Today I went to the Honey Creek location and did okay getting some paint, but a cashier was outright rude to me at checkout, and my friend was told by a very dismissive employee that he couldn't get a lawnmower belt and blade because he "only" brought in the model and parts numbers for everything on the mower and the parts, but not the actual part itself. I was NOT impressed with the attitudes of these newer employees, and may well start taking my business elsewhere.

The staff is often unprofessional--slow to acknowledge customers, unwilling to assist, and at times just flat-out rude. What's even more disturbing is the underlying tone of racism that's hard to ignore. As a Black customer, I've repeatedly noticed that certain employees treat people differently based on race--offering help quickly to some while ignoring others. It's 2025, and this kind of behavior has no place in any business, let alone one that claims to serve the whole community. I've given this store more than enough chances, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere moving forward. I hope management takes a hard look at the culture they've allowed to fester here.

While walking through an aisle, a young employee asked if I needed help. I explained what I was looking for, and he took me to a section where he thought I'd find it. Despite trying to assist, he ultimately pointed me to a product he thought "might" do the trick, while casually mentioning that they didn't even carry the specific brand I had requested. As I made my way toward the front of the store to check out, I noticed a strange man wearing a ridiculous toupee staring at me with a blank face. His persistent gaze made me feel uneasy, so I decided to pass him and enter an aisle I thought would lead to the checkout. When I realized it didn't, I turned around--only to find him still standing there, staring at me. Since this strange-looking man refused to break his unsettling stare, I decided to approach him. Finally, he asked, with a blank stare, if I needed help. I asked him which way to the register, and he silently pointed, still wearing the same blank expression--which only further highlighted his guess what, kids? ridiculous a$$ TOUPEE!! The look he gave me felt so bizarre, as though I had asked his daughter to join me for a midnight showing of the movie Friday. To make it clearer: I felt like it was 1955, and my name was Emmett Till. Fortunately, another gentleman stepped in as I approached the register for a refund after I'd made the purchase and walked out, only to realize the product the younger employee suggested wouldn't work for my needs. He was kind, courteous, and knowledgeable, and he led me to the correct product while explaining its features. His professionalism saved the sale and bumped my initial one-star rating up to two stars, which I believe is fair. When I returned to the register, guess who was still standing at a distance, staring at me with a blank face? That same motherf*cker wearing a ridiculous A$$ TOUPE!!!! Oh, but wait--did you think it ended there? The younger man who had point-blank LIED TO ME earlier had now joined him. Together, they gave off a sudden vibe that was unmistakably reminiscent of fresh white sheets. To know that people like this still exist is mind-boggling, but fortunately, tools like Yelp now exist to assist you in pencil-whipping these MFs through honest reviews that can significantly impact such businesses.

I didnt notice until walking to the car. I waited in line for a $3 credit to my CC. Today, sent my house mate up to get a can of starter fluid to help get the mower running. She came back with a can of Gumout without the straw. She was told didnt need the straw - really ? A hardware associate thinks starter fluid does need the straw ? ROFL. That was the whole reason sending her up there.. if I needed to search out a straw I would have used the half can of starter fluid I already had........ she went back to return and it was a PITA so she just split. Ya'll need to get it together........... Mayfield use to be consistently top notch and now?,,,,,,,,,,, it's hit or miss and lately..........miss. I'm writing this to give constructive feedback not to dog you all......... I want you to succeed because I like the store........until lately.

Always take it higher up and speak with the manager. Lesson learned. Dryer stopped working 2 weeks and 2 days after purchase. Called customer service and spoke with a female employee who said we had to go through the manufacturer and that isn't true. We have 30 days to exchange and they're coming tomorrow.

As I walked past her counter, I am trying to figure out which isle i needed to go to get my items, when a man (Mr. James) ask if "you needed assistance), I did not believe he was speaking to me but HE WAS! Shocked to say the least. I informed him what I needed and he took me right to the location. I told him to just point and I will find it and he refused and walked me to the isle, lol. (#Shocking). The I asked where another item could be and I again asked to point because it was not his location, HE REFUSED AGAIN and walked me to the item I needed. This occurred three times. I asked for his manager because clearly he needed to know that he had an amazing employee. Mr. James came to the isle as well to assist because that was his area. Shortly after the manager, Mr. John came and he was so amazing and soooo professional. I informed him of this amazing experience at the store with his employees but he was just like them, very professional, ect. For the last five years since purchasing my home, I go to Home Depos very often (Clayton County) AND I HAVE NEVERRRRRRRR seen such caring, professional. Antonio you as well! To the manager Mr. John, you have demonstrated today strong leadership who has inspired your team to perform their best. As a customer I THANK YOU AND EACH ONE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES.
