Soicy soup base and premium package with buffet, drinks and meats included

I love to visit this restaurant when I am craving hot pot! I catch the lunch special which is $24.99/pp at specific hours and includes unlimited meats, drinks, and access to "buffet" which has a bunch of additions like noodles, veggies, and sauces for your broth. If someone isn't feeling soup, the buffet does have fried veggie spring rolls and shrimp fried rice. There are also more broths available in this area. Service is quick and staff is always around for questions or help. The restaurant is very clean and everything always tastes fresh. Give it a try!

I have been coming here for over a decade. They are also consistent. Service here is always efficient. There has been some recent changes with the buffet style self serve hotpot. Now there is buffet style for you to pick out your own veg, tofu, and shrimps. Self serve drinks dessert etc. They still take your order for meat and bring it to the table. We did the VIP hot pot which was 10 dollars extra and to be honest not worth the extra nothing to complain about but there isn't much extra you get, the regular menu has everything needed. My fave broth is mushroom and tomato, you can split your hot pot for different flavors. The lamb served here is always the best lamb ever. There are so many veg choices. Great family spot and group dining !

My party of 4 visited on a Friday around 6:30pm and was seated promptly. The restaurant filled out throughout the evening. We opted for the regular ayce option for $31.99 per person. There was a number of meats to order from the waiter and you could get vegetables, mushroom, fishballs, noodles and other items yourself from the buffet area. There is also sauce bar and some cooked food to choose some. Soft drinks are also included in the ayce price. The meats came out relatively quick and wait staff were friendly. Overall, a good spot for hot pot if you want variety, and quality was on par of other ayce hot pot spots.

This place was awesome! Fresh veggies, great choice of noodles, and the sauce bar was exceptional. Highly recommend getting the spicy sour broth.

Classic menu with best of both world soup. Lamb, beef short plate, kurobuta pork.

Came in on a Friday night, yelp waitlist had no wait at 6:30 but when we arrived by 7:15 there were 6 parties ahead of us and a full restaurant so we waited probably 15 minutes for a table which was not bad. BYOB which was great. No cotton candy machine but they had a variety of seafood options, mushrooms, pickled pig ears/wood ear mushrooms, organ meats, vegetables all were fresh and were readily restocked. They also had some dessert soups off to the side including sago and red bean. Despite the restaurant being full our waiter was easy to get a hold of if needed but we didn't really need it since the portion sizes of the meat brought out was perfect. It wasn't too loud, it was clean, and the meats were fresh. Great deal and a great experience.

I think this place is slightly overhyped. Couple of things: - Service: while I get that it's supposed to be self service, we felt a bit neglected. Seating was slow, nobody asked how we were doing, soup was evaporating with no refills - Broth: incredibly important part of hot pot in general but there broth wasn't especially flavorful. The spicy wasn't even spicy and it was very mid. No umami at all - Selection of meats / veggies were fine? Pretty average selection, nothing too special. Their fish balls are absolutely atrocious. My friend described it as "is this sh*t in the middle". Do not get that. - Also, there were so many flies? gnats?? around the produce EWWWW. One of the workers had to bring out their electric fly swatter and everything was just PAH PAH PAH so that makes me question the hygiene of the restaurant It's overall ~fine~ but I definitely don't think it's to die for

The waitlist wasn't bad but they won't you a table unless all of your parties show up being present. Four people we got best of both worlds and all you can eat choices for dinner sections. Variety of food selections that you can't go wrong with. You get to choose meats, veggies, and sides with drinks as much as you would like. If you go here for your birthday you get to eat there for free, must check out don't loose such a great deal. Many choices to follow and great hotpot especially for this winter seasons!

I havent been here and years and the set up has completely changed. It's now an AYCE hot pot place, with so many options. We came for dinner and got the classic menu. You have to order the meat options, but everything else is in the buffet section and there's a ton to choose from. There's a variety of seafood, vegetables and mushrooms, fishballs, and noodles, and also a sauce bar. Everything was fresh and the broth was nice. Service was quick and the meats we order came out fast. They have a few private rooms, otherwise it's casual seating.

The last time I visited Happy Lamb (formerly Little Sheep) was before COVID, and I was curious to see how it's changed since then. While it's still all-you-can-eat, the experience is very different now. They've introduced different pricing tiers based on the variety of meats and drinks included, which is a nice touch for those who want more options. However, the restaurant is now largely self-service. Other than the cuts of meat, everything else--noodles, vegetables, seafood, and sides--needs to be picked up from the buffet line. While I appreciate being able to choose exactly what I want, I miss the convenience of having everything brought to the table. Overall, I found the experience underwhelming. The selection, quality, and pricing at KPot down the road are significantly better in my opinion. I much preferred the way Happy Lamb was run pre-COVID, and unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.

Great AYCE spot when you want some hot pot! They have a couple tiers depending on meat preferences. The food is very fresh and the broth is flavorful. Good variety of proteins, veg, and add-ons at the bar. There was also a cotton candy machine when I went. I'd recommend checking it out (but the parking does get full quickly during peak hours).

Ask the Community - Happy Lamb Hot Pot

Do they take reservations for large parties e.g. 10+?

    Yes!

The one in flushing is halal are you?

There weren't any pork products being sold.

Are they back to there old ways of ordering or is it still all you can eat?

    Still AYCE.

Apparently Monday October 11th google says there going to be open. Can anyone confirm this?

They are open. I ate there earlier today.

It is October 3rd, anyone know when there going to open?

I peeked inside the restaurant yesterday (Saturday, October 2, 2021) and the renovation is still going on.

Are they open for business (September 2021)?

As of today (9/28) they are still closed for renovations, but I had to drive there to find out -- they're not answering their phone.

    Are they open?

Yes, they've been open. Sometimes it can be hard to tell if they are because they're normally not busy and often no one is working the front to welcome and seat customers. Wait a bit when you enter or call ahead of time to be safe. Also, noticed…

Do they still have the lunch special?

They now have Hot Pot Combos instead. You can check it out on their Yelp page, under "Menu".

Is it open for indoor dining?

Yes, I looked through the windows tonight and saw people eating indoors

    Do you offer outdoor dining?

No, there is no room to set up outdoor dining.

    Is it byob?

    Yes, it's BYOB :)

    How casual is this restaurant?

    Very casual. No dress code.

    All you can eat?

No it's not but the orders has huge portions. To the point that the last thing you will remember is what being hungry feels like lol

Anyone know how Sunday prices compare to the normal weekday lunch specials?

Weekday lunch specials are a little over $11 per person. Weekend pricing is generally the same as a la carte weekday pricing. Noticed more ingredients are offered during dinner than lunch on weekdays. Not sure if that's also the case on weekends but…

Is there pork in the soup base?

    Chicken

What is in the Hotpot wonton? It is so good but can't figure out what it is!

The seafood is extremely fresh, the broths are rich and flavorful, and the selection of small dishes is huge. There are tons of options for sides, appetizers, and even BBQ items before the meal. The dessert selection is also impressive. One thing I hope they can improve is the ice jelly (冰粉). The current red version tastes a bit like Jell-O, which feels a little off compared to authentic Chongqing ice jelly -- would love to see a more traditional texture and flavor in the future. My personal must-haves here are the lobster, crayfish, beef tripe, and pork aorta (黄喉) -- always fresh, always delicious. Overall, amazing quality, super fresh seafood, and great variety. There is such a large selection of seafood to choose from, for the price of $63.99 per person, it is not bad especially considering how much seafood and meat costs. Ordering is easy as each table has their own tablet to place orders but my only gripe was that staff need to enter a code before you can submit to the kitchen. Drinks are self service and you can get as many as you like, from sodas, water, soy milk, green tea. There is also a sauce bar that is kept very clean. Decor is amazing as staff informed me that the paintings on the walls were hand painted by an artist from China. For every 2 people, you get an option of a lobster or another type of seafood. Seafood options range from mussels to class and even razor clams. Plenty of meat and veggie options as well. Although this is supposed to be a hotpot and bbq restaurant, hotpot is the only thing available as the restaurant does not have the proper ventilation installed for the bbq grills, although the grills are right next to the hotpot. That's unfortunate as I was looking forward to grilling some of the seafood. For dessert, they had durian which I tried for the first time. It was super creamy and sweet! I've been missing out this whole time! Overall, our entire experience was great and I would definitely return.

Because it was so uniquely good and I made it a mission to bookmark this in my mental food archives. For anyone who has eaten hot pot many times from all restaurants available throughout NYC, you typically dip and cook your foods in a broth and focus on eating just the cooked foods. Here is a different story, you enjoy drinking the broth altogether with your food. Lots of things I found fascinating was each table had a chicken timer on top for the staff to see when the golden broth was at each table, to ensure it sustained well and not foamed up and wasted. This broth was so mindblowingly good that I did not even needed to go to the dipping sauces station for my meal. If I had to describe the taste without degrading the broth, think of it as an elevated chicken egg soup but 10x's better. As the flavor does justice because it's brewed for 10 hours with care and pride. The staff did a good job and our server made sure when we added the food for cooking, they instructed how long to cook each item: Wagyu beef, abalone, greens and noodles to not soil the broth's flavor. This place was easy to get a table for 2 on a Saturday night, maybe because on a flood watch day. Very comfortable seating and even the drinkware and dish equipment were top notch to enhance our experience. Important factor too with hot pot dining, there's no aftermath hot pot odors stuck on your clothes as this broth did none of the sort. I've never had this type of hotpot before and anything new that leaves a memorable experience for me, makes me want to food research further, like how this type of broth idea started. A good option for those not wanting to do AYCE for hot pot and pay a reasonable cost. One of the meals I will have dreams of and remember for a long time.

In addition to the hot pot broths and à la carte ingredients you can add to the broth, they also have appetizers, rice and noodles. Our server was so sweet. She walked us through the menu and made sure to grab a kids tray for my daughter to use to eat her food. She came by often to check if we needed anything extra. She also gave us a container to pack our leftovers and broth to take home. We all were super happy with our meal and service. Special dishes like the green pepper-covered beef are great for those who like spice. Meatballs and house made shrimp balls were ok. The noodle I asked how long it'd take to cook, and they basically told me to test like I would with spaghetti- take a piece, break it open and see if it's fully cooked. No sense of time or anything extra in the way of service. Overall too spicy and oily for me, but the lamb was good quality and the ice jelly dessert was an interesting mix of clear jelly, sour plum-like juice and some dessert haw flakes and spices. Not very sweet. Water pitcher and other service items (napkins, chopsticks) were provided initially but for any refills or additional plates, chopsticks, etc. you had to call waitstaff over. Didn't change plates or anything for us. They do take credit cards. Clean and large space, while I'd expected more ventilation, didn't walk out feeling overwhelmed with aromas so something was going for it. Seats were comfortable and they didn't rush us out.
