Very polite people. Great food and quick service. I ordered in person and got my food quickly but ordering over the phone would probably be even more efficient.

A great find on our road trip from NY to NOLA. Vegan-friendly, with the menu clearly noting…read moreveg-friendly dishes. We stopped in Blacksburg for an overnight stay and I was desperate for something to eat that wasn't from a bag at that point of the evening. If you know me, you know I'm always in the mood for Chinese food and if it's Sichuan, I'm at absurd levels of contentment. Spicity is a swell little spot in a strip mall and has plenty of seating. With it being right after New Years and at the end of winter break, it was very quiet and blissfully empty (I'd had enough of holiday crowds), as was literally every other restaurant we passed in town. It's spacious, has plenty of seating and has a pleasant atmosphere, if a little bright for my liking. Not that I cared because dry pot is on the menu! I started with a tofu ribbon app that is absolutely delicious (not spicy to me, but I think it had a little chili oil). And the cabbage hot pot, which I ordered extra spicy and they delivered! The bits of tofu skin made it even better. While I wasn't a huge fan of it being overwhelmed by bell peppers, I feel like it's one of those things I'd be able to adjust if I came back (perhaps next year?) They get major bonus points for being open late, too. Looks like delivery is until 9 but the restaurant is open til 11 on Fri/Sat, 10 on Sundays and 10:30 all other nights. Driving through so many small college towns, I'm seeing so many places that are only open until 8:30 or 9.

I got edamame (4/5) and dry pot frog (4.5/5). There was a lot of edamame for only being $4! It was…read moregood, but some of the prices were a little caked in salt. The dry pot frog was great; the frog had a nice and crispy crust, and it was not too spicy! The service was good (4/5); our waited was friendly! The interior of the restaurant is nice and clean (4/5)!

Was looking for a quick and healthy option on Blacksburg, and this place did not disappoint…read more Location: hard to find - it's in the 2nd floor of the Gilbert place building. Get to the 2nd floor parking lot by turning up the ramp from Turner St. then just walk in. No access from inside Gilbert place academic building - must enter from outside. Food: healthy options with some sauces that kick (if you want). I got the lion meatballs bowl with knife cut noodles - yum! Like the simplicity, healthy options, and that it's very easy to take to-go

This is a fast casual place, one native to NYC but apparently the founders have Virginia Tech ties…read moreand so have expanded here. It was in the offing seemingly forever and they're still working the kinks out, with some of the noodles being unavailable when I checked, as well as their tea. By and large, I have not seen Asian cuisines in the fast casual world; Chipotle tried to get a spinoff called Shophouse going but it never really took off. The poke bowl places are the only ones I can think of that have really succeeded in this niche. Junzi promises some legitimately Chinese flavors, and it did deliver. The knife cut springy wheat noodles were thankfully back in stock when I decided to order, and they have a delightful texture. To fill out a bowl, a few vegetable options are available, and two different types of tofu are among the proteins. I found the griddled tofu mouthwatering and it did have a nicely crisped edge. The suite of other options was not huge but did include some nice things like Mandarin oranges and bok choy. I got a salad and a noodle bowl, and having skipped breakfast, was able to scarf down both bowls. The salad doesn't make a meal by itself is what I'm saying. I see some room for improvement in the menu, but when I've looked for literally anything Chinese and vegetarian-friendly in Southwest Virginia, I have not found much worth my time. The sauces and ingredients here delivered the taste I was hoping for.
