In total, it took 4x longer - 16 weeks. Scheduling was consistently vague, and commitments were unreliable. Extra charges were added to the final invoice for tasks like installing a hood vent and four light fixtures. I was not notified of these additional charges before or during the work, and I only became aware of them upon receiving the final bill. Because this work was completed without prior notice or pricing disclosure, I was not given an opportunity to review the costs or compare prices beforehand. I was charged in full for work that was unsatisfactory, or not completed at all. (See pictures). I was verbally told that I would not be charged full price for certain incomplete work. The final invoice reflected otherwise. Things would be left unfinished for weeks on end. (The old toilet left in the bathroom, shed debris left sitting in the backyard grass). Several items took multiple trips. (Shower surround, door sweep, drywall repair). Some items are still unsatisfactory after multiple attempts. Some of my personal belongings were damaged, for which I received no credit or reimbursement. Contractor noted that they provided work at no charge. Several of those items were either included in the contract or work that was required to repair their work. They added the final payment as a charge to the final invoice. I had to have them correct their billing error. Had I not caught their error - I would have been overcharged. I have not received lien releases, which I requested.

I really wanted someone local (near Oly/Lacey/Tumwater) and found Equity Roofing's great reviews. Jose showed up right on time (this rarely happens so I was immediately impressed), helped assess everything and was very honest. Despite how ugly the siding was, it was just cosmetic and didn't require any repairs (yay). The biggest roofing project could be deferred, but a smaller structure needed a new roof yesterday (it was decades old and I rebuilt everything but the roof 5 yrs ago so was a valuable investment). He gave me quotes on all the structures and came in at the lower range of average roofing costs. He was able to be out within a couple of weeks to do the small roof and they were timely, efficient, very clean and did a beautiful job. Jose also scouted around the structure after the job to make sure it was properly picked up after. Throughout the process he was very responsive in emails and there were never surprises. I have recommended him to neighbors and am saving to do the main roof in a year or two. He is a very honest, reliable business and family man with high integrity. Stay local and you will be so glad you did. I'd give him 10 stars if I could.

They weren't the lowest…read morebid, but the wide variety of shingle choices, colors and coatings were better than everyone else. Most places that came in around their price used the cheapest shingles with a shorter warranty period. That coupled with the conversation I had with Bryan sold me. He was knowledgable and seemed to really care about what he does. The roof looks fantastic. They used high quality materials and what I asked for is what I got. Can't say anything better than that. They were on time every morning (much to the teenager's vexation) and cleaned up every day. My driveway was actually cleaner than when they began. They completed the job on time and dead on the budget. I repeat, ON BUDGET. The quote was what they charged me. And to me, that means a lot. Please keep in mind that this is a family business. If they don't call you back straight away they will get back to you as soon as they can. To the review that commented about another roofing company saying they had a bad reputation... They're the competition, probably not an unbiased opinion. Also... We have a structure covering our front porch that always looked like an afterthought. Like it didn't really belong. It was glass and it was always dirty. It was very close to the roof and was clogged with moss and leaves. Bryan and his crew did an excellent job of moving it up, putting plywood down, painting and roofing it. Now it looks like part of the house and I couldn't be happier.
