Donut and donut balls!
Khushkirath K.

The service was great they were very nice to me and the donuts are super delicious! Highly Highly recommend

Baby sized donut

This place caught my eye when I went to a store near by and it hit my craving. They also had a HUGE doughnut!!! It was almost the size of my newborn. Doughnuts aren't too expensive compared to other places and the guy who helped me was very nice. If I'm in the area again I'll be cooking back for sure.

They come in a bag!

Lady was very nice and helpful! Got free donut holes! Easy parking right in front and good variety!

King Pin Donuts is a neighborhood staple! Located on Durant Avenue, it is close to the UC Berkeley…read morecampus and is a popular spot for students. This well-established donut shop is small but has lots of options. There is also some outdoor seating right outside the store. The service is quick, and the person behind the counter is always willing to answer questions. My friend and I both tried an apple fritter, and my partner got a chocolate milk. The apple fritter was crispy with a nice glaze on top and delicious chunks of caramelized apple inside. This donut was extremely sweet, but honestly it's exactly what we needed! I normally go for apple cider donuts, so this was a great alternative. It's a good place to go when friends are visiting!

I feel like I could taste cleaning agents and other products that were not a part of the ingredients for the doughnut itself. The cinnamon donut I got was old and a waste of money. Both of the donuts weren't cheap. They arranged from 3 to 5 dollars and are not fresh. The customer service that was provided was okay. The ambience is what you would typically expect from a donut shop. In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this donut shop to others. They could improve their business by decreasing the amount of donuts they make so that they don't have tons of identifiable old tasting donuts.

Omg, such great ideas for selling mochi donuts and drinks! Such a perfect combo!!…read more This place has been on my list to try, so when I was in Berkeley yesterday, I had to stop by! I got the Strawberry Lychee Roasted Matcha Latte (Hojicha) and the Ube Coconut Butter Mochi Donut As I've been more into hojicha lately, I had to try the strawberry and lychee flavor! It was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. I loved it! The donut was so chewy and delicious, and the Ube flavor on top was amazing. I also love that it's an open kitchen, so you can actually see them making everything fresh. It smells SO good when you walk in! Definitely add this place to your list if you're around the area! FYI, there's no designated parking lot, but there's plenty of street parking around. There's also no seating inside. Hopefully they open more locations around the Peninsula because this combo is too good! PLEASE!

Especially at the price point, you expect a more premium drink. The matcha was gritty and tasted mostly like milk, with just an essence of whatever flavor it was paired with. For the price, I was expecting something much more flavorful and refined. The donuts were fine, but nothing particularly special or memorable. Overall, I just don't think the drinks or donuts justify the price compared to what's available now.

We got dressed, put the dog into her harness and made the drive up to Berkeley. The square block that houses SoDo seems to be all wineries. It's a good thing we saw the episode because we rarely drink wine and never go wine tasting. SoDo occupies only sells donuts and coffee out of a small corner of a large building. There is a large variety of tables and seats outside of the building and a couple inside. Service was friendly. The display area isn't huge, but if you don't see what you were hoping for, it's a good idea to ask. They may have it behind the counter, out of sight. As usual, because I was outside with the dog and she was the one ordering, she kept it simple. "One of each please". That was one Apple Fritter, six Sour Dough Donuts, a "Slice of Summer" Focaccia, one hot and one iced latte, tip and tax. About $80! In general, what we got looked delicious, albeit a bit small in size. But they were large in flavor. You could definitely taste the sourdough flavor because it was not overwhelmed by the topping or filling. The dough was very springy. Unlike a regular donut that squishes down when you bite into and then stays somewhat flat, these donuts returned to their shape minus the bite. I enjoyed my Iced Latte although I'm guessing they only offer one size. I usually order the largest cup available. As I'm writing this, we've only tried the Apple Fritter and two other flavors so far. Below are some pictures of what we got. I'll name the donuts in the pictures later once I figure out what they are. Would I come here again? Yes!

My espresso drink was great. My daughter and I tried a few of the donuts. Tasty. I also tried their caramels and hazelnut toffee. Excellent. Service was friendly. Next time, I'm really curious to try their breakfast bowl.

I'm a huge fan of mochi donuts and also love mochi boba drinks, so I knew I had to come check Mochiholics out. Arriving around 7pm on a Sat evening, this spot was surprisingly empty. We were able to order at the self-service kiosk without a wait, and received our order pretty promptly afterwards. The prices are pretty reasonable, and I love their selection. Although we were pretty full so we did not partake of any mochi donuts that evening, we opted to share an Ube Coconut Milk Smoothie w/ Boba. My wife, who usually does not drink much boba (hence the sharing of a cup) wound up really loving the drink, and actually drank about half of it herself. The taro was fresh and very strong, and the boba quality was soft, chewy and delicious. We have easily found our new, favorite local boba spot with Mochiholics. And look forward to many more visits into the foreseeable future!
