I must say I have been going to this particular Ace due to its location. Most and I say most of the time the staff is friendly, helpful, and very courteous. My last experience was awful. If you have a return or problem with an order they treat you like you are trying to scam them. I found a particular manager to be arrogant, demeaning, and physical threading as he got in my face. I'm a Bradenton Native. Went to school at Jessie P Miller, literally trapsing past the Crowder's Bros. Store since I was 5. This store, and the employees it has, are a Bradenton Staple. Put them and Shake Pit in a time capsule so people will understand the sense of community in this area. I'm personally shocked to see two one-star reviews, and as a Yelp Professional and also a Bradenton-born son, I have to assume they're in cahoots, and literally the ONLY PEOPLE in the world who would feel that way. This hardware store surprises me from time to time. Since I'm always fixing things at my old house, I'm never sure who is going to have the right part for some obsolete plumbing part or fixture. ACE usually has the part when no one else does. I've been going here for over 20 years. When I want to save time from running around to save a couple of bucks, I'm coming here to get everything I need for my small projects. One-stop-shop. They have lots of people to guide you through the store and find that obscure item, or gather a list of items quickly. I've been there so often, now that I can find nearly everything on my own and be on my way quickly. The store reminds me of the small town store that has a selection of everything. Lately, I've bought items for my car, my boat, house plumbing, house electrical, and other home projects. I notice my stress is less when I have a home repair emergency, and ACE is still open, because I pretty certain I'll have just what I need for the repair and be able to do the job that day. read more

If I could give this store a lower rating I would. I went there to purchase a pair of sunglasses. I was helped by one of their staff. I decided to buy this pair. They were taken up to the cashier. While waiting to be served I requested to look at them again as wanted to be sure the lens color was what I wanted. I was told these were expensive sunglass and could not look at them. I was treated as if I was a thief. Was unbelievable. I left and purchased them from another store. I will be in encouraging all my friends to not do business with a store that has such poor interpersonal skills. read more

This store is located right around the corner from where I live. I've been there many times and the staff is always polite, helpful and knowledgeable. I have shopped the gift store as well and it is very organized and well done. I read a few of the reviews on here from people that were upset with store security policies. I worked in retail and I don't think the people who wrote those reviews understand the thousands and thousands of dollars that retail shops lose every year to shoplifting. It could easily put a smaller store out of business. They would be foolish not to take precautions. It's a great store with a family owned type atmosphere. read more

I had been working in the yard all day, and at 5:30pm found myself in need of a hand saw in order to finish up. My neighbor wasn't home to borrow from, so I called ACE. The gentleman who answered, Matt, was very helpful. He said ACE had the brand I wanted (Corona), and asked if I would be picking it up tonight. I said yes, and Matt reminded me that the store closed at 6pm. When I arrived at the store it was close to closing, but I was greeted as soon as I entered. I headed down the aisle and a salesman (turned out to be Matt) asked if I had called about the pruning saw. I answered yes, he lead me to it, handed me the saw, I thanked him, paid, and was out the door before 6pm. I'm happy that our ACE Hardware Store employees care about their customers (even at the last minute). read more

Every year I shop in the gift shop! There is so much to look at- I couldn't wait! As soon as we arrived, the staff was cold. My teenager and preteen tried on fun Christmas hats and walked around with them on while looking for a special bday gift to buy . The grumpy register lady asked them both while next to me (passive aggressive) if they were going to buy the hats. Come on! Maybe I was? She was rude . My daughter returned the hat to its spot. Not friendly helper #2 followed us around like we were going to steal something... she offered some help to our gift shopping but made comments like the price was too highly for me to buy? So weird! She also was completely annoyed that my pre teen - who had the cute hat on. After 2 more comments to my children questioning them if they were going to buy the hat. I told my son no- put it back- I'm not going to - just on the principle of the rude staff. After making my purchase, my daughter and I moved to the front case to discuss the fudge and If we should bring it back to the family. #3 lady behind the counter then walked away from us and out from the counter!! At that moment I was really mad at their behavior ... I said forget the fudge - but told my daughter to go back around to the lady to ask politely for a sample that was behind the glass - just bc I knew it would annoy them . Ugh - my shopping was cut short- I was so disappointed . I had several things I was interested I. For buying ... but I felt like they were annoyed we were there, and treated us like thieves - just gross I will not be going back - life is too short and too many great stores . Very rude staff and condescending. Even reading someone else's review where the staff said the sunglasses were "expensive" was a demonstration of how poor the staff treats their customers. If you walked into a Louis Vuitton store and tried on their items; their staff is not saying how "expensive" the item is and that the customer can't try it on... Seems as if the staff is just upset to be working and doesn't want to deal with customers so they brush them off in a rude and demeaning tone. Definitely a place that needs some work in the customer service department and their policies... Perhaps it's the management because if there are "policies" at this store; maybe post these policies on the doors, or around the store so that customers know. MUCH better off going to Home Depot where the employees treat you like actual humans. We are right down the street on Palma Sola and would much rather make the drive to Home Depot than to ever go back here. read more

Their staff are always friendly and never pushy.
