When asked about it, the crew member stated that he "wanted to try something new" and "didn't want to ask for permission." Huh? They did clean up the rock after I got back in contact with Ryan. Crew told me he would make it look nice, and instead left two gigantic piles of rock in front of my house. Why even bother telling me you'd make it look nice at that point? I will admit it did get a chuckle out of me. It was a mixed bag of an experience for me, but in the end I am happy with the patio and driveway - which is what matters most.

There was a crushed storm drain pipe under the existing portion of driveway that was causing water back up in heavy rains. R & M had to carefully saw cut and pick out the existing concrete, lay in a new 4" pipe, encase and protect the new pipe in the proper rock and then put in new exposed aggregate concrete to match the existing. PERFECTION! You'd never know it was done except that the original concrete is not nearly as good as the new work. This was an exceptional job. Next ... 203 feet of driveway leading up to the house. The existing gravel driveway with all its country charm was not working for us for several reasons. We did the math on putting in a new asphalt drive with it's maintenance needs over 50 years versus a "one and done" concrete install. Concrete won. OMG ... so beautiful. I've had experience with concrete installs in residential and commercial applications. I know what I'm looking at when I see the work done. This was the best work I've ever seen. Last thought to share. FEED YOUR CONTRACTORS. They really appreciate it. It's really easy to put out sandwiches, chips, and beverages. Have it delivered if you need to. It clearly means so much to the crew and a good break with healthy food fuels a good afternoon's work.

She was also very helpful in letting me know the area suppliers that they use in case we couldn't find a sample we liked in the showroom. She was super responsive to emails and after my initial measurements I had a quote back same day. Templating/final measurements and install were both scheduled at the same time and the person helping me on that was very friendly. Everything was done in about a month from my initial deposit! The counters look great, the installers were very nice and professional, Travis in the office was a huge help during demo and I'm very pleased with the final outcome. In total, it took 4x longer - 16 weeks. Scheduling was consistently vague, and commitments were unreliable. Extra charges were added to the final invoice for tasks like installing a hood vent and four light fixtures. I was not notified of these additional charges before or during the work, and I only became aware of them upon receiving the final bill. Because this work was completed without prior notice or pricing disclosure, I was not given an opportunity to review the costs or compare prices beforehand. I was charged in full for work that was unsatisfactory, or not completed at all. (See pictures). I was verbally told that I would not be charged full price for certain incomplete work. The final invoice reflected otherwise. Things would be left unfinished for weeks on end. (The old toilet left in the bathroom, shed debris left sitting in the backyard grass). Several items took multiple trips. (Shower surround, door sweep, drywall repair). Some items are still unsatisfactory after multiple attempts. Some of my personal belongings were damaged, for which I received no credit or reimbursement. Contractor noted that they provided work at no charge. Several of those items were either included in the contract or work that was required to repair their work. They added the final payment as a charge to the final invoice. I had to have them correct their billing error. Had I not caught their error - I would have been overcharged. I have not received lien releases, which I requested.

Most people don't even know that if there is a mortgage on your home and have a claim the check sent for the repairs comes and goes to them. Never seen a contractor take on a project with a guarantee that interest doesn't cover it they pay for it. So lucky to have found a company like this.

The rebuild was a huge task- SWF handled it all- electric, insulation, drywall, painting, tiling, appliance installs, cabinet install, and did an enormous amount of cedar trim and finish carpentry- and helped us coordinate subcontractors as well.
