This was my first time at Happy Nails and I'll admit I was a little nervous after reading some reviews. My partner got me a gift certificate for the holidays after a recommendation from a coworker, though, and I prefer to support Vietnamese places so I wanted to give them a try--and I am SO HAPPY I DID! Originally I'd made an appointment for a pedicure but upon walking in saw they do Gel-X so asked if I could switch and they were happy to do so. My nail tech, Brandon, was young and the absolute sweetest. I'm not someone who gets their nails done regularly so I wasn't aware that for the Gel-X they don't do traditional manicure-style cuticle care and instead use the dremel, which for me is a huge sensory/pain issue. After explaining this to Brandon he was very quick to accommodate--after confirming I was okay paying a little extra for the tools used proceeded to do my cuticles as requested. Furthermore, he would check in regularly about pressure when using the dremel tool and asked before using it close to the cuticle line which I deeply appreciate. Brandon also made sure to double check about the color I chose to ensure it was the correct one, and was incredibly precise in his work throughout the entire appointment--excellent attention to detail and very precise in his work! Overall, Happy Nails really lives up to its name--the atmosphere was mellow and friendly, and I am happy making this my go-to place! I recently visited Happy Nails for a pedicure and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I want to be clear that I fully respect that not everyone speaks English, but in this case, the communication gap created multiple issues that could have been avoided. Before starting, I asked two staff members who spoke English to let my technician know that I did not want lotion used--only exfoliator--since I had a spray tan scheduled. They acknowledged and understood, but when the time came, lotion was still applied. What was frustrating was that those same employees noticed and didn't step in to clarify. I also asked for a thin French tip design on my toes. I tried to politely explain my preference, but it felt dismissed, and I was made uncomfortable by nearby staff reacting and snickering. I ended up not speaking up further because I felt embarrassed. The most serious issue was with an ingrown nail. I asked for help with it, and after some confusion, the technician began cutting but instead of addressing the nail, she cut into my skin. It caused significant bleeding and intense pain. I asked her to stop because it was unbearable, but there was no acknowledgment or apology, and the service continued as if nothing happened. I left in a lot of pain, and now my toe is still throbbing to the point where it's difficult to walk. Cute nails, but not so cute service. I have a mild condition and it has never been an issue to any nail salon place. The lady who did my nails had little to no patience with me and was just so rude. I don't have a lot of mobility in my right hand and I can really only rest it, she told me to move my fingers apart and I tried to but her voice just got louder and louder and when I didn't succeed she would shake her head and sigh and say under her breath "a mess". Seeing that made me feel embarrassed and shamed about myself which is not the vibe you should bring to your salon. read more

Three in our group got pedicures ( great grandma, grandma, and new mom) one of us paid and gave a tip to be evenly distributed between the three techs and left. The other two of us were finishing our pedicures and were told by tech #1 that our services had been paid, but the tip was on the other two of us. No problem we say, and proceed to pay another sum in tips for all three techs, later finding out that we had doubled the tip due to the tech's lack of integrity. So I have been here twice. The first time I got chrome my nails peeled off the next day from some idiot putting them in paraffin wax after. Which of your going to do it. Use your brain and do it before you paint someone's nails. Today this lady with a big mouth did my nails. Just a gel manicure. She started to trim my cuticles in a rush and every single cuticle bled. I said "ow your hurting me" and she continued. I got up and told the manager what happened and showed her my bleeding fingers and she's like "I'm so sorry can I do anything?" I should have called the police because I was feeling petty. But didn't and left. But if my fingers get infected you bet your sweet nips I'm gonna sue read more

Nice ladies but gel lifted after 5 days. Paid $114 for gel mani and pedi in preparation for my vacation. Nails didn't even last to the vacation, didn't do anything unusual or rough on them, can only assume bad prep/application. My gel usually lasts 2 weeks. Very disappointed. (Other comments: massage chair was broken, was served Sutter home wine, gave me flip flops. Very nice ladies and hospitable service. The only downside was the gel didn't last. read more

If I have a nail or nails chip they will fix them no charge and all of their staff are always so kind and friendly. I will say if you are in a hurry and walk in and see that they are busy then you may need to wait a bit but they get you seated and prepped right away. The fact that they are packed says a lot about the quality work they do. The atmosphere is relaxing and bright. They also keep everything very clean and sterilized. I've been here multiple times and never had any issues. I came to get a full set manicure on 3/8/25. Was happy with my nails and spent over $70 due to the shape and getting French tip. My first nail broke 6 days after getting them done. I was planning on letting them know and hopefully having them fix it free of charge, but a second nail has already broke 10 days after getting them done. I always have a great experience here, nails look fantastic and the people are very friendly. Every strange request I have made for designs and colors have been met. Lately I went in after a break and using at home glue on with some pretty rough looking nails, the tech helped rebuild the nails and formulate a plan to return to gel nails in a way that benefits my natural nails. Shellac manicures are hit or miss here! One time my mani barely lasted a week without the polish lifting/peeling. Most recently it lasted for almost 2 weeks without lifting. Shellac pedicure lasted for 2ish months! The vibe of the place is nice and modern and huge. About 3-4x the size of your average nail salon. It's built with a bar at the back but like others have said they've never actually offered drinks when I've been in, not that I actually wanted any - just seems like the bar is there for aesthetic versus actual use. I'll probably be back...only until I can find a local nail salon that has shellac manis that lasts 1 week minimum without peeling. read more

Came here to get my nails done before my cruise and we must have come just an hour before closing because they put two people to work with me and two work on my sister. The service wasn't very sophisticated, but they were all about getting things done, and that's not a bad thing. When you get a mani-pedi you get pampered with a lot of rubbing and massaging and that's what I'm all about. Love the massage chairs too that do their work as the manicurists do theirs. We even did the parrafin wax treatment so we had a lot of heat and it was luxurious. The only thing missing was we weren't offered any drinks to offer, but again I think it was because they wanted to get everything done before closing time. Went in for gel nails with tips for length and my nail tech said she could do it for me. She continued to not add length or gel on top and instead added gel polish only. I told her I didn't want that and she started saying that it'll look better without all of the other stuff that I asked for. Total came out to $50. We had an appointment but it didn't matter. The floors, in the lobby when we first walked in, were filthy. There was standing water on the floor, near the chairs. Asked about nail color, but were escorted to the pedicure chairs without choosing colors. The lady that escorted us had a very bad attitude, rude in fact. Left with feet soaking in less than lukewarm water for at least 25 minutes with no one checking on us. The ladies that actually did the pedicures were great. Went to front desk to pay, not even a thank you. It was the same lady as when we first arrived. I had a really good experience coming here for the first time. I first called to see if they had time for a walk in. They said they did so I got there and got seated right away. I had one lady start my full set initially but she had a scheduled appointment with her so I ended up with Phi to do everything else. Let me tell you, this is the nicest set I've had in a longggg time! The length, shape, and design is perfect! I will most definitely be returning. This salon is huge and absolutely gorgeous inside.
