In the picture with the 4 boba drinks, from left to right, Ukinawa Fresh Milk with Boba, Ukinawa Roasted Milk Tea with Boba, Ukinawa Fresh Milk with Boba, and Mango Green Tea with Mango Boba. I got the Ukinawa Fresh Milk with Boba and it tasted similar to brown sugar boba. One thing I will say, is that all the drinks we got have a weird after taste. At first, I didn't mind it because my drink was very tasty, but after drinking for a while, I got kind of annoyed of the taste and ultimately, didn't finish the drink as I felt as though I was tasting just the unpleasant flavor. The actual boba pearls were very good. Perfect amount of squishy-ness and flavor. We also got a chocolate bubble waffle and a matcha bubble waffle and honestly, I'd give them a 2/5. They were okay, the matcha flavor wasn't as prominent as I was hoping it would be and the chocolate one did have more flavor, but it wasn't my favorite. To accompany the waffles, we got the Puff Cream and although the waffles need a dipping sauce (in my opinion) or just something else, you could do without this one. It just tasted like butter. Regardless, I will 100% return as I'd love to try more of their drinks. The service here was very good!! Staff were friendly and answered my questions about the different drinks and their names. We arrived around 8 pm and there was only a hand full of people sitting. There's a good amount of tables and chairs and they were pretty cute. It was the grand opening of a new boba place on East Broadway across from Nadine's Bakery. It was a cute area with pops of yellow. The service was friendly even though it was busy. We ordered the Okinawa Roasted Milk Tea with boba and Freshly Squeezed Lemon Black Tea with boba with an order of bubble waffle and puff cream. First time trying this new tea shop next to Opa's at Broadway/Swan. I tried the ube milk tea with taro puff cream and boba. The drink didn't blow me away but it was pretty good. Even with 100% sweetness it wasn't too sweet which is great. The boba were also perfectly cooked, but the overall drink was lacking in flavor. Ube to me tends to be a bit bland so maybe it's just not the flavor for me. I will definitely return though to try their salted cheese drinks and bubble waffles. There are a lot of tea places in town now all of a sudden, but Happy Lemon still manages to stand out. I had the strawberry green tea my first visit and it was quite good, but I was curious about their specialty drink topper-- salted cheese. I gave it a shot today and wow! I had a strawberry green tea again with salted cheese and it was phenomenal. The salted cheese was a lot like a soft top but less sweet. The flavor kind of reminded me of heavy cream, but it mixed nicely with the sweetness of the strawberries. I highly recommend giving the salted cheese option a shot. I also have enjoyed the bubble waffles. Light and airy, but not too sweet. This is also a beautiful spot- bright and open with cute decorations. The staff is friendly and has the menu down really well, given they've only been open a week. read more

My favorite items were the bubble waffle with dip and the black tea with salted cheese. The waffle was crispy on the outside with a soft chewy texture inside. I really like matcha flavor but this was a mellow taste so I think even people who don't like matcha, will like this. The taro dip was also good, not overly sweet. The salted cheese topping on my black tea was a new one for me and I'm now obsessed with it. The creamy top is lightly sweet with a contrasting salty flavor, it elevated the drink. I have enjoyed all of my experiences at Happy Lemon. The staff a friendly and the drinks come out quickly. I got a classic milk tea with boba-- a hard order to mess up, but it was made well. This is a fun place to hangout and work. The only thing is, if you want to hangout to work for a while, you might want to download your work beforehand or plan to do offline work because the Wi-Fi was on the slower side. My boba standards are pretty high since I used to live in LA but this happy lemon location surprised me! The okinawa milk tea was the perfect amount of sweetness at 50% sugar level. I saw the brown sugar coating the sides of the cup when I first picked up my drink and was worried, but it actually has a strong tea flavor similar to an oolong, and did not taste overly sweet at all. I also tried the jasmine milk tea with 25% sugar. It was also good but I liked the okinawa more. Boba pearls are chewy. Price point is high ($6.50 per drink) and there's lots of seating inside a spacious interior. read more

Decided to try something new today and I'm glad we decided to try here. Very friendly staff and the store was super clean. Now I was a bit confused as to what salted cheese topping was for their tea was, but when I asked, the gentleman at the register was very nice enough to explain what it was. Think of it as like a creamy foam/melted cream cheese that's a bit salty. (Not a fistful of bag cheese as I was thinking) I didn't get it in my drink, but I did get a cup of it for the chocolate bubble waffle my husband and I shared. And it was really good! I recommend getting the chocolate bubble waffle with a side of salted cheese sauce to dip the bubbles in. It's amazing. For drinks I got the Ube milk tea with taro puff cream and boba, while my husband got mango Green tea with mango boba. Both were delicious! Great hidden spot in the broadway plaza across the street from the comic book shop of heroes and villains. Excellent boba in Tucson! Coming from someone who grew up in the San Gabriel Valley in California, I've had my fair share of excellent boba so trust me when I say Happy Lemon is legit! I had the Freshly Squeezed Honey Lemon Green Tea with boba and the Fresh Passion Fruit Mango Green Tea with lychee jelly. I highly recommend both. They don't have much food options other than the bubble waffles, BUT THOSE TAKE THE WIN. They are so soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
