I have to say this is probably one of the best Chinese fast food restaurant I've ever seen period. Of course I cannot judge their Chinese American food items, which I do not order. But they have an extensive menu of fast items primarily for Chinese. They write in both Chinese and English on white boards. If you are adventurous you will be rewarded. I've ordered this through DoorDash twice and this last time will be my last time. The first time they forgot my sweet-and-sour sauce for the sweet-and-sour chicken; They gave me the wrong fried rice and forgot the wonton strips for my soup. This time half of the chicken was in edible because it was so overcooked and the chicken was burnt inside and chewy 75% of the wonton strips were burnt. This non-descript restaurant doesn't look fancy - it's set up with 8 tables, cheap seats, and old furnishings, but what it lacks in ambiance it totally makes up for in FLAVOR! Our friend from China is attending Virginia Tech, and she was excited to share this place because of its authenticity. We discovered that the printed English menu is different from the Chinese menu hand-written on the white boards. Our friend even ordered a traditional Chinese cabbage and pork dish that wasn't on the menu, but the owner/cook was happy to make it for us. Lowkey a great Chinese restaurant in terms of Blacksburg area. Workers are kind and it's at an optimal location in downtown right next to campus. One of my international Chinese friends took me to this restaurant and showed me the special Chinese menu on the side and let me tell you, it's great. My goto order is usually salt black pepper pork or chicken (small) usually good enough to serve myself and it's quite a large portion for one person. Definitely filling. I also really enjoy the general tso's over rice (small). I don't normally eat general tso but it's one of the best I've had just due to the huge pieces of chicken. read more

One of the worst takeout establishments ever!!! This place poses a health hazard to all. I ordered the kung pao chicken and beef and broccoli. To my surprise, I find mouse droppings and a dead moth in the food. I called and informed them of my findings. With no apologies, the female employee just yelled "No refund." and hung up. I went back to the establishment to show them the mouse droppings and the dead bug. The crazy lady then snatched the food out of my hand and starts yelling at me in broken English ranting "You poo poo!" Then the psycho employee starts cursing me out in Chinese. I asked for the manager's telephone number and she says she doesn't know it and continues to yell at me in Chinese. If you value your health, DO NOT EAT HERE...EVER!! This small hole in the wall place has delectable food. When stopping by for a quick visit when passing through town this location provided delicious pork belly with rice. Their menu is vast, they are completely authentic, they are inexpensive, and service is quick. The location is rather cluttered inside, but not dirty. Definitely worth trying! I can still taste the pork belly and I'm now 1 week from having it! I wish I could experience that melt in your mouth savory perfectly portioned bite sized piece of pork belly again soon. Probably the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten and that is not an understatement. We did take-out, so this might be different if we dined in. We ordered two lo means: Chicken and Shrimp. The noodles were bland and old. The shrimp was super tiny and didn't taste fresh. We also ordered the Crispy Beef Steak, but instead of crispy, it was extremely soggy and soft. It looked also very old and dingy. In some dishes, they had king sized shrimp which actually tasted pretty good. However, the chicken and beef did not taste as fresh/remotely standard as some restaurants. It was below average. The best thing was the egg drop soup and it was the generic kind that basically every Chinese restaurant has. Overall, I would not recommend. Cheap food, but horrible quality. read more

This is the closest Chinese place to Virginia Tech (except for the Chinese food in D2 and Owens), but it is rather good. It looks like a typical Chinese fast food restaurant, but keeping in mind that it's in an area where Chinese (or Asian) food isn't renowned, it's pretty good. It's a little reminiscent of a China King restaurant back home, but the service is decent, the food preparation easy, and there's plenty of places to sit if you're there with friends. My boyfriend and I ordered the lo mein noodles and the shrimp fried rice when we went, and we ordered it to go. The fried rice was really good - we've usually ordered that when we go, and for you college kids, it also reheats very well. The lo mein noodles were a little bland, which I didn't like as much. We've also ordered the curry chicken, which tasted like curry, but once again, the chicken was a bit bland. We also ordered beef one time, but it was similarly bland. Their shrimp fried rice is still good though! (better than the rice they serve on campus) The prices are also pretty cheap, and they're open until 11:00PM every day, so it's easy to get food after the dining centers at Virginia Tech close. Our meal started with the pork buns which were dry and flavorless. I had the home style pork belly that to my dismay was bland and lacked the delicious broth one would expect to accompany any properly cooked pork belly. She had the orange chicken that admittedly was better than my meal but still lacked anything memorable. Not to mention our service at the register was rude. Being from Vancouver which had a large population of Chinese I know good Chinese food. This place from what I've found is the best you can get for the middle-of-no-where-Virginia. It is a hole in the wall with typical Americanized Chinese dishes ran by a local family. For the first few times I ordered off the normal menu until one day I saw a white board to the left of the menu offering many other items. The side menu is in Chinese/English and has some more "authentic" dishes. I use to get the beef soup they had and it kind of tasted like some of the stuff I get while I'm at home. The woman who greeted me did not smile once, ran off to make my dish without asking how I would like my rice prepared, and assumed that I wanted it to go, without asking and after serving it to me. This place may be in the middle of nowhere, but the food lacks even an attempt at flair. All of the vegetables are cut into plain cubes, half of the dish is rice, the portion of meat was small and unflavorful, even the complimentary fortune cookie was stale. The american menu is decent but if you go, I would definitely try the chinese side of the menu. This place is the closest you will get to any real chinese food in blacksburg. My favorite is the pork chop and onions or the zhan zhou fried rice(sp). It is essentially the same as eating a pork chop with the stir fry sauce or house special fried rice.
