Banchan included potatoes, japchae, octopus, kimchi, and purple rice, which was a nice touch. I don't usually love purple rice, but this was good. No fried fish like some other spots offer, but everything else more than made up for it. Decor is simple and bright inside. Beef Tofu Soondobu, Spicy Level 6 ($18, 8/10) - Pretty solid soondobu, comes with mushroom in the standard option, which was an interesting touch - Portion of beef was moderate - Spice level 6 was tolerable, not overwhelming (though I'm not great at judging spice levels, so probably could've gone higher) - Lots of tofu in the bowl, really enjoyed this - roth flavor was great, not the best ever, but definitely not the worst Overall, really enjoyed this spot. If you want to feel like you are walking down the streets of Seoul and quickly ducked into a charming pub for a late night bite then this is the place for you. My friend and I found this place a little over a year ago, and can honestly say this is the best Korean food in Austin! Nowhere beats this place in authenticity, quality, and overall hospitality. When you eat here you feel apart of a big family dinner. Just have yourself some Somaek and a kimchi pancake and let your cares drift away. read more

This is my go to spot for night time eat. It's has a homie feels and a causality place where you can go eat, drinks and talk with your friends. The owner is the sweet lady, she cooks all the food so you know it's good. I usually order the hot pot and spicy squid. The hot pot is big, it can feed 3-4 people and her side dishes is homemade too. I've been going there for over a year and never been disappointed. Plus she open until 2am, so you know it is the spot to go when you hungry after 12. read more

I am not quite familiar with Korean food, at least not as much as with Chinese food. But when I visited this Korean restaurant with my friends I loved every dish that was served on our table. We shared all five entrees with each other. Everything was interesting and tastu except a beef soup or something. It was too thick. Their side dishes were good and it was great that they refilled free of charge! I will definitely go back here myself later. read more

Came here again for some home style Korean food, this place is honestly such a gem, a hiddden gem at that. I never realized cornflakes make the ice cream even yummier! I'm seriously impressed and can't wait to come back. Here, everything is grab it yourself, buffet style. AYCE Dinner ($36 per person weekend price, plus tax and a 15% large party surcharge, total $47 per person) PROS: - Being all you can eat and self serve made it easy to keep grabbing what we wanted, though we were seated a bit far from the buffet area - Great selection of seafood, hot pot ingredients, fish balls, and vegetables, everything looked really fresh - Extensive sauce bar to build your own hot pot dipping sauce - Solid dessert section with ice cream, plus premade hot foods like japchae, tteokbokki, and fries, all pretty tasty - They do offer bulgogi, which was well marinated and tasted great Hot pot broths are pretty standard (tonkotsu, miso, tomato, etc.) and flavorful, though again you're cooking the same frozen meat in there, so tenderness is limited CONS: -Meat quality. Everything is frozen, so it's not the best, and the brisket in particular was a bit tough after cooking Overall, a great spot for a group get together if people are craving both hot pot and KBBQ in one place. Really good selection of hot food and dessert, my only real complaint is the meat quality. That said, $36 for a weekend all you can eat dinner is a pretty reasonable price given everything included.

I'm a fan of their cold noodles, where they add a few drops of wasabi oil, followed by a healthy squirt of vinegar into their chilled beef broth. The slight spice, vinegar, broth, sesame seeds, and sliced Korean pear make for a wonderfully refreshing bite. The cold noodles are stretchy with a slight chew--just make sure they cut them (or you cut them yourself). Their grilled mackerel comes with a nice, smokey exterior. Butterfly after they bring it out, and then remove the internal skeleton, and you'll have nice meaty chunks. Their porridge portions are very larger. Seemingly sharable, and tasty. They don't have pine nut porridge though. The galbi tang has a great, garlicky bone broth. Within, you'll fish out large chunks of galbi that have been stewed for hours. Served with white rice. The banchan collection is reasonably varied and fairly executed. If you want something hot as a beverage, you can request their barley tea, though sometimes they'll just provide you with it in place of water. They also offer BBQ, but their bbq galbi tends to be fatty. Anyways, definitely give many items on their menu a try, and they will happily provide you with recommendations; they know what's good to eat.
