Good home cooked breakfast. Biscuits were very good. Very friendly service. A bit more expensive than one would expect, though.

Egg sandwich and home fries

We were visiting family in the area and wanted a good diner breakfast before a day of sightseeing and outdoors enjoyment. Edith's popped up on the search and seemed like it would fit the bill--and it did! Laid back and old-school diner with very fair prices and portions. I had the country fried steak and eggs with homefries and a biscuit, my wife ordered an egg sandwich. We both enjoyed our food and hot coffee. The owner (Edith?) seemed to be all hands on deck, assisting with the cooking (I think) and serving us as well, if so doing both tremendously! Very friendly and efficient person who appears to run a great business. If I lived in the area I'd be back to try lunch and dessert, so until that's possible I'll just have to recommend to the family members we were visiting to give Edith's a try!

This location is a family favorite for us. We have been having breakfast here for years, and I never considered leaving a review because this restaurant has transcended the traditional feeling of dining out and more so feels like we're having breakfast in a family friend's dining room. If you're traveling down Route 60 East or West, I highly recommend you give Ms. Edith a chance. The ambiance is so welcoming and friendly, and the staff are always ready to bring you a fresh cup of coffee and serve a delicious home-cooked meal. I always order eggs over easy, country sausage, toast, and corned beef hash. Hits the spot every single time. My wife and our child also have their regular meals that they are consistently satisfied with as well.

Dinosaur collection.

What a wonderful lunch. Don't judge this place by its looks. The food is fresh and amazing. I had…read morethe steak and cheese, my daughter had the Italian. Both came on freshly baked bread that made the sandwiches. Service was good. We took pastried to go and they were amazing as well.

(If you get nothing else from this review, know the rolls used for their sandwiches are homemade…read moreand DELICIOUS.) While my passion is pizza, Kid #1 would live or die for a sandwich. And who doesn't love meat + cheese + bread? So when sustenance was needed on our road trip, a Yelp search for "sandwiches" led us to What A Blessing. I admit we were skeptical. The interior was small and... well... odd. It reminded me of my great-aunt Marie's farmhouse. Upon immediately walking in the door I saw that a large bakery case was empty. I almost walked out thinking the place was going out of business. However, we grabbed a table in the (small) dining room and perused the limited menu. We ordered roast beef, but they were out of it. We ordered soup, but they had none to offer. Discouragement set it, but we persevered. Finally, our subs and sandwiches arrived! They all came with a side of BBQ chips. Now... BBQ chips are my favorite, so I perked up immediately. Let me shout this: THE SUB ROLLS WERE HOMEMADE! They were delicious. Fantastic flavor. Perfect texture and crumb. The subs were piled with meat, which tasted high quality. Kid #1 swore her turkey was Boar's Head. Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't, but it was definitely quality meat. My cheesesteak was fantastic, and the Italian sub was spot-on. The burger was just average, but the delicious HOMEMADE bun made up for it. All the veggies (lettuce, tomato, etc.) on our subs seemed fresh. The owner(?) dropped some free pastries at our table, too. Sweet, tender, and tasty! I would recommend you grab a donut or two to go, too. In the area and want a sweet or a sammie? Check out What A Blessing to support a local guy and a Christian.

I have visited this restaurant several times over the years and never expected exceptional service…read more Really only ever the bare minimum. Unfortunately, even that appears to be too much to ask. On my most recent visit, I arrived alone and took an open seat at the bar, which seemed like the obvious choice for a solo diner. I immediately noticed food from a completely different fast-food restaurant scattered across part of the counter. Since it was on the employee side of the bar and both employees were standing behind it, I reasonably assumed they were eating between tasks. In fact, one employee was actively eating from the food while on the clock. While unprofessional, I chose to overlook it. What I could not overlook was the behavior of the employee I later learned was named Betty. Rather than greeting me or taking my order, Betty decided to make comments about my choice of seating to the other patrons sitting at the bar. Instead of speaking to me directly, she chose to publicly imply that I had done something wrong by sitting in an open seat clearly intended for customers. When I asked whether she was referring to me, she confronted me and explained that it should have been "obvious" that the area occupied by their fast-food meal was reserved for the employees. Let that sink in: an employee eating food from another restaurant behind the counter felt entitled to publicly criticize a paying customer for sitting at a customer seat because it interfered with her personal breakfast. The entire interaction was embarrassing, unprofessional, and incredibly disrespectful. The issue wasn't the food. It wasn't the seat. It was the astonishing sense of entitlement and complete lack of customer service displayed by someone whose job is to provide hospitality. If employees want designated dining areas, management should provide them. What should never happen is a customer being publicly singled out and treated like an inconvenience for using a seat intended for patrons. Needless to say, I left without ordering. I will not be returning, and I will be sharing this experience with others. Poor service is one thing. Being openly mocked and confronted for sitting in an available customer seat is another level entirely. This restaurant already struggled with mediocre service. After this experience, it has earned something far worse: a reputation for making customers feel unwelcome.
