Surprisingly good, satisfying, and value-priced Chinese food tucked away in a strip mall in Radford, Virginia. I was in town visiting my fiancé's family for the holidays and when his stepfather suggested Chinese food, I hemmed and hawed. Living in San Francisco, being half Chinese American, and generally being a bit of a picky eater - I wasn't expecting much. But ultimately, my gnawing hunger gave way and decided to give the menu a-go. Much to my surprise - the food was quick, and surprisingly good. We placed the order and about 30 minutes later went to go pick it up. I don't think they do any indoor seating at this time. We definitely ordered above and beyond what was needed for a party of 4, and ate nearly all of it. Is it authentic? Not particularly. Healthy? Probably not. Panda Express-fast food? Nope. But if you're coming in with your expectations managed - you're in for a treat. Vegetarian Egg Rolls - 3/5: Deep fried with a bubbly crust. These didn't have much flavor but the crust, which reminded me of McDonald's Apple Pie, was satisfying. BBQ Pork Fried Rice - 4/5: Portion was a little small (could've been my error in selecting the wrong size) but flavors were good and tasted like fried rice. It could've used a little more soy sauce but otherwise got the job done. Egg Foo Young - N/A: My stepfather in-law ordered this. It's basically an omelet with soy-sauce gravy. He raved about it. I didn't touch it. Prawns with Ginger Roots - 5/5: OUTSTANDING. The ginger sauce is so flavorful and fresh, and the prawns tasted fresh and clean. We ordered two containers of this and I finished one, on my own. I would order this again in a heart beat. General Tso's Tofu - 4/5: Solid. A little sweet, but the fried cubes of tofu held up well in the sauce and were satisfying. Singapore Rice Noodles - 5/5: Tasted exactly like this dish should - with good portion size. Would definitely order again. If you're in town, and looking for some tasty takeout, I would absolutely recommend Lin's. read more

This business has adapted wonderfully for a COVID-19 carry out scenario. Everything was delicious and the servings filled the carry out containers! We are vegetarian, and were ecstatic with the diverse ways they did tofu and vegetables. The line in had a unique ginger based sauce and the Kung Pau tofu was so delicious. The lady we ordered from was articulate and triple checked our order, and everything was what we had ordered! This leaves us to presume those with poor reviews are either fake or can't speak English clearly on a phone. They should do their orders on the store website instead! We are new to the area this is the second Chinese food experience we have had and it was outstanding! customer service was wonderful they were able to customize the chicken mei fun to my liking we really appreciated the way that they handle the food as far as separating sauces from chicken and dumplings so that they don't become soggy! As an educator with Radford City Schools we often times use Lin's House as reward for our students. Yesterday we went in person and placed our order. Our students had been looking forward to our Chinese delivery and movie day for a month. What we received upon delivery was one missing meal and one incorrect meal out of five total. I called and spoke with the manager who was unapologetic and said because we did not pay for the missing meal there was nothing she could do. She said she either took the order wrong or we did not read it to her even though we had printed out a copy and read it to her IN PERSON. I told her we would take our business elsewhere and she hung up on me, how unprofessional. We will be telling all of the public schools in Radford to do the same. read more

I have decided to adjust my past review of Lin House because of a couple disappointing experiences we had there. My wife and I are (mostly) vegetarian. At least I am. She's veg all the way. We order specifically vegetarian menu items from Lin House but on a couple occasions we've found pieces of beef in our orders. While I understand that they use the same cooking surface for all orders it just seems to me that if a person orders a "vegetarian" meal it should be prepared in a way that would not leave the consumer wondering. Don't get me wrong. The food here is great, delivery is on time, and prices are more than fair. I was just a little disappointed in the lack of attention put into the specific order. Overall though I still think they deserve 4 stars. read more

I don't know if it was the 4 hour drive that made me ravenous and the food here taste amazing, but it did. Got some Lo Mein and the Dragon &...? dinner. Both were good & delicious. Neither the spring rolls nor the egg rolls came with meat. I like meat. :( Now, my only knock was how the place appears. There was a table (one of like 5 in the place, it's mainly delivery and take out) that was piled high with what seemed like garbage. I mean like 24" piled high. The was a little girl seated there when I first came in. Appeared to be about age 3. There were a couple toys on that table, but also empty toy boxes and (what I can only assume) empty orange juice boxes. Odd. I ordered and went outside, back to my son & wife in the car to wait. Came back in after about 20 minutes and waited a couple more. During that time the little girl came out from behind the counter holding like 100 of those wax paper bags they put egg rolls or spring rolls in. Despite the place being packed, she proceeded to sit in the middle of the floor and start spreading out the wax paper bags all over the floor. I forgot to mention; yes the food is amazing for it being in Radford. But do not ever get it delivered. I had it delivered and it was 30 minutes past the projected time of delivery. I told them I wanted the food but discounted, or with a credit to my name or something. I told them I didn't want to pay full price, so when the driver finally came to my door they refunded my money and they told me to send the driver back with the food. So I kept my money but didn't get my food. I was extremely disappointed, I am a huge fan and their lack of customer service is a huge negative in my books. They do not know how to handle situations like these appropriately. I still recommend them, but beware, your food might be very late and you won't be compensated for it. read more

After about 45 minutes of waiting for the delivery, we were disappointed to discover that the order was screwed up: We were given shrimp egg foo young (probably not cleaned; didn't check, didn't want to know) instead of roast pork egg foo young and the chicken egg foo had no chicken that I could see or taste. My friend called and complained. We were on hold for awhile. Eventually, the girl apologized and asked if we wanted a freebie when we came back (we told her we'd be leaving the area tomorrow morning) or if we would be willing to wait for a replacement order, but she said it would probably take more than 30 minutes. She asked if we would be ok just accepting the order. At this point, we were starving and tired. We agreed to accept.
