We were driving our motorhome to Florida from Washington State, we broke down in Jackson, GA…read more After waiting 8 hours a small diesel shop with a mobile diesel mechanic was the only one to return our call. He came, ran diagnostics and got one code, turbo. His shop had our RV for 2 weeks and installed a new turbo. When we went to pick it up and drove 10 .miles she was still running with decreased power as before. They ran diagnostics again and came back turbo code again. They were honest and said at this point it's beyond their scope of practice and suggested we call MHC Diesel in McDonough, GA. We called MHC and filled them in on everything "Bring it in" MHC said. Confident this very large diesel facility would get her up and running right, we left it in their capable hands, or so we thought. First they said the actuator needed to be replaced, then the turbo needed to be replaced again because the actuater wasnt replaced when the turbo was and the actuator ruined the new turbo, even though it was only driven 10 miles. A second turbo needed to be installed. Of course they said we weren't able to use the warranty on our week old turbo because the 10 miles we drove it with the previous actuator ruined the new turbo. At neither place were we told the diagnostics code said actuator issue. We were told by MHC we needed a new actuator and new turbo. That didn't fix our RV, then we were told we needed a new injector, #3, we wanted to be proactive so we purchased and had them install all 6 injectors, why not since the mechanic said it really wouldn't take more time to install all 6 since he was already in there. We got another call to tell us they don't know what is wrong with our RV, our choices were to let them pull the engine and try to figure it out, have a Cummins mechanic come take a look at it at MHC or take it to the Cummins service facility in the next town. The mechanic said we could actually drive it there. It is our own ignorance for not searching for a nearby Cummins facility, we were distraught and in an unfamiliar state. Anyway, I called the Cummins service in Forest Park, GA to make arrangements for service. I told the gentlemen what has happened and what has been done. He advised very strongly that we do not drive the motorhome that it would more than likely make problems worse. We made arrangements to have it towed. Let me tell you, our motorhome is in much worse mechanical condition than it was when we took it to MHC. The whole motorhome shook violently and sounded horrible when started, it was actually terrifying and I insisted it be turned off immediately. We only started it to let it auto level after it was towed to Cumins. It went from taking it to MHC because it wasn't getting much power to picking it up like this. I guess we were supposed to feel grateful when we were charged only $11,000 +, they actually had the nerve to tell us the bill was actually $33,000 but to help us out they worked it down to $11,000. We would feel comfortable paying $11,000 if they actually fixed it and not returned it to us in much worse condition than they received it in. Why couldn't they just been honest and tell us to take it somewhere else that has actual knowledge and experience with diesel pusher motorhomes? Apparently there was one mechanic there that had RV experience, I'm it wasn't much considering. To add insult to injury our motorhome was a literal mess. Black grease/oil on the tile, carpet, steering wheel, seats and blood on the mirror in the bedroom. Please see the pictures I have included. I was able to clean the tile with a lot of work, the carpet is a complete loss and will need to be replaced. Of course we couldn't see this prior to paying because the slides were in and it was being loaded for tow. Only when we got it to Cumins and hooked to power were we able to see the mess. That's also when it was started and we observed how incredibly bad it was running/idling. Please, no generic owner or manager response unless you are genuinely concerned about this.

Customer service was wonderful! Thank you, Denise, for helping our driver get in and out…read moreefficiently. - The Dupps Company
