Beef Stew Soup had about 8 pieces of beef, carrots, onion slices. Also came with Cilantro, a lime slice, jalapeño slices and bean sprouts. I've been there three or four times, and each time it's been great. Affordable and delicious Banh Mi at 7.50, and their peanut sauce is awesome. Their Vietnamese Coffee packs a punch, too. The lady and (I assume) her husband who run it are friendly, and the food they serve is authentic. It's a nice calm place despite being on such a busy street, and even though they sometimes look understaffed at a glance, you never feel it as a customer. I really appreciated their amazing food. L O L number one this place was open early on Sunday morning before noon! Was craving some delicious beef pho and was around the Modesto area, and this spot popped up. Let me start by saying how welcoming the host/waiter was which made the atmosphere very homey. Ordered the #19 which was beef pho with steak and meatballs and pork spring rolls as an appetizer. They were super delicious and that peanut sauce for the spring rolls was perfect. My first experience eating here was not good at all. I put in an ordered to go, confirmed on their Yelp page that they accept credit card but when I arrived, I was asked by an employee that they only take cash and was told use the ATM to pull out cash. Afterwards, I asked another employee who came to take the payment that they do accept credit card! That was very inconvenient and false information. When I got home, we found a piece of hair in one of the pho broth container and a bug in the other!!!! This is not a clean or sanitary place to eat food from. Besides the unwanted ingredients in our pho broth, it was alright. There are definitely better places elsewhere to have pho. The pork egg rolls were not as good as they looked. They were mushy on the insides, it was probably an old batch. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone and I would never eat here again. read more

The pho here is pretty good. It isn't as good as Pho 38 in oakdale I wouldn't recommend the egg rolls. They were terrible. First of all, egg rolls at a Vietnamese restaurant should come with a lettuce wrap set up and a cup of fish sauce with pickled carrots in it... These are standard expectations and I guess they dont know this up here in small town usa.. LOL they serve burgers and fries here.. Fairly new to Modesto and in search of a good Pho. Tried this one as it rated 4 stars. The restaurant itself is clean and neat. The reception was welcoming. I ordered the combination beef soup. I had it ToGo and it was generous, like any other Pho place. The broth was more flavorful than that of a previous Pho place that I have visited. But it still did not meet my expectations. Not bad, though. Also got the spring roll and that was okay. I love that they also have fruit teas. Tried the guava-flavored tea with rainbow jelly. That was refreshing. I probably will go back and explore more from their menu. Will ask for their specialty next time. They prefer cash but do take credit cards for a fee. read more

I'd like to start this off by saying I'm originally from the Bay Area and we have EXCELLENT pho out there, so moving to Central Valley has been an interesting experience looking for pho up to par. Then my bf and I came across iPho. Don't be fooled by all the other Asian/fusion dishes and Americanized menu, this a fabulous pho spot! The broth is clean and tastes legit (not like pho packets I've def encountered at other nearby pho places). They have legit meats (I've been to so many pho places that don't have good tendon or tripe). I wanted to order a Bun Bo Hue but "bun bo hue" isn't on their menu cause they had to slightly adjust for the area so it's "beef noodle spicy soup" - still very delicious. My bf and I have literally come at least 1-2x a month since we found this gem to make us feel our old hometown. We also love the owner, Leon. We talk to him every time we come to iPho, he's super chill, friendly paired with a smile on his face! Always knows to give us the sauces that aren't on the table like roasted hot chili, shrimp paste, etc (many pho places out here don't have the small sauce plates on the table or heck even the small plates -- i think they put the sauces directly into the soup def not needed for the broth here). There were another 2 tables before us that also placed their order before us and my chicken soup came before any of their food. I've read some not-so-great reviews about this place but I actually like what they serve. I've ordered the banh mi, and it's one of their good choices on the menu. The chicken pho is mediocre, was a little bland with very large chewy slices of chicken. The chow fun was not bad, I would recommend adding vegetables to it. In fact, when I ordered it I asked for a side of broccoli because all it has was chicken. It was also a little bit on the oily side. I like that they have different flavored milk teas! That's a double thumbs up for me :-) A lot of the Vietnamese restaurants in town only serve a Thai milk tea, this place serves a variety of flavors from mango milk tea to passion fruit (and it's not powdered either ;-)! ) The ambience is nice, bright and spacious. Also clean with tvs on the wall which my parents would like when they come to visit so they can watch the sports games. They have a sister place next door which is a salon I have yet to try called inails. I can't recommend the (beef) pho tai. It is too sugary sweet - too sweet even for Modesto. If you read any of my Vietnamese pho reviews for restaurants across the country, then you'll find I'm sensitive to the sweetness and msg levels in pho. I grew up eating my mom's Vietnamese cooking, which sways more towards the northern style (she was born in the north, but as a child her family moved to south because of the war) which tends to be more savory. I've come to understand than Saigon style food and pho have more sugar than northern styles. Still, the craving for pho can become too strong to ignore sometimes. So I still go out for pho tai on occasion instead of making it myself (a crazy, time-consuming process). But the pho tai here at iPho was extremely sweet. The sugar overwhelmed any nuanced flavor from the broth (meat flavor, bone broth, spices, seasoning). All I could taste was sugary water. My hope was that the grilled pork and rice noodles dish would be good. The pork was sliced into thin pieces, which made it easy to eat. However, I did not like the flavor or cooking method they applied to the pork. I had hoped for grilled pork. This pork tasted like it was stir-fried in a wok with a sweet sauce instead. I was not expected a stir-fry flavor. Traditionally, the pork is grilled on an open flame and retains it's pork flavor. The only redeeming items were the Vietnamese dessert (che) topped with crushed ice and served in a to-go plastic cup with lid and a long plastic spoon and the strawberry smoothie with pearls. They were tasty. I don't mind sugar in the dessert, just please use less of it in the pho. Vietnamese food is supposed to be healthy overall, but when it is overladen with sugar - it is not healthy. read more

Pho took 15-20 minutes, taste was average soup was very dark, noodle was mushy, two thin slice of a meat ball (essentially 1/4 of one meatball) .service could be better since many other customer was waiting for their food and other customer waiting to be greeted.
