My side salad was super fresh, though it only had iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, but that was fine - it was fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette was tasty. The garlic bread was a nice surprise. Usually you don't expect much from a side of garlic bread, but this was really good - garlic flavor and a nice amount of spices. The pizza we took home for dinner heated up very well. The crust was crisp and there was a decent amount of extra cheese. Very tasty. When we're in the area again, this will be a must stop. The dining area was also uncomfortably warm, as the air conditioning didn't appear to be on. The only relief came when the kitchen door opened. Service felt rushed and impersonal as well--we were greeted with a curt "Where do you want this plate?" when our food arrived, which didn't make us feel particularly welcome. The property itself remains a lovely place to spend some time outdoors, but based on this visit, we wouldn't recommend it as a destination for dinner. We hope the restaurant can return to the level of quality and hospitality it once offered.

It's simple food with a simple kitchen and it's very good for what it is. But this is not a fancy place. It's a small diner in a small town run by friendly locals. Temper your expectations, if you find yourself here and hungry, it'll hit the spot.
