Staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially Michelle. Rooms were very clean and we had a comfortable King bed with two nightstands. Nice breakfast with cold boiled eggs and waffle maker, fruit, great coffee, micro, cereal, yogurt Bagels, cream cheese.... Included with stay. I was told they don't price match Internet but Michelle corrected staff and said they did. Good to know for next time. Could have saved $50. Take your own shampoo and conditioner. Didn't care for their comditioning shampoo. They do provide hand lotion. 2nd time staying here. We would come back. Beautiful view of sunrise and boats/water from our top balcony 3rd Floor. I have stayed at this inn several times and have recommended it to relatives, who also stayed there. It is clean and cozy with a charming view and balcony right over the PT marina. It is close to the free public transportation covered stop as well. For the money, you won't get a better deal. The manager, Michelle, is as honest and helpful as the day is long. If you have a problem, she will work with you. She goes above and beyond. Whenever I visit Port Townsend, I plan to stay at the Harborside Inn. read more

So very much. It's a half a stumble better than a Motel 6 with prices like an upscale motel. NO air conditioning, small rooms, and if you stay more than 1 night, they only straighten the room. We have stayed at the Harborside Inn a few times and always have appreciated that the Inn provides clean, comfortable rooms near the marina. Our rooms always have been fairly quiet; on weekday mornings we have heard a little sound of the workday starting in and around the marina. This might be a little bit of a basic property but I think it delivers good value. Some rooms include balconies which is a nice touch. The lobby has a comfy sitting area off of the front desk, and opposite that is the dining room where the Continental breakfast is served. The staff always have been helpful and gracious. We will be very happy to be visit again. read more

What a colossal blunder booking this hotel for a week! I had educational classes in Port Townsend and thought that the Harborside Inn might be a good option, but little did I know that I would be placed in a ground floor room with no view. Even worse, the walls were so thin and the structure so rickety that all of the guests above me shook my room as though it was an earthquake and the ceiling was about to collapse. The hotel was clearly built in the 70's and the rooms has the decor to match. Housecleaning routinely forgets to replace items (coffee, bath mats, etc...) in the room and it was up to me to do without. Definitely not recommended. read more

Update! We have actually stayed here a couple times since my first review and were quite pleasantly surprised at how much better it was after our first time! The rooms and bathroom have been clean since and the staff was very nice. The biggest downfall is that the pool and spa are still closed but it didn't make much of a difference the last time because we were there during the Covid pandemic. Under ordinary circumstances this hotel may be manageable, but I ultimately had to check out early and go elsewhere. There are a few things to note: -The beds are quite uncomfortable -As others have said, no hot tub is available. It seems permanently closed. -The bathroom had mold staining in it, and my tub had a giant hair stuck to it from a previous guest What led me to check out early were three factors: 1) it's an old, poorly insulated hotel. I was on the second floor and the noise carried quite well from the folks above me. They weren't particularly loud, but their walking shook things in my room. 2) it smelled awful, like a combo of musty and old cigarette smoke. 3) as of October 2023 there is construction happening right by the hotel, which brings ALL traffic going downtown to the road that runs by all of the rooms. It is extremely loud in the morning, and my first night I was awoken at 6 by this. It's not their fault, but they should advertise this on their website so folks can make informed decisions. I have asked that management call me as the night shift person was unable to help me. If they give me a refund I will update my review accordingly. read more

The positive: Clean room, friendly staff average breakfast to wake up to, all very basic, nor do you pay for what you would at a fancy bed and breakfast. The negative: If you get there early, there's no bathroom in the lobby, so keep driving into town to the public one on the right side. There's a pool and hot tub, but it was closed, and not inviting next to the parking lot. No notice online when purchasing that it's closed. The coffee provided in the room was weak, the packet was small, probably for one cup, yet the pot was for two cups and there was two if us. Bring your own grounds and filter, or wait till you go to the breakfast by the lobby. read more

Our room, 122, is marked as non smoking; however, smoke permeates everything in this room. Five minutes in this room makes my throat sore. I would prefer sleeping in my car over exposing myself to the toxins being emitted by the carpet, curtains, and furniture. If I could rate this below one star, I would. Not too obvious when booking, but this hotel is 100% smoke free. I use medicinal cannabis for a chronic illness and had chosen this hotel so I could ingest my cannabis on the balcony, however this is not allowed. For this reason, I had to reserve an Air BnB last minutes and check out of here early, no refunds available. My $350-hour long stay here was unpleasant as the entire room smelled like stale cat piss and the hotel staff were condescending. read more

This is a fantastic place to stay with a pet. I was traveling with a 12-year-old dog and they put me in a ground floor, fully carpeted room that had easy access to grass. (Much appreciated on all counts with an older dog!) My room was spotlessly clean, ready ahead of schedule, and the parking lot was quite large and also clean. The breakfast was standard 2-star hotel breakfast fare but was very fresh and well-presented and started at 6 a.m. even on weekends. Furniture is a bit worn and decor outdated, but everything is clean and serviceable; I would personally rather them keep rates low than raise prices to cover continual cosmetic updates. The location is nice and quiet but walking distance to food and a park as well as the harbor. My sole complaint is that I wish the pool was open. read more

Taking our first trip to Port Townsend with Toby, we decided to give the Harborside Inn our business because the rooms were recently renovated and they allowed us to bring our dog (they have two pet friendly rooms). After arriving we found the lobby to be incredibly clean and we were excited about our choice to stay at the Harborside. The staff was very friendly and answered our questions about restaurants and places to visit in the area. We checked into our room, and we found it to be incredibly clean. We were relieved that our pet room was on the far end (which is where all pet rooms should be) of the first level. Our stay was very quiet and peaceful and the view in the back was beautiful (you can see boats in the harbor). Our mattress was very nice and we never really worried about whether or not our room was clean. The breakfast was also great with plenty of options (waffles, yogurt, fruit, cereal, English muffins, etc.). The room had a small fridge and microwave which is always handy while traveling. And it was a pretty good location, just a short 3-5 minute drive to downtown. Plenty of parking out front. read more

The pros of this place are its marina view and location to the marina/boatyard. It's also walking distance to the Pourhouse and Port Townsend Brewing Co (closes at 7pm). It's near downtown too but most people would say it's more of a short drive than walking distance. The cons? Lots but the worst for me was the room's plastic smell (we kept the sliding glass door open all night), the cheap too-thick pillows that made for a poor night of sleep and gave me a sore neck, and in general an incredibly ugly room. read more

It even comes with a waffle machine to make fresh waffles in the morning as part of their free continental breakfast. As part of their breakfast, they have waffles, bananas, apples, corn flakes, rice krispies, quaker oats oatmeal in maple brown sugar and apple cinnamon form, bread and bagels to toast as well as coffee and milk and orange/apples juice from concentrate. It cost me $98.75 after taxes to stay here Thanksgiving weekend. The view is beautiful as long as you don't mind having electrical line/telephone poles in your pictures. Their shampoo/conditioner/lotion and soap smell like lemongrass. Staff was nice and friendly. POOL is outdoors and closed off during the winter. read more

This place is auful Mold in my bath room on the ceiling, found out when I took my shower this moring that the tub drain was full. Screen door to patio was torn, hello flys!, but didn't really matter in that there was a one inch gap at the bottom of the screen in case the flys can't find the tear. Crap colored carpet hides the dirt and crap, but you can sure tell it is there. Matress has definate dent from heavy use, building needs major redo and paining. And get rid of the big bowl of rotten bananas that greet you in the lobby! Fpr $210 for the night, I am a fool for now leaving. read more

I was able to speak with the manager who was very kind and helpful. She was appalled to hear of our experience and wanted to make it right. She will be meeting with head of housekeeping to make sure not only that these things don't happen again but that the cleanliness of the rooms are up to standards. We booked this hotel for a large wedding party in August in 2021, and because of the description we were excited about the outdoor pool to keep all the children occupied during the weekend. We were NOT told the pool and hot tub were closed due to renovation, in the summer! When I asked why I was not informed of of that when I called to make my reservations the woman at the desk merely replied "Did you ask?" Upon entering my room with my daughter I needed to use the restroom quickly after a long 2 hour drive, and realized our bathroom only had enough toilet paper for "one" potty break! No extras on any other rolls, none left anywhere in sight. In August our weather can be very hot, we realized the day of the wedding as we were all going from room to room primping and preparing for this wonderful day, that we were all starting to sweat and get grumpy, so I looked for the air conditioner to turn on, but there was NONE in any room! My last morning I couldn't wait to get out of there, I started to gather up all of my spread out clothing from the wedding, and other items for the last two days of being there, to see that they had a major issue with SUGAR ANTS. They were in my clothing, my bag, the bathroom, the shower. I called the others in the wedding party, the other FIVE rooms, and they all had the same problem! I have written management of my issues and concerns. Not looking for anything in return, certainly NOT a free nights stay as I will never stay her again, but merely asking that future customers be given better accommodations. I stayed for two days, a Friday & Saturday and it cost me total $353.00, of which was not worth the money. read more

Stayed here two nights and slept well each time. Had a comfy king bed and a nice little balcony overlooking the marina. I went down to the pool to go for a swim but couldn't manage to get more than just my toes in because it was so cold. Continental breakfast was good- I'm always happy when I can make waffles at a continental breakfast :) there were also other good options. Everything was very positive..the front desk folks, housekeeping, breakfast options, parking, location etc. However, we were guests for 8 nights and NEVER had wifi coverage in our room (but it was great right outside our door). We used our cell data until we were dangerously close to going over our limit. We talked with the staff about this issue several times and they promised to ask the owner or manager when they saw him. Apparently the hotel had excellent coverage throughout the property until the manager/owner recently changed the wifi receiver things around. It really changed our routine for work, news, sleeping apps and so forth. When we checked out of the room our last day I asked if they could change our bill to reflect the loss of services and they said they'd ask the management person who was coming that day. They were to get back with me that same day, but we heard nothing. Finally, 5 days later I contacted the very helpful staff by phone and they said the manager/owner decided to reduce our bill (for 8 days, remember...) for a TOTAL of $22.22. Frankly I found that a bit insulting. I believe $10-20/day would have been more appropriate, but the staff quietly reiterated that $22+ total was what he allowed. Again, everything else was pretty great, but that left a sad impression for us. read more

Stayed here 4 nights over Christmas holiday. The place was almost empty. Paid $100-120 per night for 3 people. Common area and room were very clean. Staff was very pleasant. Right on the water at the boat yard. Near the Safeway, but a mile or so to downtown. Not walkable in the winter. Continental breakfast had a lot of options if you eat that kind of food, ie starch, sugar, etc., but they also had some fruit. Not many breakfast options nearby except the Blue Moose Cafe (about 3 blocks away in the boat yard) which was a kind of local dive, but served a decent breakfast. Room was on 3rd floor looking out at the marina. Nice view, but too cold to use the balcony. Room was a bit spartan, but had the essentials. I would call it used, but not run down. Mattress and pillows were well used. Had to pile 2 pillows together to get them firm enough. You know that advertisement where they put a glass of wine on one side of the mattress, jump on the other side, and the wine glass doesn't move? Well, if they had done that with this mattress, the wine glass would have be thrown off the bed and through the window. Kind of springy. Overall, sort of a basic "place to sleep", but seemed clean. read more

What can I say?!? We travelled 100 miles to port Townsend for a night to ourselves without the kids. The Inn we originally reserved a night at failed us completely and out of respiration to find a room for the night, this Inn went up and beyond to help us. She sympathized with us and let us see some rooms before booking to ensure this were clean and decent. We stayed in room 105 for the night of Friday, January 11, 2013. We paid $79 + Tax, which came out to be somewhere around $87 for the night. When we walked into our room the heater was on full blast. Granted it was a cold night, but the room must have been 80 degrees. The room smelled like it was once a smoking room and smelled very old, while the hotel didn't look THAT old in the lobby. We found a washrag in our room left from a previous guest, used and hanging over the bathroom curtain rod. (disgusting!) We only had two towels which felt like they were bought from the 99 cent section of Walmart. The hairdryer didn't work. The bed was REALLY old and the pillows obviously well used. The only saving grace to the Harborside Inn was their exceptionally nice front desk staff. We had Pat check us in that evening who was exceptionally nice. read more

Shockingly-bad hotel -- I asked for refund 10 minutes after checking in. Wife, baby daughter and myself were looking for place to stay for one night. The first room had flies in the air and other unidentifiable bugs emanating from the sliding glass window. We called the desk, here is how the conversation went: Wife: "Hi, we need another room, this one has bugs." Front Desk: "Ok, what kind of room do you want?" Wife: "Uhmm, one without bugs...." Are you kidding me? The next room offered had a smell that gave us headaches. We could not take it and left quickly thereafter. The fact that this hotel is open for business is a wonder. Owners should be ashamed. The real shocker was that the employee (a) didn't ask for a reason why we were leaving, (b) offered ZERO apologies and (c) did not seem the least bit surprised we wanted a refund. Mind you, I have not even criticized the lack of updates with appliances, bedsheets and furniture, all straight from the 80's. Make sure to research other hotels in the area and take a pass on the Harborside Inn. YOU deserve better! read more

The location of this motel is good. It is a 10 minute walk to downtown. It is a few doors down from a great pub called Pour House. There is also a cafe and Indian restaurant along the same street. The views from the balcony are also nice. There is a continental breakfast each morning. The room itself is a bit run down for the price. $150 a night plus tax for a double. The decor and furnishings are dated in a way that does not make them cozy Victorian like the town of Port Townsend. The bedding could use a face lift. I think this motel has potential if they steered away from the cheap Bates motel look and perhaps designed each of the rooms uniquely with Port Townsend finds. Some color, new carpet or wood floors, and fresh bedding would really help. I would also recommend to this motel that they switch to green cleaners since the cleaners that they appear to be using have an overpowering fragrance. The room had a terrible chemical smell mixed with body odor. Not good. I will say that the woman at the front desk did her best to please us by walking us to a few other rooms for a sniff test. Unfortunately, they all had that horrid chemical fragrance. She did give us a tiny discount, but really not enough to clear the chemical headache. I did like that there was a microwave and mini fridge, which are always nice when you are traveling. Harborside, you have potential to be a great place to stay in PT, just hire a sustainable designer who specializes in healthy indoor environments and who can give you some tips on designing rooms with some staying power. read more

Holy Golden Girls! It was like walking into Dorothy's bedroom. The TV was even from the late 80's. For what I paid, ($149), I thought it was going to be a seriously nice room. A dump, with mildly stained furniture in stale smelling rooms with no air conditioning. Their internet service is a nightmare. If you decide to stay here, be sure to spray down every single item with Lysol. It might be a good idea to pick up some Fabreze, about 4 small but strong candles & matches and a counter air freshener. Whoever owns it should be ashamed of themselves. The location is fantastic and the parking is ample. They have continental (just barely) breakfast, which includes: toast, muffins, coffee, juice, oatmeal, self-made waffles, yogurt (weekends only) and cereal. Pleasant, helpful staff. Small fridge, small microwave in room. I had Room 121, a spacious, single King with a patio on the ground floor, from July 19th-26th. It was quiet and comfortable. Why did I stay here?
