Messi Chicken Sandwich at the Hard Rock Cafe

On my first night staying at the Sheraton Fallsview, I did not really know my way around Niagara Falls yet, and it was getting late. Since the Hard Rock Cafe on Falls Avenue was conveniently located in the hotel area, I decided to stop there for dinner. I ordered the MESSI Chicken Burger because it looked really good on the menu, and I wanted to try something different. When it arrived at the table, it looked amazing. It was covered in cheese, just the way I like it, and the presentation made it look very appetizing. Unfortunately, underneath all of that cheese were two very hard, overcooked chicken patties. The fries were good, and I did eat the meal, but the burger itself was not what I expected and was definitely disappointing. I also ordered what I believe was an apple cobbler or a similar dessert, but unfortunately, that was even more disappointing. I am not a picky eater, but between the overcooked burger and the dessert, I was not happy with the food at all, especially considering how much I spent. The positive part of the experience was my server. He was very friendly and provided excellent customer service. Since it was my first night in Niagara Falls, he made suggestions about tours and things to do, and he even gave me helpful advice about where I could charge my phone around the city so I could keep taking pictures. I truly appreciated his kindness and helpfulness. Overall, the service was very good, but the food was a major disappointment. The location was convenient, and my server was excellent, but based on what I ordered, I left feeling dissatisfied with the meal.

I went here with my family during my trip this week to Niagara Falls. We went here twice during our trip. The 1st day we went was last Thursday for dinner. I wanted the Margherita Flatbread Pizza but they were out so I had the chicken fingers, my brother had the chicken Cobb salad, and my mom had the salmon. The portions were just right. Our server was amazing & attentive. And the ambiance was laid back for a Thursday night. Our 2nd visit was with the rest of the family on Saturday afternoon, this time I had the Margherita Flatbread Pizza, which was ok. I did enjoy the fries from my brother's Messi Chicken Burger Sandwich meal.

Hard Rock Cafe is an American restaurant chain that is known for their rock-and-roll memorabilia decor. This location can be found in Niagara Falls, ON off of Falls Ave. I've been to Hard Rock Cafe in the past so I already knew what to expect; decent food, good service, and high prices. I started with the One Night In Bangkok Spicy Shrimp. The sauce was delicious, but they were too heavily breaded. For my entree I chose the Baby Back Ribs. The ribs are seasoned with a signature spice blend and then glazed with house-made barbecue sauce. They were a little overcooked/dry, but still enjoyable. This place has a great vibe, but don't come here expecting the food to be amazing. Food was so so, poutine fries not the best and the chicken in my sandwich was overcooked. It was meh to say the least. The burger we ordered wasn't that great, nothing special to it. The mashed potato's that came with it was terrible no taste. Portions were way too big. Service was great and ambiance was decent af least.

I went here around 8:20pm on Friday for a quick dinner during my Zoom Tour I was on before meeting up with my group again at 9pm. There was no wait at that time, so they sat us at the tables outside. Visiting this restaurant wasn't part of my original plan, but I chose this since it was near my group's meet up spot and we ran out of time to do all the other solo activities we planned since we were too busy taking pictures at Niagara Falls. Anyways, this restaurant has a wide variety of American foods, ranging from burgers, pasta, nachos, sandwiches, alcohol, and many more, so that was good for us since we didn't know what we wanted to eat. We ended up ordering the smallest meals we could think of with our 30 minutes we had left for dinner that day. We ordered the All-American Sliders and the Classic Nachos and they were super quick at serving us our food! Both of the meals we ordered were a lot larger than we thought! I also liked how loaded the Classic Nachos were, but we ended up having trouble finishing the food since it was so filling! All the food was good though and I loved how loaded the nachos were! Hehe we were literally scarfing down our food with the limited time we had left before meeting up with the group again to watch the weekly fireworks show nearby. I'd recommend this place! They're quick at serving you and all the food still tasted good even though I was eating it quickly. This Hard Rock Cafe location also has a small merch shop if you want to buy some souvenirs from them.

Okay, so you are in Niagara Falls, seeing one of the natural wonders of the world. You just over paid for a crap hotel room, and are stuck out there trying to find a place to eat. Where do you go? Well, first mistake, you should have went to the local grocery store or brought food because you are in TOURIST TRAP HEAVEN! Yea, that's right, accommodations and better food at more reasonable prices are available in Toronto, seriously! So, let's get back to you, here you are. You are already sitting down in this business wondering what's up, or outside wondering if it's okay, or just randomly freaking out about where you are going to eat in a square mile as your family loses their collective minds. If that's true, at this point, you are stuck and this is NOT a bad option. Ya'll didn't think it through, but it's going to be okay here. Here it is: OVERPRICED!!! Big time. 20 bucks US for a hamburger. I have to admit though, it was really good, not 20 bucks good, but more like 12 bucks good. Drinks are expensive, the business doesn't look good anymore, the memorabilia is fairly limited for a Hard Rock, and the bathroom is pretty deplorable. I noticed a lot of people sitting down, looking at the menu, and leaving. I mentioned it to our server and they said it was because of the prices. They have roughly a 10% bolt rate according to them. So, back to you, you aren't going to find anything else better at this point, so stick it out, it won't be bad, and make better plans next time so you aren't reading this review. Cheers, enjoy your time at the falls, go to the laser show at night and bring ponchos for when the wind switches and blows the entire falls all over you. :). I don't mean that in a bad way, it was spectacular and special for my family. Enjoy.

We sat on the patio outside. Best mojito of my life. Food was good. Good service. Like the live music.

Haven't been to HRC in 6yrs since that 1 time we went in Florida. Was really excited. We got the classic nachos although we shouldn't have cuz I remember how huge the serving is from last time. The nachos are pretty good, comes with pico de gallo, got jalapeños & sour cream on the side. The beans were on the bottom. It's pretty cheesy & crispy. We also got poutine- fries with gravy & cheese, which was pretty good. We also got cedar plank salmon ($36) with mashed potato & corn on the cob. The salmon & mashed potato was really good but the serving of salmon was pretty small. It's very busy we had to wait awhile for our server to come so we could pay the bill.

Oh how the mighty have fallen This location was no where near the old time Hard Rock vibe. The staff were fine and our server was pretty good They give you a QR code menu with no wifi and no cell coverage in the place. The menu what's gone down hill substantially to the point of our table of 5 had 4 max n cheese dinners and something else forgettable The mac n cheese was actually pretty good and the only redeeming pert of the experience. I always lived the hard rock and would go to everyone I could find. Not anymore

Food, service and atmosphere was good. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. We had complicated orders with substitutions and she got it all right.

This place has sweet locals in spades. But the food is just ok, and the beer selection is just mass-produced lagers. In all fairness, we didn't try the wings; we just had a bunch of appetizers. They were all fine, but they were most likely premade, frozen and then fried. The good news: the staff were great. Super friendly and helpful. Also, the bar itself was a cool, divey sports bar vibe. Totally ok if you're looking for a local watering hole. Not a great option for killer food.

There were more than a few day drinkers hanging around the bar and patio, but no one seemed inebriated. To be honest, though, I probably wouldn't bring my kids here on a Friday or Saturday night. It was obvious we weren't locals and even more obvious we were there to eat (not drink), but I did not feel at all uncomfortable or out of place. Our server (a blond barkeep) was super duper nice. She was friendly, pleasant, and chatty. She definitely enhanced our visit! And the food was totally awesome! It was our first time having poutine and I'm not sure it was standard (it had shredded cheese instead of cheese curds) but it was delicious! Like really really really good. The burger was juicy and thick. The fries were totally yummy. Kid #1 said the chicken parm sandwich was good, and I thoroughly enjoyed my Philly cheesesteak. The prices were totally reasonable, too! Definitely a bargain considering the decent price for excellent food! For sure we'd visit Cool Hand Luke's again!

(A particularly fond memory is sitting in the car with my brother after we had ordered through the car hop service at the former Granville House, listening to Dr. Bundolo's Pandemonium Medicine Show on CBC, and seeing the tray swaying up and down because we were laughing so hard the car was shaking.) That is, until I moved to Ontario, because White Spot is a B.C.-only kind of place. Since then, they have spun out Triple O's. You can find them in Alberta, Ontario, and even Hong Kong. Triple O's is a kind of mini-White Spot, but it's actually sort of the "best of" from the White Spot I remember: burgers, fish and chips, and shakes (minus the "Chicken Pick'ns", which, sadly, have also disappeared from White Spot's menu). White Spot still offers those dishes, plus a bunch of more upscale fare, and dining at White Spot is no longer affordable. Now, it's the kind of place you go for special occasions (unless money is no object). And, sadly, Triple O's is also at the top end of pricing for fast food joints. But still, for this homesick B.C. boy, chowing down on a Legendary burger took me back. It's still as good as I remember. But, to be fair to those who didn't grow up with White Spot, it may just come across as good, but overpriced.
