Really confused by some of the reviews for iPho. I went down there to order off of the menu because I did not want to try and figure out what was what over the phone. The shop itself is fine, no problems there. The girl at the register was friendly and suggested I take a menu with me. Perfect, just what I was looking for. I ordered Spring Rolls, Pork Banh Mi, Beef Pho, Wonton Soup, Egg Noodle Seafood Soup, and the "Vermicelli Noodle Grilled Pork". I called it Bun, but the girl taking my order told me it was not Bun. The description screams Bun, weird. 48 minutes later my order was ready. Really blown away here as these items are fast to assemble which is the essence many Vietnamese dishes (Broth for the Soups excluded of course). So this is going to be amazing because they took so long to really nail it. Okay time to unpack and enjoy. Or....not. 1. Spring Rolls were a joke. Shrimp was flavorless and the Banh Trang (Rice Paper Wrapper) was like chewing on a dried pig ear for dogs. Gross. 2. Their Banh Mi is described as having pate, awesome. I make pate regularly and a legit Ban Mi should have it. There was this weird smudge of grey/brown sludge on one side of the roll which, was not crispy at all. I assume this is their pate. Pork was flavorless and the veggies were unremarkable. Sad, I love Banh Mi. Go to Jim's Donut and Bagel shop for a good VietSammy they are awesome. 3. With the exception of the Wontons themselves, which were nice and not too thick, the Wonton soup was a let down. Broth was weird, almost like it was built with bullion or some sort of new fangled concentrate (better not be pre-made frozen dishwater). By this point I really wasn't going to see an awesome dish, so I was resigned choking down this $60+ order of crap. 4. Egg Noodle Seafood Soup. Ugh, bad bad bad. Seafood was a thawed out mixed bag of various cheap sea creatures. If you've been to an asian market or even mexican mercado you know the bag I speak of. Again accompanied by that weird broth. Same bizarre manufactured flavor. 5. Beef Pho. Now this is where things get personal. There are 3 Vietnamese dishes I crave pretty much all the time. Banh Mi, Bun, and Beef Pho. Combination Beef Pho to be exact. I love offal such as cartilage and tripe. This soup was an absolute failure and left me aggravated. AGAIN weird broth, poor ingredients, and lackluster veggies. 6. Now for the "Un-Bun". Meat was obliterated and the veggies were like the rest. I'm glad that the girl at the counter said that this item was not Bun, because it wasn't. It was just BAD. Waited too long and paid too much money for this slop. Will not come back to this place as they showed a lack of competence or respect for an amazing cuisine. I am going to walk into the next Vietnamese joint I run across without checking Yelp first as I am totally confident it will be better. Change your name to iPhail, it would be more accurate. And a little advice. If you're going to have a family feud or pissing match in the kitchen, take it out back or wait till after service. The arguing could be heard in the "dining room". read more

It's been forever since I wrote a review (2012), and I've realized how often I use Yelp to try new places. I've also noticed people actually find my reviews useful so for that, I'm going to start rating places on Yelp again! What a better way to start with this restaurant. Not gonna lie, I was impressed. Clean inside. Spacious seating. Customer service was great. The guy that served us was actually very nice. We had 5 minutes to get there before the place closed but the guy was nice enough to let us in. At first, I was a little hesitant because I assume the food at that time won't be as fresh anymore. But I was wrong! My spring rolls were delicious, fresh, popping with flavors! Their sandwich was amazing. Bread was soft. Beef Pho soup was tasty. They even have stylish plates. I came here when they did the grand opening, then they closed for a few months and then opened back up! I'm really glad they opened a Pho place pretty close to my house, it's very clean inside (has been every single time I've been) the decor is nice. The employees are really nice, they always come to check on you. They also have the building next door iNails, which is fine with me as long as the buildings aren't open to each other, I have no problem with them having more than one business! My husband & I always get the Chicken soup! One of the things I don't care for is the containers they have the sauces in (they are in mustard looking containers and cut the tips off so you can squeeze it out, sometimes it gets stuck, worried I'm going to squeeze and it squirt all over me lol) I did order the Beef Pho to go, it was piping hot even when I got home! Although the beef was a little tough. We liked the beef broth, but we will stick to the Chicken from now on. read more

THE THAI HOUSE, Always fresh food Then my Second choice (Modesto Sukiyaki is closed till December. I had to get lunch. I went to iPHO and asked for any Vegan dish, the guy did not understand the word Vegan. So I asked for chow fun with just veggies and tofu!! To go. As I took a bite of the Tofu it was Spoiled rotten, so bad and horribly sour. Disgustingly inedible. After throwing almost $12 for garbage, I called to notify them of the rotten tofu. They told me it was a different kind of tofu. UMMM NO IT WAS ROTTEN, I said, I know the difference between something edible and rotten. They said they would remake it. I said Never again would I step foot in a place that should freakin know how long their tofu has been there. Please don't get sick. And go to another place, place was also dirty. I was passing through here on my way up the 99 and this is an absolute gem! I implore you to try it if you're ever in the area. Always fast service , seated right alway, very clean place, good service. Pho is always tasty and hot. Shrimp springrolls were fresh , made to order which is good. Also the fried potstickers are a must try so good. Not a fan of pho? They also have other Vietnamese dishes to choose from, so something for everyone. A lot of parking and very easy to find. First of all, I like the play of the name (iPhone?) making it memorable in that sense. It is a small shop in a little strip mall. I ordered to go and waited, chatting with someone I knew who was also a first-timer (thanks to Amy Arreygue for both of us). She was enjoying the won ton soup and fried won tons and I had ordered the won ton soup and egg rolls. The won tons were in a flavorful chicken broth, served to go with vegetables on the side for the soup. The container couldn't hold anything more. #;^). There was enough soup for an abundant second meal of it. The egg rolls, while smaller than those served at some of the other oriental places, were very tasty and had far more meat than probably any other place where I've ordered. They were served up with the sweet and spicy sauce I like. Two meals for a very reasonable price! I will be returning. Pleasant and helpful staff who was a good educator into the Vietnamese food culture. read more

Ok I've been here 3 times.. the pho is good. Not amazing but good. I also ordered the lemon grass chicken. I got it home and opened the the food and all I could smell was fish. Yes I know Vietnamese food has fish oil in many dishes. But I don't eat seafood and never have I been to any place that had that much odor. I took a bite and almost vomited. It has a awful fish taste, with a chunky chili paste. So I asked to exchange. No problem in doing so. But they did warn me what comes with the chili garlic fish paste sauce! Appreciated. We also got pork friend egg rolls. Quite small/skinny for the price. I order a non meat pho for my daughter who's very sick and it had meat. Ok no biggie I'll pick out. The Pork Bahn Mi was mediocre at best. Bug chucks of pork instead of thinly sliced. Won't be making it a regular stop but good for when Le Saigon, Phoenix noodle house or Pho 7 are closed. This place has some of the best pho I've ever had. The chicken rice noodle pho was incredibly filling, but not heavy that it hurt my stomach. All the ingredients smelled and tasted fresh. The cinnamon milk tea was also insanely delicious. It paired very well with the pho, especially after adding jalapenos in it. The only downside to this establishment is the understaffed workers here. They did bust their busts and got our food out very quickly though, so kudos to them! We will definitely come back to get our pho fix here! read more
