Came here a while back because i have driven by tons of times on my way from Van Wert to Lima and back. Absolutely love the decor, has that 50s burger place/diner feel. Takes a bit to get your food, but the food is great. Ive had their burgers and chicken tenders... both absolutely delish. Definitely worth coming here for a bite.

They must have switched to mini mushroom and Swiss burgers. It's been a while since I've been to Happy Daz, and I won't be back.

Food is not worth the prices. Servers are rude and not helpful. The tables were not clean, and the highchair was sticky.

Half smoothie that they gave me and chewy chicken that should be Crispy

Fries were cold and my 4.89 small smoothie was half filled left me livid chewy chicken

I miss a few things from the 2 years that I lived in Lima, and Happy Daz T-Loins are definitely one of them. Not something you see very often and they are sooo good. A little difficult to eat since the meat to bun ratio is out of whack, but so worth it. I usually try to swing by Happy Daz if I'm traveling through Lima.

The Cheeseburger Combo with extra pickles and no bacon. Fries not shown in picture.

She thought the sandwich was about average compared to all the tenderloin sandwiches she's ever had but she really liked the fries.

A friend of mine recommended that I should try The Grind since he knows I am really into coffees, breakfasts and brunch. The morning I came to The Grind, was still frigid even though it was supposed to be spring. I was looking forward to a good cup of coffee and a good breakfast to warm my up. I brought my brother along because, I needed help carrying stuff for the shopping trip. There was no wait even though the place was beginning to fill up to capacity. We sat down and ordered our drinks. One thing I didn't like from the get go was that this place is almost siloed into a coffee shop and a cafe. There is an area in the front where people who want to get coffee to go can order, which is smart and efficient. But, when you sit down, you do not get a coffee menu along with your food menu. The coffee menu is located in the front which would either require you to get up to see what they have or just make a random order. We chose the latter and just asked for two white chocolate mochas. My brother ordered a breakfast skillet, while I ordered the Grind special. I added pictures of the menu to the review so anyone unfamiliar with these items can look them up. We waited quite a long time for the food, think it was about 30 minutes. You could tell they were understaffed. Eventually we got our food. My brother liked the skillet, i mostly liked my meal. The breakfast potatoes were bland and lacked any seasoning. The rest of my meal was good though. One thing we both did not like were the coffees. Usually when I go to a cafe they present the coffee to you in a certain way. They have some design made with foam on the coffee, not here. The coffee also was ok. The taste didn't wow me. Maybe the time we came it was just off because of how many people were in here. Still overall, I did enjoy my meal here.

It's open, there is a bar to your right as you enter and lots of seating to your right and front. Can eat at bar. We sat, mimosas and bloodies available. Or for that matter- whatever you can think of. They have scotch eggs swimming in a bowl of gravy... yes gravy... and it was delicious. Definitely a Mexican "flair" with lots of black beans, sauces, etc. I stuck with a Belt sandwich - nice and crispy bread with bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato. Friendly service and lots of value! Glad we found this spot since we are headed to Ohio a few times a year.

We did not have a good experience this time. Our bartender Shanna was less than enthusiastic about serving us. She had an attitude & was yawning Alot! We ordered margaritas, which were good as always. Then we ordered our dinner. i ordered the perch dinner W fries & coleslaw. The perch was good, the fries were way overdone & coleslaw bland. My friend ordered prime rib medium rare. The rib was served Medium to Medium well. Shanna took it away & brought a Médium rare one, which was much better. I almost forgot about the Horrible house salads she served us. She returned them & brought us the Cole slaw & Augratin potatoes. The mistakes were corrected, but totally changed our view of the Dark Horse. I hope improvements will be made!

I love the no-frills vibe of the venue, staff and customers. My first impression? Dark! I arrived at noon:30 because a passing acquaintance mentioned Lombardo's having the best BPTS. The staff and regulars numbered five and were bantering about nothing at high decibel. I sat at the bar and grabbed a menu. It is a perfectly useful, simple, no-frills list of food and prices. The bartender/waitress was a tad slow to engage this newcomer, but finally got around to taking my order and delivering a glass of water. My second impression? Still dark. The BPTS arrived after the usual wait and was hot from the fryer. It comes with nothing, but the usual garnishes are available for an up-charge that seems a tad rich. $1 for a slice of winter tomato? Pass. $1 for a slice of cheese? Pass. $1 for a slice of onion? Pass. The bun was fresh and the pickle spear was beginning to trend from crisp and crunchy towards a hint of limp. I enjoyed the porky goodness and flashbacks to my childhood BPTS memories. Will I return? Probably. I hope that the kitchen will do breakfast-for-lunch. I am also curious about their hamburger ... $3.50, but the double hamburger is more than 2x the regular burger. What's with that?
