Art was a nice guy when we first met him and his team. But then again, find me sales people that aren't overly nice when they want to make big deals. It's what happens when s*** hits the fan and doesn't go as planned, when true character of a company and its employees stands out. It all started well, I'll admit that! Unfortunately, as major problems started to occur with every piece of equipment I was sold, I began getting the run around and was treated really poorly.
Not only did my "friends" in this company that were so eager to sell me all this failing equipment suddenly disappear and stop answering calls/texts, but the service department was a chaotic disaster at best! I am convinced they were pulling random people off the street asking them if they wanted to be mechanics for JD!? Every time my units went in for a repair, they actually came back worse. All of this was even in the first year of ownership; so under warranty. But the problems ALWAYS continued, all the way to the day warranties ended.
They sold us a 3-series tractor with all implements that come to find out later, had apparently been a "dummy" for their mechanics to learn on, but never mentioned that to us. We had issues with the tractor literally just stopping and blowing fuses all over the place, not long after we got it home and put it to work. They had to take it back several times, for weeks at a time and never actually fixed it. At one point, we got real snarky and even demanded a loaner because we couldn't do any of the work on the farm we bought it to do! It was never working and we had to wait weeks upon weeks for repairs that were never even done properly! My husband finally had to find a way to fix it himself because they would send it back and it would still shut down! Come to find out these ding dongs had shoved a paper clip in to the system to teach techs how to "bypass a safety feature" on the unit and then never removed it. It took multiple trips back to the shop though and they never figured it out, my husband found it and called them out on it; only then did the truth come out it was used for the mechanics to learn on and they forgot to remove it. Really!? Then the PTO went bad. Of course they wanted to charge us an arm and leg for coming to get it for service and we'd be without it probably over a month, so my husband was finally able to do that himself too.
Then the 4 seat brand new gator we bought with the tractor, was a disaster from the moment we purchased it. Upon delivery they had put bad fuel in it that ruined the system and it wouldn't even start! They take it back, claim to repair it, bring it back and they didn't connect the lines correctly and it starts spewing fuel all over my driveway. They take it back again, claim to fix it again. Then for an entire year and a half we have major problems with it refusing to start. Like the whole unit just kept dying. We finally had to take the gator to a different location with the district manager because This location couldn't fix. Now we know it's a manufacturer defect with the electrical. Even after repair though, we still have problems with the unit but now it's out of warranty and they are screwing us. Literally this thing should be lemoned, what we have been forced to deal with since purchase is absolutely insane! It's been a hunk of junk since the day we purchased it.
I have so many other problems with this dealership, I don't even have the space to mention it in this review. Our experience with JD (even the other locations and corporate) has been nothing short of an ongoing nightmare we are forced to deal with because we need this equipment so desperately for our farm. I cannot recommend enough going with a different brand and running away from this dealership! It's so sad, because JD has been a staple on farms for generations! But what we bought was utter trash that they refused to stand behind. Customer service is really a dying art these days and it really would behoove businesses to train people better and doing anything at any cost to stand behind the products they are selling. Not ghosting customers who have had ongoing major problems since the day all the equipment was purchased. This has now been two full years of problems with this equipment we were sold; all of it! Just a disaster! read more
