Great place to go in Lexington.. VA everyone is so nice and kind will go again no buffet but food is good.

Was at a swim meet at VMI until about 9:30 PM. Not many options for dinner this late but found the Golden Garden and ordered Kung Pao Chicken and some fried rice. The chicken was in a plastic container. There was a few pieces of chicken and then some smaller pieces also but most of the container was filled with chopped up vegetables and a ton of peanuts. The fried rice didn't even look nor taste fried. Very disappointing experience. I chose this place cause it was close to the pool and it had better ratings than the other Chinese restaurant in town. If you're looking for good Chinese food, you will not find it here. read more

They are just a block from the main road in Lexington but so worth the effort to find. Their sushi was absolutely incredible, good and fresh. I used to be scared to eat raw fish, but not anymore. The restaurant is tastefully designed and the staff is warm and friendly. I had an egg roll and we split the sashimi platter. My companion had the Philly roll. The egg roll was the only thing that I did not love, it seemed to have more wrapper than filling. I cannot give a higher review! read more

We were having a hard time finding a place that was open at 9:00 pm and all the other places we checked acted rudely. I walked into Golden Garden to ask if they were still serving food and they were very nice and offered me a menu even though there was no other customers and they had started to clean. The only good was to go food but they were very patient while we ordered and we even changed some stuff. It was clean and the wall paper in the bathroom is beautiful, so much so I took a video. The other decor in the restaurant was very nice too. We waited about 15 min even though we ordered a lot and it was delicious!! I got the salmon skin salad and several other things and they pack orders in nice reusable plastic containers. Would go again! Definitely would recommend! read more

Being a hungry vegan tourist, I wanted something within walking distance from the Gin Hotel where Ii am staying. I was seated immediately (645pm on a Thursday) abd my server was attentive. The portions were on yje smaller side, but appealing to sight as well as tasty. I don't drink, so apologies for my ignorance on the alcohol situation. The restaurant was clean and hand sanitizer was available. There was at of eel on the menu, and that's definitely not my thing. I had an avacado salad., tried a seaweed salad, and had spicy beans with white rice, hot tea, and water.i wasn't rushed, nor did I have to wait for my check.id recommend this place! read more

Very average Asian cuisine. Been here 4 times and every time I feel like it's more than what it's worth. Sushi rolls are average, Chinese food is average. We ordered hibachi one night to try it out and it's not worth your time. Below average. And not what you think of at least in this area regarding hibachi. The yum yum sauce is just mayo and they charge extra for it. The quality of this place is about what you'd expect from an Asian buffet. I understand that everyone is trying their best during COVID but do better. read more

Loved our dinner experience!! Randomly went for our date night and I was pleasantly surprised with our eat in experience. Sushi was fresh. Lomein was very tasty and arrived hot and made to order. We order the pot stickers as our app again really good nice and hot. Food presentation was well done. Staff was laidback and helped when needed. We will definitely be back when we're in town. The only good thing about this place is the food. We were told a 15 minute wait and then sat for 30 minutes and people who walked in after us were seated before us. Then, our drinks were incorrect and the food took over 30 minutes to come out. This was our third time eating here and each time something has been wrong. read more

I absolutely love this place. I've dined in mostly, and ordered takeout once from here and never had an issue with the food. Everything's cooked fresh and hot here, and there's Chinese, Japanese, and Thai items to choose from. I've gotten kani salad, those delectable $5 fried "scallops" that I adored from buffets as a kid, general tso's chicken, the dragon phoenix (general tso's chicken and shrimp", singapore noodles, and various sushi rolls. God everything's delicious. You can get pan-asian food so easily in NOVA, but when you go to Lexington and Asian food is scarce, it just tastes a million times better. I like coming in and sitting in the giant booths, they're just so fun and comfy, and the staff are friendly and accommodating! I've had food from here before, it is okay. Very average asian/chinese food, but worth having every once in a while if in walking distance. Emphasis on walking distance, as the delivery service at this restaurant is terrible. I waited over two hours for my food before the delivery driver got here. While the original time was 60-70 minutes for my food delivery - and this is already a ridiculous amount of time - we had to wait more than an hour after calling and checking that my order was even being made! We were told at the hour mark that our food needed another 20-25 minutes TO COOK. I don't know what restaurant usually serves food in a three hour time frame, but I can definitely say that this restaurant is not worth your time and definitely not worth your money. read more

My friend and I had a wonderful lunch here when they first opened. After living in Hong Kong for a few of years I've really only found a couple of Chinese restaurants worth going to. Lexington has quite a few good restaurants and Golden Garden is no exception. The portions are large with all fresh tasting ingredients. I love that they are one of the few places where the shrimp are never overcooked.
