Stay away from their install services. I ordered 6 pre-hung interior doors and 3 pocket doors. I…read morewas told they won't install pocket doors, so I hired my own installer for those doors. The pocket doors were the first to be installed, and they were great. Worked perfectly. Unfortunately, the Lowe's installer then arrived and installed the pre-hung door. One of them abutted one the pocket doors, and suddenly that pocket door would no longer slide easily without getting scratched. The installer came out and spent about 5 minutes looking at it and said it was the pocket door that was the problem. Lowe's has taken the same position, and refuses to do anything else about it. They say it's my problem. I asked that another installer come take a look at it, and they claim no one else is available. It's my problem. Very poor customer service. I still have 2 more doors that need to be installed, and they expect me to allow the same installer to do the work. Shameful way to do business.. Lowe's refuses to stand by their work. Don't waste your time if you want proper installation with any kind of guarantee

Indeed, every other Ace (in the Tampa Bay region) literally, for our inquiry--didn't stock what we needed, said they didn't have access to getting it nor would they do anything related to further inquiring about it (as to the "Ace" warehouse)... i.e., oh well and tough luck; they cared very little if at all about serving a long-standing customer... assuming may be the same with other product needs and customers. AMY, at Cortez Ace Hardware, Bradenton FL ... made herself immediately available, had cheer and resolution in mind for this customer--resolving the matter with prompt product avail via pick-up at the Cortez store. We got AMAZINGLY GOOD PRICING at this store. We then went to HH Gregg which is new in town and supposedly giving excellent pricing. They were $1,500 over the price we got at Lowe's WITHOUT the extended warrantees, installation or a plug for the stove. They also did not have the model refrigerator or microwave we wanted. They had a more expensive fridge and a low end micro (the only frige and micro they had in that famous brand). Lowe's has a selection of several models in the same brand name. They have lots of other brands and items to choose from, too. This sounds like an ad, LOL. We were also impressed with the Lowe's salesperson's knowledge (Zach). We went back and made sure he got our sale. We know where to shop now, thank you Lowe's. Our only problem was their checkout person did not know how to properly ring up our sale. She could not get the entire order to appear on her register screen and started to give us a hard time about it as if we were mistaken (or lying or crazy, sheesh!). Our salesperson had to come to the front of the store and press a single key on her register in order for it to show our entire order. Nobody's perfect, but be aware of the potential for that because your order is established in the specific department, then you go to the front of the store to have the sale rung up - assert yourself if necessary so you get assurance of what you're buying.
