I have long loved this salon for its calm, quiet, and impeccably clean atmosphere. It is my go-to spot for pampering because it avoids the noise of daytime TV or personal phone calls, featuring an informative and educational screen instead. You can watch or not but the vibe is nice. I recently tried a Gel-X manicure for the first time. Being unfamiliar with artificial nails, I initially chose the wrong shape. Once I saw the educational video on-site, I realized my mistake and asked to change the shape. Unfortunately, the technician's reaction was very unprofessional. She became visibly angry and "hot-headed," which completely ruined the relaxing experience I come here for. While I understand the late change was an inconvenience, the lack of temperament control was disappointing. I still love the facility, but I will be more cautious about who I book with in the future to ensure the environment stays peaceful. read more

I've gone here several times. My last visit I brought my niece as a surprise for her 7th birthday. The nail tech was extremely impatient with her. My niece was not misbehaving but she has ADHD and can't sit still so she had a hard time just sitting there while her nails dried and it apparently annoyed the tech. She did perfectly fine while they were being painted but sitting and waiting for me to finish was a little hard for her but even with that she was sitting there but just moving her hands. My recommendation is if you are planning on bringing a small child for a special day of manis and pedis, you might want to find a place where the tech has more patience. read more

I came in with my mom on a Sunday to get a pedicure. I've been to this spa once before and we had waited so I called ahead to see if it was busy. The person who answered the phone said that there was no wait and that we could come right in. We were there within 10 minutes. They had us sit down in one of the many empty chairs when we arrived. However, all of the employees were busy helping other clients. Another person walked in for a manicure or something and was taken right away. We continued to sit for over 30 minutes without being updated by the staff on our wait time. When we were finally helped, we picked from the large menu of services. I'm on a budget and wanted something simple so I got the least expensive pedicure service (number 9 out of 9 spa pedicure packages) with regular polish. The staff asked me if I wanted to add anything and if I was sure if I wanted the cheapest service and if I wanted to upgrade to gel and I politely declined. My mom got the number 6 which is the 6th most expensive service. The staff again questioned her choice, encouraging her to upgrade and she also politely declined. I would say it crossed the line of being a salesman and borderlined heckling. Since we were taken so late, we ended up being on a time crunch. A few minutes into the service, my mom decided to downgrade her service to the same one I had so we could get out quicker. The staff once again questioned her, but this time they asked her three separate times if she was sure she wanted to change to the number 9. It rubbed both of us the wrong way. Besides the service which we found to be rude, the pedicure itself was good quality. The massages felt short but that might have been either because we told them about our time crunch or because they felt offended that we got the lowest service. Not sure if it was worth the $37 plus tip for the experience we had but my toes do look nice. read more

Over the past 3-5 visits, I've experienced consistently long wait times. I am currently writing this review while still waiting to have my nail polish removed and receive my manicure. I have been here over two hours today... having to wait another 20-30mins in between services(I was finally done with my pedi after two hours and was told to sit and wait for the mani) is really inconvenient. There is an available technician going around doing other chores like cleaning the pedi tubs instead. While I understand that salons can get busy, the extended wait times and lack of timely service have been frustrating during each of my recent visits. read more

J Nails: where dreams go to die... slowly... over the course of 3 to 4 hours. And the price? Absolutely premium. You'd think for what they charge, they'd at least provide stellar customer service, but unfortunately that's not the case. The salon itself is clean and bright -- honestly a beautiful space to slowly lose your will to live while you wait. And wait. And wait some more. This isn't a one-time bad day situation. I've been multiple times (yes, I know -- a fool and their money). Every. Single. Time. The same experience: long waits, rude staff, and constantly being passed between multiple nail techs. Save yourself. Go somewhere that respects both your time AND your money. read more

This is my second review of J nails. My first experience was great and I have 5 stars. Since then I've been in twice with poor experiences. My best friend and I came in on a weekday and were told we would be able to have our nails done at 2. We arrived early, maybe 1:30/1:45 and sat around until 3 before we were brought to our seat. Nails started around 4. I wish the schedule would've been communicated with us. Next, the manicures just didn't hold up. We had the powder nails which we were told are stronger. Both of the manicures chipped off in under a week. My nails beneath are SO THIN. I know they had to rough them up, but I thought that was so the powder would stay on? My natural nails hurt to the touch and are breaking on everything. My friend is having the same experience. Neither of us get our nails done often so they were not thin to begin with. Sad to have to update my review, but the majority of my services now have been poor. The interior is beautiful. The service level doesn't match the fancy interior. read more

New to the area and this place is conveniently just down the road. First appointment needed a stat manicure for an interview. They were able to squeeze me in end of day and last minute. Jasmine recommended builder gel for me to try (I've been doing dip powder for the last two years) and so I did. Love how it turned out on my natural nails, looking forward to having a fill done in the near future. This most recent time I booked online which was very easy and got a P6 pedicure and gel polish. After a long week of staying home with the kids and trying to unpack the house, the relaxation and pampering was welcomed. Love the relaxed vibe, the salon is immaculate and while they were busy this morning it felt very organized. Will definitely be returning and looking forward to trying other services soon! read more

I have seen some of the negative reviews, but consistently used their services because it was one of the few nail salons near my house, and most of the time the service I received was satisfactory. However, I will not be returning. I walked in today with my young daughter and the owner/lead person rolled her eyes. I told them I would like pedicures for both myself and my daughter. The owner/lead person rolled her eyes again. The nail technician asked me how old my daughter was, and when I answered, she audibly huffed and rolled her eyes again! I'm not sure what her issue was, but she was clearly annoyed by my daughter and I being there. I told the technicians not to even worry about it and that we would find somewhere else to go. The owner/lead person simply waved her hand at me like she didn't care while we left. I will never go back. read more

I had a great experience here! I showed up on Sunday at 445, not knowing they closed at 5 - the owners did not turn me away and stayed late to accommodate. The nail salon itself is very clean and beautiful. They have a huge variety of colors and high quality gel polish. I was getting gel builder filled and polish put on, Christine did an amazing job and I'm very satisfied with this nail salon. I'd say their prices are comparable to every other nail salon I've been to in the area. read more

LOVE J NAILS! The salon is so clean and lavish, I was so excited once they opened because there aren't many nail salons in the area that are to this level. Brock and Jasmine provide the best customer I have received from a nail salon. Jasmine does excellent work on my gel manicures and Brock is always so kind and helpful when I come in. Overall the atmosphere and experience are top tier! I highly recommend them to everyone! read more

Booked online appointment for Chloe for my pedicure. I liked that we had to put down a deposit that goes towards our service. Making sure we all have a good experience. Excellent vibes and she did an excellent job with cuticles. I've been to few salons and usually feel so rushed. Very quiet and nice massager chairs. Serviced was about 1 hour and I felt so good. I would recommend a early morning appointment for tranquility. read more

I needed a mani/pedi for my brother's wedding. I typically don't get my nails done regularly just due to being too busy. So, this was my first time in J Nails and Spa, and it was like being in a movie! I couldn't believe how quiet and tranquil it was - truly like a spa! I had never experienced such fancy pedicure chairs, nor all of the colors and designs - and I mean they have ALL polishes - nor the concierge host at the front desk anywhere else. Impeccably clean, TVs with custom entertainment, an iPad to check in; they really have thought of everything. It is still a nail salon, but I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep twice. Beautiful lighting and rhinestone accents throughout. When my pedicurist was done painting my toes, he turned off the overhead lights and turned on the nicest massage chair I've sat in, complete with a warming feature. I went in for an acrylic full set but they do Gel-X. This is an adhesive that glues an entire nail to your whole nail bed, not just the tip as in traditional acrylic, and cures under UV. It can still be filled like an acrylic. This significantly reduces chemical smell/exposure unlike any other nail salon I've been to. And they don't grind down your cuticles like with acrylic reducing the risk of those crazy cuticle cuts. I think a woman who was somewhat in charge was doing my nails - she was BUSY. And super nice and funny. Very easy for American ears to understand. Book an appointment ahead of time, which I learned from her you can do online (how nice). Unlike other salons that will take walk-ins and appointments at the same time, I had booked an appointment and it was honored. My pedi nail tech was waiting for me like a masseuse at a spa. Groundbreaking things happening at J!! I'm not picky about my nails, but in this case I knew exactly what I wanted (see picture; it's exactly what I wanted). I usually don't speak up about what I really want but my nail tech went over and above to ensure she achieved it, checking in with me repeatedly to ensure I was happy with the progress. The boss lady did a more beautiful job than I could have imagined despite my not being able to find a representative picture online. The absolute ATTENTION TO DETAIL!! The absolute PRECISION! And I am very bad at sitting still. The absolute PERFECTION!!! One last thing I'll say: there was an encumbrance of women haggling over price. Several calling/emailing the concierge to get quotes for fancy crazy designs and one in person who crashed out while I was there - disturbing the peace - protesting the cost of her manicure. STOP IT NOW. J Nails offers significantly better service, atmosphere and quality than any other nail salon I've been to. They have literally thought of everything with the customer in mind! If you come for an entirely elective luxury service, who on earth do you think you are haggling over price?!?! Very trashy behavior from patrons despite very classy behavior from staff. They are very clear both online and in person (they have whole menu books) on price and it is not steep compared to other salons or considering the luxury experience I received. This woman literally shoved their framed statement about price transparency into their faces saying they needed to have prices posted on a wall. NEWS FLASH this is an expensive state to live in. Don't punish the sweet hard-working immigrants literally washing your feet. 100/10, best nail salon I've ever been to. I'll be bringing my husband back for a pedi regularly. Thank you all at J for a wonderful experience and the prettiest manicure of my life. read more

I have been here twice for a pedicure! Both times I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for a third time. The staff is very meticulous with the service, never been in pain due to a pedicure (no idea what the other review is referring to) - my guess is they had bad nails to begin with or just aren't the customer who should be receiving a pedicure. Staff is super friendly, great service, overall i plan on returning. :) read more

I hate to give this place 2 stars because they really do a good job with your nails. My nails look great and I am happy with them. However the experience was terrible. Very awkward. I first had a younger girl who was very kind and if I had her the whole time this review would be very different. However, the second lady I got for the paint was an older lady who was very unkind. Very unkind. There's absolutely no talking in there, I understand the calm vibe but it's uncomfortable to even cough. I would say thank you and she just says "hm", never once a thank you for coming in or just literally anything positive from her. I really thought this would be my me new nail spot but the lack of customer service and the amount of awkwardness I unfortunately will not be coming back. read more

Had manicure and pedicure done. Pedicure was great. Very thorough, took her time. However the manicure was a mess, my nails looked horrible. Nothing like the color selection I asked for. I ended up having to take the polish off that night because it was on so thick and smudging still hours later. read more

Today's experience has convinced me that even the best nail technician is not worth the disrespect. Today I did a walk-in. The young lady at the desk asked me if I had an appointment and I said no. She told me they were quite busy. I asked her how long she thought it might be. She came back and told me it would be 45 minutes and that I should make an appointment. Whenever I make an appointment, I am told that I should walk in. Both my appointments started 45 minutes late. When I come on Thursday, I am told I should come on Wednesday. So I came home and attempted to make an appointment for tomorrow afternoon online. When I went to complete the appointment, it said that I am blocked from making appointments. I assume this is because I talked about the frustrations I have experienced. I will still tell you that their work is flawless. The salon is scrupulously clean and everyone is kind and nice. But I would recommend that you don't go there if you're pressed for time. read more

I had an amazing time at J Nails & Spa. They were so accommodating and kind. They were able to squeeze me in at the end of the day and didn't not rush me at all. Ps: I am so sorry for the terrible picture but I promise it's even better in person. read more

I was really excited when this spa opened because it is close to were I live plus it is gorgeous!! However, it is beautiful from far.... but very far from beautiful!! I have been here about 6 times and each time has been terrible!! The nail techs seem angry if you take too long to decide on the color or the length of your nails..... they act like they are doing you a favor.... They then talk to each other in Vietnamese when they are clearly discussing you.... also, whenever I made an appointment online, where I had to pay $25 to hold the spot, but then when I got to the spa.... They were not available at that time and I have to wait or come back!! Why have that time slot open online if it is indeed not open.... I have a friend who also has had similar experiences on multiple occasions. We will be taking our money elsewhere for sure! read more

I wish I had read the reviews before bringing my mother here. This was one of the worst nail salon experiences I've ever had. From the start, the staff were extremely rude to my mother and treated her harshly. They were very rough during the service, causing her pain, and when I expected at least a simple apology, they became defensive and upset instead of showing any concern. No one should have to sit through that kind of treatment. On top of that, they completely forgot that I had booked a manicure along with out two pedicures. Even though I kept reminding them, they acted like it was an inconvenience that I expected to receive what I had scheduled. The whole process felt unprofessional, careless, and unnecessarily stressful. When I shared feedback, I was told that I needed to be more understanding. A nail salon should be a place where you feel relaxed and cared for. This was the complete opposite. I will never come back, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. read more

I like that you can make reservations and online. I had scheduled appts for 5 people (1 was a last minute add same day), they got 4 of us going right away. The space is new, I love how easily displayed your nail color options are and all the variety available. Those who got acrylic did take longer (been a long time since I've gotten acrylic so idk if that's normal). The two who got pedicures got some of the more premium packages and felt it was lacking, especially when it includes a massage. The person who did my gel manicure did a great job! She applied the right amount of coats to get the color I was hoping for. She was quiet which is 100% okay with me because I don't tend to like to talk either. The guy who checked us in and out was very friendly! I'd come back. read more

Called to make a ressie bc online I couldnt make it for 2 people. The person was super nice, I got 2 mid level pedicures. The spot itself is a surprise upon walking in. It's huge and has a super nice interior. Check in was clunky - it took a few min for someone to acknowledge me and then they asked me to check in (on an iPad). When I asked where the colors were to pick he was surprised i wanted a color. And then I had to walk through a few people (irritatedily) waiting to pick a color. Then we sat for 30 min. This was my friends first pedicure and she was like ...? Is it always like this? We finally get seated 30 min past the appointment time and no lie - waited another 30 min in the chair. We waited so long that the water literally got cold. At this point someone else came up and asked if we wanted a drink. I asked how much longer it would be as we'd now been there 50+ min. He asked and said another 20-30 - so we left. Pretty disappointing. Can't say I'll be back. I understand thinks happen but at no point did anyone check in with us, try and keep us comfortable, update us or try and salvage the situation. I'll stick with my usual spot in Lacey I guess. read more

First time trying out J Nail & Spa. Have to say, in their email confirmation of your service address says they are located on SE they are actually in NE. - I had a nail tech Jasmine do my nails seemed like she was rushing me to choose my color. Granted I was late due to the error in address on google maps and maps on apple. & front desk staff said it was not a problem that I was late. I had booked my service via online as a M4 Regular Manicure with Gel and Nail Design. Proceeding to arrive at the nail salon, I chose the color 429 for gel and wanted flower design on one nail each, which she had insisted to do two designs per hand which I agreed with. Yes language barrier was a factor but after she has done the design, I had asked if we were doing the color 429. and she mentioned that she asked if the color was okay on the other nails. - I said yes because there was nothing wrong with the color not thinking that was the color I was walking away with. She got a little upset when I mentioned the color 429 which then I just proceeded to say it's fine because I did not want to pay for a color change or pay additional for French tips which she recommended. As I was at check out, I asked the front desk what's the difference between M4 and M5 because originally I wanted the M4 service and he proceeds to say, yes there is a difference but you got the cheaper one. I was shocked in his response, which I don't care about the price difference between the two but more in fact the service it came with ... Overall, the nails are great. Just disappointed in the service I received and the color end result. Salon is very clean and new. Music was very relaxing, but unfortunately my nail tech did not make me feel relaxed or welcomed. My nail tech rushed my nails and service did feel rushed because as soon as I was up front to pay, she walked out the door. It's kind of upsetting of the service given but maybe will try another tech. read more

I was super excited to get my nails done for my bday as I don't always get them done. Came in asking for gel x and showed them my inspo pics. Not sure where the miscommunication was, but I clearly asked Jasmine what's the difference with gel x and gel x builder. She said something along the line that she'll add something on the tip to make it longer. I assumed she was gonna do that. Half way being done, I noticed my nails were still short. I asked her if she was gonna make it longer then she gave me an attitude with a sigh like it was my fault. I told her to keep it just the way it is since it showed that it clearly bothered her re-doing my nails. I have been exclusively going to this nail salon for over a year and was treated/spoke to very rudely this visit. I called ahead for a gel builder refill, when I arrived I entered my information and clicked gel manicure. The woman that checked me in scolded me and asked why I clicked that button when I already had gel on. I apologized and said I wanted a refill. She told me never to do that again because manicures and fills take different amounts of time. I apologized again and said I told the person on the phone I wanted a fill. She then scolded me again and said never do that again! I was very taken back by this reaction to a simple mistake. I wanted to leave right then because no one deserves to be treated that way, especially a loyal paying customer. I stayed and Chloe (a different employee) did my nails. I've been going to this salon since it opened. It's close to home so I definitely enjoyed the convenience. Sadly the quality is not there. It's all about appearance. The female head nail tech that I believe is a co owner, is very rude including with how she treats her own husband. He is more gracious to customers. Sadly he wasn't there when I came back for a fix of my gel x manicure. The week before, my sister and I, came into the salon. I was getting a fill and my sister getting a full set of gel x. They accepted us and right away we sat down to get started. They could only start with me and had my sister waiting for 30 mins before beginning to work on her. We didn't complain. We know it can get busy. The guy that started to work on my fill got as far as Getting the base gel on and then left to do another client. I sat there so long I actually fell asleep waiting for him to do the full set for some other lady. Did I say anything then... no. I tried to be understanding. When he finally came back, ZERO apologies. He just hurried through his low quality service. I had to go home, it was already 6:30 pm when he finished. However my nails did not look right. The polish itself was uneven and pooled near my cuticles. It was lumpy. He didn't even file my nail edges. He left clumped up gel under my nails. They were a mess. But I continued to be patient. I came back 2 days later, cause I didn't have time before, to ask if I could get them fixed. I was told that they were busy at the moment but if I could come back. I said sure and I left, got busy with life and couldn't come back that same day. I returned a few days later, this time as soon as they opened so that they can take their time and not be rushed. The woman owner said something to her guy at the front and he asked for me to come back at 2 pm. There was no one there!!! But I kept quiet and said nothing and left until 2. I go in and finally they sit me down to help me. She asked what was wrong with my nails and I told her. Of course she would then proceed to take it personal, even though I told her it was the other nail tech that had done the job. She continued to say that all of that was normal. And that to cut them shorter I would be charged $7 (which later turned into $10) She then continues by saying that the nail polish was too light and that was the reason it came out like that. Ok, so I said which do you recommend? Instead of recommending she said if I was going to change my polish she would charge $29. Well I wasn't going to pay another charge when on their own nail sample the polish looked even and nicely coated, and I liked my original choice. I felt they are the Techs and should know how to do the job right. So I said to her, no I'll keep my color, but I just don't want the pooling and unevenly coated gel. She continued to argue with me that that's just how the nail is going to look. I brought up to her that the gel I had done before, at another salon, did not leave my nails looking like this. My nails looked almost like my own, very nice and natural. She then said that if I liked the other place better to next time go back to it... wow, really?? The vibe is TERRIBLE read more

Sadly, after making an appointment and them telling me it would be about an hour for a soak off and full set, I spent an hour and 20 minutes. This was my end result... half removed acrylic, $25 less in my pocket, and needing to do a home manicure on my natural nails. I had 2 hours to spend with them and they couldn't get me even close to a reasonable result. Realistic time expectations and transparent pricing could go a long way here. The salon is beautiful, clean and the employees very friendly. Here is my reason for the low rating. I got a lavish pedicure. $64 and when booked online it stated 64 minutes. My pedicure was done in 40 minutes. I felt cheated. Every step was rushed and I feel like this happened because of 3 walk ins. I feel places where callous was missed. I was with a friend and I didn't want to make her feel bad so I kept quiet. I have gotten much longer and better pedicures for MUCH less cost. I won't be back. read more

The positives: this is a really nice salon and everyone seems very nice. Easy online reservations. The con: the services just aren't great for what you pay for. My husband booked me a pedicure for Mother's Day and it was almost $80. Sounded luxurious. It really wasn't anything special that I haven't gotten anywhere else with a regular pedicure. Lotion was rubbed on and wiped off. Hot stones lasted maybe 30 seconds each leg. Foot massage maybe 2 minutes? It was so short. My nails turned out nice, but unless you just want your toes painted, don't splurge on anything above a basic pedi. read more

I came here a few times even though my daughter said she didn't like this place (its location is convenient! ) Now I see why she does not! Rude and unprofessional. When I did bring my daughter, easy $300+ spent ($30 for "designs" on nails... really?!?)! I have the receipts if you think I'm exaggerating! For my birthday, I received a 20% off coupon for services- was told "that was a mistake, should only be 10% off" I don't know, maybe they realized how much money I would spend monthly at this place and wanted to do something nice?!? Was the coupon ever honored, NOOOO! Then the owner- yells at my daughter for texting me (while I was there) about how rude the person was being because she didn't want to yell it with other customers around... the owner told my daughter to get off her phone (mind you, the nail tech was working on her OTHER hand, didn't even need that hand!), so my daughter told her: there's no need for attitude... They are just always rude to my kid- you would think spending $300/each time we go there (AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH) would have earned better attitude... they don't care! They don't care that YOU are paying a GENEROUS amount of money for services! I don't even want to give them ONE star because that's being generous! Don't go here- it may look beautiful inside the salon, but TRUST ME, they have ugly attitudes! read more

I wanted to try this place out because it looked really fancy on the outside, so I booked an appointment for pedicures and manicures for my mom, my cousin who was visiting from out of the country, and myself. Mind you, we are Hispanic and my cousin was visiting us for the first time and she doesn't speak any English so I was translating for her. Well right away when we got seated for our pedicures, I noticed the older lady that worked there kept staring at us and saying something to the other workers while laughing. Okay. I tried to ignore it because I wanted my family to have a good time. After our pedicures we moved to the manicure area and the same lady who had been talking about us and laughing started working on my nails. She was extremely rude and impatient whenever she had to ask me questions about what I wanted done, even making little comments here and there trying to make me feel stupid. As she was working on my hands she kept tugging and twisting my hands around and doing everything so aggressively she actually nicked me and made me bleed. At this point, I was pissed for obvious reasons and stopped being nice to her, which she then starts talking about me to the lady getting her nails done next to me and trying to make herself the victim and started talking about how it's "so hard for her to do this job because of her arthritis". I was so upset and disappointed by how unprofessional and honestly nasty the workers are, I wanted to leave the entire time I was there. On top of all of this, my nails were so badly done! I went back to get it fixed in which they said they could take me right away if I came in. After waiting for 45 min for a nail tech to do my nail while there were two techs available..the nail tech who had fixed my nail within 1 min while waiting for 45 min. read more

We walked in without an appointment and only waited about 15 minutes for ours to start. Which was the perfect amount of time for a short walk to Starbucks. I got the regular pedicure and my daughter received the mani-pedi combo for children 7-12. Hers was only $40 and was a great deal. Very classic interior and clean as well. read more
