We ordered all our Thanksgiving/birthday sweets from Sara's. The cinnamon rolls were delicious. The iced cutouts were gorgeous & tasty. We were in town for a baseball game, decided to stop and try Sara's. This is a must try! The cupcakes and cookies were perfectly cooked.

Part 2 of my mission to cheer up my family was going to Sara's Sweets. This place had been bookmarked by me since middle of 2021, and I finally came in February of this year. This place specializes in cupcakes, although they do sell cookies and you can order a full cake. My mom loves anything cake so I came for her. She was down as she was halfway through her chemo treatment and she definitely needed a big pick me up. Place is as busy but i only waited 5 minutes to place my order. I got a half dozen cupcakes, 2 vanilla vanilla, 2 chocolate chocolate, 1 carrot and 1 red velvet. The lady attending me quickly boxed up my order and I was on my way home. Later that night my family was eating cupcakes. I tried both the chocolate chocolate and the vanilla vanilla... omg these cupcakes are the best! My mom was enjoying her carrot cake one. My family was happy and that is all what mattered to me. Great cupcakes... may need to buy a cake from here for moms bday in July. read more

I'm temporarily living in Lima for work and being a foodie from a major city like Houston, I didn't have the highest expectations for a small town bakery. But O. My. God. Every thing I've gotten from there has been phenomenal. I love to bake so I know my baked goods. I also usually don't review places unless I've had a extremely negative experience. But Sara's is amazing. Fresh, moist, yummy cupcakes without being overly sweet. The brown butter chocolate chip cookie is one of the best chip cookies I've ever had in my life. Slightly melted chocolate chips, soft cookie with gently crisped edges, just perfection all around. They also had a decent but reasonable variety of sweets. I'm always wary of bakeries that have 50 different flavors available daily. Because they usually aren't fresh and made the day of. Sara's had about 7 - 10 cupcake varieties along with a few bars and cookies. I'm so happy I found this little gem. One of the best places in Lima! This is definitely a place that could easily compete in a major city. Do yourself a favor and check them out. read more

Sara's location is super easy to find, new & very clean. The shop is laid out very well with the cupcakes and treats easily within sight. I was very pleased with my purchase and very happy I decided to stop while in town, I will surely be back again! read more

These people making the reviews here must be friends. It is a nice place, very nice people but let's be honest, I can make better cupcakes at home! Nothing really special, and the cost is ridiculous. I always want local businesses to succeed and I want them to as well, but cost is just crazy for a cupcake no better than homemade or a local grocery store bakery. read more

While I have not been to the store, a friend brought some cupcakes to me in Columbus. I thoroughly enjoyed the Buckeye cupcake!!! It was AMAZING!! Moist cupcake with a sweet peanut butter inside, excellent frosting in an ample amount, topped with a handmade Buckeye candy!!! I'm smiling!!! See you when I get to Lima!!! read more

One of Lima's hidden gems! To be honest, I am not really into sweets, but these cupcakes are irresistible. There are so many appetizing options. My favorite is the cookie craze and peanut butter with hot fudge. The worst part is choosing how to eat the cupcakes. You aren't sure whether you should eat it with a fork and knife or just get messy with your hands. I always make sure to stop at Sara's sweets once a week when I am in town. read more

Just had the best Old Fashion cupcake. Yellow cake and chocolate frosting. Reminded me of my 94 year old southern grandma aka: Mamaw's homemade cake. She always made us a yellow cake with homemade chocolate fudge frosting. Cake was very moist and frosting was creamy and fluffy. Great job Sara. I will be requesting this cupcake again. I came here one day to get some cupcakes for my family. They had nice variety of flavors and lots of choices. The cupcakes where ok. Not the worst, but not the best. My main reason for leaving 2 stars is because THERE NEVER OPEN. Every time I drive by there always closed! I wouldn't recommend this place because there practically never open. read more

Stopped by after work tonight. Purchased 6 cupcakes that came to a total of $12.50! I got an assortment, trying churro, black bottom cheese cake, red velvet and salted caramel. I I shared them with friends and everyone said they were good butt we all decided way too sweet I didn't feel they lived up to to the cost but they were good Some work is needed on the toothache sweetness but the cake was moist . You could tell what the flavor was supposed to be but it wasn't as balanced as it should be. I can see promise for the future if you work on balancing your flavors YOU maybe should consider a More Lima price point. Good Luck. My husband treated me and my birthday guests (11) to a delicious assortment of cupcakes. He was able to buy a couple of gluten free for those who needed it, and they were equally delicious.
