Parking was easy on the street for us and the food was delicious! They have house wines and Greek wines and we tried one, really nice and unique. The flambé cheese appetizer was such a unique offering! The kabob was tender and flavor was great, burgers are huge! I dig the Greek/Italian mix. They have some really interesting desserts and we tried the cheesecake which was very good! Service can be slow on a busy day but otherwise it is a win win and people clearly enjoy coming in to have a great time. read more

I went with my wife because someone said it was sooooo good, After learning they didn't have Greek chicken and Greek potatoes, seriously a Greek restaurant that doesn't serve Greek potatoes and Greek chicken so I ordered the chicken kebabmy wife had a pita plate with tomato and cheese so I tried to order a 2 ounce serving of hummus turns out they couldn't give me just a little bit of hummus turns out I had to order a whole extra side order of hummus and pita bread My food was very bland on a scale of one to 10 I would give it a 4 1/2 so $65 spent on lunch. This place was packed! I came in by myself and thankfully the waitress was very friendly and managed to squeeze me in. Seems they are more well known for their breakfasts on the weekend, I had mousaka which was decent but seemed just a bit plain and took awhile to come out (fair, since it's a baked dish). First time at Niko's Grill and had a great experience. They have a large menu with a great selection ranging from gyros and steaks to salads and sandwiches. Service was friendly and portions were well sized. Calamari was a bit underwhelming ( not very crispy, somewhat bland, and served with a typical marinara). We've eaten at Niko's Grille twice now... we just moved to Lexington, VA from the west coast. We have lived all over the United States, actually. The first time here I tried the Greek combo, which is three of their traditional Greek specialties of spanakopita ,moussaka (they spell this with one "s"), and pastitsio (they spell it pastichio). All three were good. I felt that the Pastitsio could have used a bit more seasoning, it just tasted slightly bland. The spanakopita was very, very good. I would order this again and do recommend it. The next time I ordered their gyro platter and I can honestly say their gyro meat is the best I've had to date! Absolutely amazing! Get their Gyro Platter, you will not regret it! In our party, we also got the Greek Salad and French fries. Both were delicious. On our second visit, my brother came with us, he ordered the Hickory Barbecue burger, he did not care for the cheddar cheese that normally comes with it and requested the Swiss cheese, instead and also requested grilled onions added. They were happy to accommodate that request. My brother said they nailed the temperature he requested the burger cooked at... he said, the burger was flavorful, bbq sauce was good, and overall a very tasty burger that he would order again. Our young man requested an "off menu" item, actually an "on menu" item but prepared differently. We are now calling it a "T-melt" (his first name begins with a "T"). They were so accommodating for our disabled young man. He requested the "Nikos Club" be made on a sub bun, no tomato or lettuce, and heated so the cheese was all "melty" and the bun was slightly toasted. They nailed it, on both visits! Our young man said it was literally the best sandwich he had ever had. I'll include a picture of it. If you read this and visit Niko's Grille, ask for the "T-Melt" and then explain, haha. Ambiance (5/5): This place was really cool. It's your typical Greek Mom & Pop restaurant. It reminded me of my family in the kitchen: bickering and joking around. Niko was hilarious. His wife took a facetime call and Niko took the phone, said something in Greek (I assume) and then hung up and threw the phone on the counter. It was hilarious. I loved it! Niko was very warm and welcoming to everyone! He checked on everyone there and tried to get everyone seated. Food (5/5): We got 2 starters: Greek Meatballs ($10) and Koukouvayia ($8). The meatballs were delicious and came with pita! The koukouvayia was simple: pita, chunks of tomatoes, and feta drizzled with oil. These were really good and filling. You know when there's a small business restaurant owned by Greek's I have to support. First, the service was great! Of course the owner was there as well, and he had such great humor. Our waitress, was quick, and kind as well. My family and I started by ordering their Nachos Deluxe. They were deluxe alright. There was not a single chip abandoned by the cheese. And that's all you want in life, if you're a nachos fan. For my entree I ordered their philly cheese steak sandwich, and oh my was that delicious. The pictures speak for themselves. They also have one of my favorite types of fries. I get so excited when a restaurant has these types of fries. I am not sure what style fries you would call these, but gosh they're spectacular. Not one fry was left in sight. Overall, was a great restaurant. It appeared their dinner menu had more Greek food choices, which I wish was on their lunch menu as well! Food is decent. We enjoyed the hummus, spinach pie was alright, Saganaki (Flaming green cheese) was good too. But we made a mistake of ordering Alfredo pasta for kids and that was probably the worst Alfredo pasta they ever had. Shouldn't have tried Italian in a Greek restaurant! Anyway, service was crisp. I came here to eat with family last week and have been here in the past as well. Greek isn't really my thing but there are other options if that isn't your fancy. I saw burgers, there's a Philly cheesesteak and other things as well on the menu. We got some Calamari as an appetizer and I was very impressed with that! Lots of flavor and it honestly beat the calamari at a well known Lobster chain. For lunch, I got the grilled chicken sandwich and some fries. As I said, Greek really isn't my thing and didn't like the dressing on the sandwich but otherwise it was delicious, hot and the chicken well seasoned. Fries were also very good and not your standard issue restaurant fries. Service was decent. Our waitress was friendly and kind but could have been a tad more attentive to our table as far as making sure we had everything we needed. That was no biggie though and she did good over all and everything was correct as ordered and very fast coming out too. The restaurant itself is clean, not too loud and conveniently located in downtown Lexington. Parking in Lexington can notoriously be a hassle so be prepared to look around for a spot and walk a little. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it as a try. read more

Our visit to Niko's Grille was less than satisfactory. The service was atrocious. My family liked their food but the processed meat in my Giro was disgusting. I saw a kitchen staffer grab a piece on cheesecake with her hands and put it on a plate. She then licked her fingers and wiped them on her apron. It took forever to get our check. They finally provided a hand-written check and said to pay at the register. I waited for 5 minutes at the register before being helped. It then took another 5 minutes for the staffer to get the credit card machine to work. I will not return. read more

My husband and I were just passing through last night and decided to stop and try Niko's. The restaurant is located in the downtown area and is nothing to write home about as far as interior decor is concerned. It was clean and id rather have that over fou-fou decorations any day. I ordered the soup & Greek salad w/gyro meat whilst my husband ordered the trio. My husband received a salad as part of his meal. It was a salad............. I had a bowl of the soup. I love this soup!!!! I'd order a gallon to-go if I could get it home ok. The soup deserves 4+ stars. The dressing for my salad was supposed to be creamy Greek. Had I not been told I would have sworn it was creamy Italian. I don't much like Italian. The vat of dressing that accompanied the salad was enough for my salad and several more. The Pstitsio/Pastichio was bland. There. I said it. I know you shouldn't compare what you cook at home with another's but this was night and day. Don't get me wrong and think this was bad because it wasn' it was just bland. I was given my recipe over 40 years ago and it's what I'm used to. My recipe has nutmeg & cinnamon which gives much depth to the meat mixture and really isn't as weird as it may sound. I also freshly grate my Parmesan cheese on each layer and couldn't detect that either. Otherwise, it was a nice little dish. I really shouldn't compare my food to another's and expect the same results, should I? The food was good and I would certainly go back because there was a lot I don't make at home and would love to try!! Service was prompt, server was nice, place wasn't busy, it was a Wednesday. We drank water. I think I covered most everything. Oh, the rest of the trio on my husbands plate? I didn't taste but he said was good. Not fantastic, not meh, but a solid "good"! So, there you go. Wanted to eat local and not at a chain. Found this place and got there about 20 min before closing. They were VERY welcoming and we got in sat down and ordered. Not our intention to keep the staff around any longer than needed. They didn't seem to be bothered by our late entrance. The food was AMAZING!!! I highly recommend the Club it was HUGH! I have to say I was full the next day when I woke up also. The menu had everything for everyone. We at and left and it was only about 5 after closing. That was because the food came out fast. For just a sandwich and fries, the price was a little on the high side. The fries and sandwich were overall amazing but the downside is that because of the excess amounts sauerkraut, it overpowered the flavors and soaked the slices of bread. read more

I was visiting Lexington for the first time and got a little turned around. Saw the door open, people eating inside, and the rest is history. They had a great breakfast menu. I ordered the breakfast special with two eggs over easy and country ham. It came with potatoes and bread. Dang! The food was excellent. The eggs tasted farm fresh with the deep yellow yoke. The country ham, which I like because it is cured with salt, was grilled just enough and was cut just thin enough to be super flavorful. The potatoes were lightly grilled and seasoned excellent. I loved the look of the restaurant and how clean it was. A super plus was that the restroom was super clean as well. I am not kidding, if I lived there, I would eat breakfast there every day. The coffee was hot, very tasty and kept flowing. The service was extraordinary, super attentive. I will go here every time I go to Lexington which BTW was well worth the trip. So much to do and see. We always try to eat local and support local businesses when we travel and this place did not disappoint.
