I am one Happy Lemon. Upon my last review, the business owner reached out to me to remedied the oversight on my last order. It was a kind gesture that is not very common these days. I finally had the opportunity to try out the Matcha Avocado, and I have to admit that it's pretty good. There's a good amount of matcha that doesn't overpower the avocado smoothie. It also has a perfect amount of sweetness, where it's not bland or too sweet. I would totally recommend this place, and would likely be back to try out the bubble waffles. read more

I knew this place was popular in Canada so when I saw that it was coming to Bellevue Square, I was excited. Bellevue is starting to pop up with more bubble tea places and I would say this is one of the better ones. Since this is brand new, the hype is definitely still alive. They have a little roped off place to direct the direction of the line but if you get lucky, the line may not be so long. The menu is up on the wall behind the cash register and counter which you can easily read all of the choices. It is in a nice font and pretty design. The recommendations are easy to find and separated from the rest of the menu. Some of the pricing is unclear when it comes to those drinks but you can get an overall estimation by looking at the other drinks on the wall. I asked my friend for what he recommended and ended up ordering the Milk tea with boba & puff cream. It is sweet but just the right amount of sweetness for my liking without making any adjustments. My friend ordered the Mango Matcha which was definitely sweeter than my drink. The flavor was good and you could definitely tell it was mango. It had a thick consistency like a smoothie. My boyfriend ordered the Mango Jasmine Green Tea with boba and that was not on the sweeter side like the other drinks we had tried for the day. I am definitely interested in going back to try more. The only thing is the wait for the drinks took awhile. The cashier is super fast but the wait for the actual drinks took about 20 minutes. Also keep in mind that the store is pretty small. Even though there is a counter area and seats with tables, the lines are long and there are lots of people waiting so it gets crowded and claustrophobic. I came here on a Monday evening after going to Safeway and ordered two boba milk teas with less ice and one has 50% sugar and the other was 100% sweetness and my boyfriend thought I gave him the 100% sweetness one because it was so sweet. I can handle 100% or 80% at other tea shops, but here I really wish I went with 50% because wow it is just so so sweet. I don't know if they messed up or something but I don't think either of us can finish our drinks because they are giving us headaches. Prices are about the same as all the other boba stores, but the employees weren't friendly. Not mean or anything but sorta unwelcoming. I probably won't come back because there are just so many tea places that 1. I get better service from 2. Aren't going to give me a sugar induced headache and 3. I love Happy Lemon. I find that drinks and the egg waffles from Happy Lemon are pretty consistent compared to other boba places. This location is particularly busy since it's inside the Bellevue Square shopping center. This location is also pretty small compared to the one in Tukwila and University Village. Not a place you would want to hang out in with friends, unless it was oddball hours of the day where it may be less busier. read more

Such solid boba! I haven't had a bad drink here. They are a little pricey, but definitely satisfy the craving if you want something sweet. The workers also work very promptly -- while you may need to wait a bit in line, your drink will almost always come out fast. Green Tea with Rock salt crema is fantastic and the wifey loves their taro balls with the milk tea. Compared to other bubble tea places in mall it's definitely the best. Their bubble waffle is also delicious with the right amount of crisp on the outside and chewy inside. Happy Lemon is a great little spot in Bellevue Square. We were in line for about 5ish min, but it run along the window where you can see the waffles being made. About 8 customers at a time inside, then folks can wait outside the doors for their name to be called. The three batters for the waffle are original, chocolate, and matcha. Highly recommend trying the half & half bubble waffle! Half original and chocolate felt like the choice for our first time, along with a side of puff cream and puff/Oreo creme. The puff creme wasn't as vanilla-like as expected, and was more like a sweet whipped butter. We liked the Oreo creme better. There was some spots of the waffle that were a bit doughy still, but we didn't really mind. Ohers in my group got drinks as well (I was just in the mood for the waffle). They got the B4 strawberry jasmine GT w rock salt crema and A2 jasmine green milk tea. Friend who ordered the B4 would suggest to get 50% sweetest, as the crema is quite sweet. As a avid bubble tea lover I had to stop by this place when I heard about its opening. It's a cute yellow store front with plants hanging on the wall and a helpful picture menu. With it being so new, the line wrapped around the store corner outside and I had to wait about 40 mins to place an order and have the drink in my hand. So be prepared for a long wait, especially on weekends because I don't think the hype will be dying down anytime soon. I wanted to try their strawberry seasonal drink but they were sold out that day. So I got the milk tea with pudding and lycee jelly while my friend got the avocado matcha. We both didn't like our drinks. My milk tea tasted watery and plain, which is surprising considering how it's their first recommended list on their menu. The avocado matcha was like a avocado smoothie with hints of matcha but it didn't mesh well together for us. I'll give this place another chance before completely writing it off. Our littlest gentlesir is originally from China and lived in an area where bubble waffles were a mainstay. As a result everybody likes to indulge whenever the opportunity presents itself! As the opportunity presented itself earlier this week, we decided it was time to check the place out. The array of bubble tea options was quite impressive and they had plenty of different takes on the classic. We ended up with a normal milk tea with tapioca pearls and something that had granulated sugar along with a slightly cheesy flavored upper layer. Both were very good! The bubble waffles are obviously what people are coming for and luckily they have both standard and chocolate options! We sampled both and both are worth trying out. A myriad of toppings are at your disposal and something sweet and carby always goes with warm and carby! Things are about what you'd expect price wise - $4-7 per item so after a quick trip to the LEGO store across the way and something here, you'll spend approximately $200! The bubble waffle should absolutely work it's way into your dessert/snack/second breakfast rotation, and since it takes something like 60 days to establish a habit, you should start going here soon! read more

Get ready for the long line, and the wait time is about the same length of time. We ordered the mango matcha with boba. Nice flavor, but we found that we can order it with 1/2 or 1/3 sugar. One of my favorite bubble tea spots! I've tried a few different drinks here and enjoyed them all. My go-to is the mango jasmine with green tea & boba (light on the sugar) and one of my coworkers loves the fresh peppermint lemon mojito. The main reason we choose Happy Lemon and walk a bit further, though, is the bubble waffle. I love the chocolate one and at least one co-worker always chooses the original. They limit you to two bubble waffles per order so sometimes we both have to order because 3-4 co-workers ask us to pick one up for them. read more

About average, this is definitely a bustling place I waited about 15mins order and another 15 to get my milk tea with rock salt which I wish they had charged properly when I asked for a cheese cream instead of charging me more for each component it would have been $4.75 for a med rock salt drink vs oolong + rock salt at 5.25 (4.50+.75) I didnt try the bubble waffle but lots of ppl ordered it and they were pumping them out nonstop the whole time I was here... In short: the BEST crema I've had to date! I stopped by on a weekend morning, soon after they opened. There was basically no line although some orders were already ahead of me! I went for the Jasmine green tea with their rock salt crema and boba. Service was okay, my cashier was very nice and helpful, although I did end up waiting ~20 minutes to get my drink from the moment I placed my order. I think the service is a bit slow, but I'll cut them some slack since they are relatively new, I don't know where they are in terms of training/staffing, and they had just opened for the day. The rock salt crema was SO good... absolutely the best part of my drink! It was so rich and thick and the flavor profile was perfect. Slightly salty, slightly cheesy. Hopefully this doesn't sound gross to people who haven't heard of cheese foam. I thought it tasted like sipping on cheesecake in cream form (not sure if that makes it sound any better... haha). If in doubt, try it out! My tea was really good as well, and the boba was just okay. Long line but pretty fast service on a Wednesday night. Had boba tea from Happy Lemon in Beijing and didn't like it, wanted to give this one a try- still didn't like it... The milk tea tasted very powdery/thick, it might be my personal preference. I do like the idea of taro boba, but it tasted watered down/ not so much taro flavor. Mango matcha was very very sweet. The line was short but the store full of people sitting were all waiting for their teas and bubble waffle. Whoops! Knew I should've tried it in LA! I also had a friend who worked here a while back and her experience was absolutely horrendous. That was clearly reflected in the employees I saw today. They all looked miserable. It was really refreshing after an hour of walking around the mall. ...But it didn't satisfy my craving for bubble tea. It was more like a Keurig than a Nespresso, if you know what I'm saying. It didn't quite have the depth of flavors. Maybe I'm spoiled from bubble tea in Arcadia and Taipei (shoutouts to my friend Po). Maybe I should've asked for less sugar. Their milk teas are pretty decent but I like to go here for these specific drinks. Their tea isn't too weak or overpowering and not too overly sweet (I usually go for 50% or less sugar). Their bubble waffles are also a nice treat, I like to pair it with their Oreo puff cream. Customer service is always 10/10. I love how the cashiers are patient and friendly even when they are super busy. My last visit, I was served by Inyoung and she made my whole day. Nothing uniquely stood out to me versus any other iced teas that I've tried, except it was maybe not as sweet - which was a good thing. It didn't taste as artificially sweetened. The waffles are alright. The texture was okay, got soft quickly - I like a waffle that stays crispy. This didn't. It wasn't soggy, it just didn't have the crisp texture. The filling was alright. The mochi reminded me of red bean, not too sweet. Personally, if I'm going to have a waffle, I want real fruit flavor and a level of sweetness that just wasn't there with this. This happy lemon location doesn't seem to put in the effort of other happy lemon spots when it comes to the salted cheese drinks. Generally, there would be a way to sip it from the cup and some directions on doing so in order to make it a good experience. Using a straw definitely doesn't work as you would only be getting the tea. However, trying to drink it straight from the cup it was just a mouthful of salted cheese which was very unpleasant. I only learned of how to drink it properly because my friend explained it to me. But even then, I had to drink it from the cup with no lid which seemed whack. My friend also showed me photos of happy lemon from other locations and their salted cheese drinks looked so much better with cute foam art and nice lids. I did look around and did not see many people getting it so it's possible they knew this was not a good option here. Either the store needs to step up and make these drinks proper or not serve them at all. read more
