Drinks here run sweet! I ordered my 50% sweetness but it still tasted like 100% so I'll have to adjust next time. I got the freshly squeezed lemon Jasmine green tea which had several slices of squeezed lemon inside. Tasty and a good balance of tartness, but I'll get 30% sweetness next time. I also added lychee jelly. The bubble waffles here are good as well. Freshly made and great subtle flavor. Despite the long lines, service was friendly and quite fast. There is some seating but the store gets crowded so I'm not sure you'd want to stay inside.

Had a line but it moves fast and they make everything fast as well. Got our regular but they discontinued the yakult drink. Also got 2 bubble waffles which were made fast too. Happy lemon never disappoints. Make sure to sign up for rewards, we had 2 free drinks this visit! Not much for seating inside. But we got it to go anyways.

Well... I finally got to try this location after listening to some interesting hearsay reviews, and after having it I'm questioning my life's choices. This is inside Bellevue Square Mall not too far from the newly opened Moto Pizza, and there was still a ton of people waiting for drinks about 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday evening. No comment on service since you only order at the counter. Inside is very noisy and very cramped. I went here to get their smoky pine Oreo smoothie as part of their 18th anniversary and I wasn't sure what flavor I was getting when I tasted it. The consistency matches that of a smoothie but I could have caught a hint of what tasted like cardboard in my drink. Not like cardboard pieces but tastes of it. Drink was still all right at best. There's definitely better surrounding areas for milk tea in the Bellevue area than here.

Service was ok, but not worth the hype and price. I paid $22 for two drinks for online pick-up and they both taste straight up like milk. Do not waste your money, I requested boba/tapioca for my drink which was an additional cost and if you look at the pictures there was barely any. LOL The mango matcha drink at the back was also not blended for long enough and tasted disgusting like vomit.

Stopped by Happen Lemon inside Bellevue Square Mall on a packed Saturday afternoon. The place was buzzing with people, which made it tough to stay in line with two little kids in tow. I was a bit disappointed to see their food safety rating wasn't as high as I expected for such a busy location. We were really hoping to try the bubble waffle, but were told it'd be another 15-20 minute wait, which just wasn't realistic with kids. The drinks were decent, but the overall experience felt a bit chaotic. Probably better to visit during a quieter time if you want the full menu and a smoother experience. JY review

Located on the first floor of the Bellevue Square. It is a very busy place with nice decor, but a small store. Barely had room to wait for my order. I got the brown sugar fresh milk with boba. It was too sweet in my opinion and regretted not getting a smoothie instead.

Great customer service and awesome selection of drinks. They made sure we got the most out of our visit. Will be returning!

Delightful corner shop within the mall. Look for it down the hall from the Lego shop. At 4:30 on Monday there was no line. Ordering was simple; the menu is posted and easy to follow. I appreciated getting to choose from four levels of sugar and the volume of ice. While I did not order a waffle, they smelled amazing; they come in four flavors and appear crispier than what I make at home. When ready, waffles are placed in a shaped and printed paper envelope to be handed to customers, SO CUTE!! I ordered mango jasmine green tea w boba and it is delicious. There's also little bits of mango in it, fun!!

First timers here visiting from vegas. We really like what we ordered. We ordered the milk tea with salted cheese foam, the brown sugar milk tea boba and the chocolate bubble waffle and all of it was good... there was a small line but it went by pretty fast...

Wow, the bubble waffles are so yummy! I happen to stop by in the morning so it wasn't busy but that didn't last long. After doing some shopping on my way out was going to grab one for the road and the line wrapped outside along the side of the store. It is worth the wait :p They offer bubble waffles with various dip sauces. The cookies and cream are very good but can eat plain as well. They serve tea and smoothies. The size of the waffle is HUGE. It was about the size of my face. If you are in the area would recommend giving it a try.

The Bellevue mall is a trendy and hopping place with tons of great restaurant options. If you're in the mood for a Bubble Tea, however, Happy Lemon might be the only option but luckily it's a good one! Here's my take on the experience: Quality of food: Good. I tried their Classic Milk Tea (A1) along with the Original Bubble Waffle (H1). The milk tea was great and refreshing. I chose the "normal" sugar option which was a little too sweet for me. The Bubble Waffle was perfectly crispy, hot, and fun. Decor: okay. Even though their are chairs inside, I felt that the place is more or less designed for a quick grab and go. I don't remember much besides their being a curtain separating the front desk and the kitchen. Cleanliness: good. The tables looked clean. They do not have bathrooms. Service: good/chaotic. The cashier explained well the teas that go into the different bubble teas. The order pickup experience is a little hectic. I saw someone grab another person's order and just walk away. They were not checking if the number on the receipt matched the number on the cup. Also, chatty customers were holding off the employee from delivering the teas which created a backup. Price: a little bit high!. The teas were $5-$8 and the bubble waffle was $5.25. If you're in the mood for a quick snack of bubble tea and bubble waffle then Happy Lemon is a good option inside the mall.

This was my first time at Emerald City Smoothie in ten years and my first time at the Downtown Bellevue location. The interior is fairly small with only a few tables to sit/stand at and so it's mostly a takeout place rather than a place to meet with friends. Emerald City Smoothie has a wide menu and categorize their menu into five categories based on health goals: "Boost My Immune System", "Help Me Lose Weight", "Go Green", "Bulk Me Up" and "Nourish My Body". They also have a menu just for "Boosters" which cost extra and include everything from antioxidants to bees pollen to creatine and fat burner. Lastly, they have a Secret Menu which includes Banana Creme Pie, Matcha Green Tea, Maui Paradise, Mountain Berry Blast, Orange Creamsicle, Piña Colada, and Peanut Butter Cup. I'm pretty sure their secret menu is just drinks that don't fit into the other categories (or ran out of room for), because they had these same drinks on their menu ten years ago. I ordered the MATCHA GREEN TEA (16-oz) off the secret menu. This smoothie has soy milk, matcha, non-fat milk, and whey. For $7.44 (including tax), this was pretty pricey for a "healthified" matcha Frappucinno. They obviously don't use high quality matcha as the matcha color was on the yellow side and the taste was quite diluted and bland. It mostly just tasted like sugary blended milk with little to no matcha flavor; I was honestly disappointed, but drank it anyway. My friend got her favorite NUTTY BANANA (sub vegan protein) which has banana, peanut butter, protein, and nonfat milk, which is probably what I should've gotten instead. She also ordered a PB&J and MANGO MANIA for her family members which are also supposed to be decent. Lesson learned, stick with the fruit smoothies. Service was good- the baristas are friendly and efficient and we got our drinks within 10 minutes after ordering. Overall: 2/5 for drinks, 4/5 for service, 3/5 for atmosphere

There are 3 cafes I go to on the regular for my hojicha fix: Magic Matcha, Tendon Kohaku, and Bobae in Kirkland. While I enjoy all three, Magic Matcha is my favorite. The roasted tea flavor is strong, they allow me to adjust the sweetness level, and the flavor of the drink is always consistent. I've had issues with Tendon and Bobae either changing up the brand or the roast or adding too much milk on any given day. One of my gfs loves their horchata hojicha so there's that. I tasted it and it was objectively good. I wouldn't get it only because I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon, but if I were, it would be another go-to drink.

Realistically, my review is a high 3 stars, like a 3.7-3.9, and is mostly weighed down by the fact…read morethat the matcha latte was meh. Not awful, not I'll-never-drink-again-bad, but meh. I've been here twice, once a few years ago with my cousins, and another three days ago. The people working were attentive and quick with their service. The ambiance of the place is cute, a lot of pink and green, very instagram-worthy, and I saw a few people with friends or working on their laptop so it seems like a great place vibe-wise. To expand on my matcha critique, I found the color to be a little on the green-yellow side, which isn't the end all- be all quality indicator for matcha, but I find matcha lattes that are more rich in color tend to taste better and this tasted like a matcha drink I could make with costco matcha. I've made some decent lattes with costco matcha but once I switched to the more higher quality ones, well, it sorta refined my tastes. There isn't a lot of parking, and to be fair, a lot of people who are in downtown Bellevue are parked elsewhere else and likely just meander their way to the cafe. However, if you're coming in by car, I'd suggest parking by the apartments nearby, DO NOT park at the Chase Bank lot, even if the bank itself is closed (learned my lesson...). Overall, a 3.7-3.9. Could be better. Maybe with other additives like cold foam or strawberries, the drink is better, but I'm judging based off the basic latte.

It's bubble tea and waffles. You can't really expect a Michelin star meal here…read more That said, when there is a line it goes pretty quick when it's mostly regulars, and only gets bottlenecked by people who have never bubbled their tea or bubbled their waffles before and don't know how to order. Or who haven't used a touchpad POS I guess - which is surprising but it happens. ...hell I work in tech and only this month used my phone to pay for a thing at a POS but I digress. Never was a priority. I've ordered there consistently. I usually get the same thing. I'm more of a no boba milk tea person. Service is consistent. Prices are decent. I guess the low reviews are people who are expecting Din Tai Fung levels from a small place in the mall? Then again I don't boba I only milk tea so what do I know. People are super picky about their balls and how they want their balls to taste. I say set your expectations on your balls and stop being a ball buster. Good grief people have gotten so artisinal about their boba balls it's like they expect each one to be flow in individually by a drone or hand selected and blessed by the Pope. Or do like I do and go for the milk tea and not worry about it. Can't go wrong with milk tea. Or maybe the low reviews are people who are over complicating their orders and expect Frank Lloyd Wright and Gordon Ramsey both to be back there assembling their bevy for $7. For what it is, and for the price, I have no complaints.

I thought I'd give this chain a try and I was very disappointed. Parking: mall garage, free. Atmosphere: no seating, long lines for ordering, waiting for your order to be completed is longer than waiting in the line (I presume it is because they fill mobile orders at the same time). Menu: posted on the back wall above the register, also a smaller menu at the beginning of the ribbon divider. Service: order and pay at the front, wait for your order to be announced, grab your own straw. Mango Sago Smoothie: I requested 30% sweetness and it was still very sweet but that wasn't the worst part--it wasn't until I reach the bottom of the cup that I saw the sago was nothing but two large coagulated clumps. It was clearly poorly made and not fresh. The mango tasted mediocre and was nothing to write home about. The boba was also very unevenly cooked and was mushy on the outside and rubbery/hard inside. I noticed this on the first sip and wasn't going to stand back in the 10 minute queue to get it remade. I'm all for bubble tea joints and I honestly thought the drinks would be better quality for a chain so large that I hear about.

The menu is quite small with three cold sandwiches and three hot ones, each inspired by a different region of the globe with the South Pacific, South America and Mediterranean as a few examples. There were two salads listed as well. I've been here twice and both times, when I went to place my order on the iPad, the menu stated they were out of stock for the sandwich that I wanted. However, when I asked the employee, she said that was not correct. So if you see the same message when ordering, it's worth asking about it! During my first visit, I ordered the RENDANG ($14). This hot sandwich came packed with SO much meat! Very tender chunks of marinated beef tasted of coconut, curry and warm spices. The flavor had true depth and I could actually taste hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Thin spears of pickled cucumber and carrot added crunch and a perfect zing of acidity. They were refreshing and cut through the rich beef. A drizzle of Sambal Terasi (chili) aioli gave it another layer of flavor. Cilantro, mint and Thai basil were all fresh and vibrant. The bread was lightly toasted, being a little crinkly in texture without being harsh against my gums. If I could change something, I would include a couple extra slices of the cucumber to balance out the ratio of vegetables to meat, and add a bit more of the aioli. Other than that, this is a great sandwich influenced by flavors of the South Pacific. My companion got the STEAK sandwich ($15) and enjoyed it. The steak slices were thinly cut and tender as well. They do their beef right! On another occasion, I tried the PROSCIUTTO ($14), one of their cold sandwiches. The delicate layers of prosciutto were placed on top of sliced tomatoes, pickled onion and arugula, all between pressed focaccia bread. Truffle mustard was spread on both pieces of bread, which was WAY too much in my opinion. With this mustard having a stronger flavor, it overpowered the sandwich and made it too tangy, especially in combination with the pickled onions. The menu stated this should include pistachios, but I didn't notice any, and they were all out of provolone, so there was also an absence of cheese. For the prices, these sandwiches are pretty generous in size, so I consider them a good deal, especially for the Bellevue area. The ingredients are fresh and make for a fantastic lunch option. While I wasn't a huge fan of the Prosciutto sandwich, I'd definitely go back again for another Rendang!
