Everytime I have gotten something from here, it has hit the spot...Last night was no different ..The full meal, soup, and egg roll were all delicious....And the Door Dash service was wonderful ....

Eggplant in garlic sauce with white rice.

We ordered out after realizing they had the eggplant in garlic sauce dish. I've been looking and looking for that! I grabbed said eggplant dish as well as General Tso Tofu. My mom got the Sesame Chicken, Vegetable Fried Rice, and Wonton Soup. The eggplant dish was exactly what I wanted. Exactly. It had the perfect amount of sauce, garlic, and an abundance of perfectly cooked eggplant. I will order this over and over again from here. The General Tso? Maybe not. There was a thin layer of sauce at the bottom of the dish. Although there was a lot of tofu, it was almost all dry. Very dry. Maybe they were having an off evening, and I ordered the dish just as they were running out of the sauce? I will probably try this one more time. It is one of my favorite dishes, after all. Mom says her sesame chicken was made perfectly. It had the perfect amount of sauce, and it wasn't too sweet. The rice was good, your normal vegetable fried rice. The Wonton soup was very, very salty. She won't order that one again. There was some leakage in the bags, but thankfully, they were not just in the paper bag but a plastic one as well.

Tried dinner at one of the few Chinese restaurants in Durham! They serve pretty flavorful Sichuan food that isn't too spicy with shareable portion sizes. We came here on a weekday evening and it was pretty empty for dine-in. We ate: Spicy Beef Dry Pot ($19.99) - Like hot pot but everything is stir fried! Pretty good. Mapo Tofu with Minced Pork ($13.99) - This is comfort food for me!

Shredded Pork, Wontons in Chili Oil, rice, Singapore Mei fun.

Still consistent with the limited dishes I tried recently. Gave this another shot despite the recent reviews and change in ownership. Service: Takeout only. Seemed harried - not an unpleasant experience, but more used to this in corner takeouts in Philly. Didn't tell me a total before I gave them payment, so I had to ask. Really? Food: Shredded Pork with Dried Tofu: Very good, with sliced garlic and celery. Wontons in chili oil: Really spicy and I used the oil for frozen dumplings the rest of the week. Singapore Mei Fun: Variety of protein and they did not skimp on the chicken. Spicy. Overall: I'd go back but be choosy about my dishes. Three stars are for the food.

Fried Chicken Wings (Delivery)

My housemate and I were SOooooo hungry, but she knew what she wanted, right away: General Tso's Chicken and House fried rice, no shrimp, with extra beef and chicken. I like, no LOVE quite a few Chinese American dishes, so it was a little harder for me. I decided to try something completely different today: Sour Cabbage with Crispy Intestine. The rest of the order was completed with Hot n' Sour Soup and Fried Chicken wings. Well, the Sour Cabbage was definitely sour, but delicious. The pieces of intestine, however, weren't crispy. Their consistency was more chewy than crispy. The dish was tasty, I don't like black beans in anything because they are bitter to me, so I knew not to eat them. Overall, I was proud of myself for trying a new Authentic dish that I liked. The hot n' Sour Soup was so good. If you're vegetarian, it is an amazing option for you. There's no meat in it. Some restaurants use tofu as well as either chicken or pork. It was spiced with just the right amount of spice too. I don't like it when it's so spicy that I can't enjoy it. The fried chicken wings were fried harder than I liked, but they were nicely seasoned. Everything was piping hot, and I am definitely going to continue to order delivery from them.

The good is good and the helpings are large. I also like the soup and the chips that come with it. Prices are reasonable.

Food was good! Staff was very friendly. We did takeout, so can only comment on food. We will dine here again when visiting Durham NC.

Kids loved the dumplings, Orange chicken and sesame chicken. Ambiance was a little lacking, but service was quick and it was clean.

I just can't believe all these good reviews after I went to Peony for lunch about 1 pm on Thursday…read more There was not another soul in the restaurant save two employees. I ordered poke. It was mostly rice mixed with sad iceberg lettuce ( mixed greens ) and the toppings were skimpy. For $18 this was disappointing. It was supposed to have three proteins. I added radish, crunchy onion and edamame. It was sad. In addition to the toppings I ordered there was a bunch of ginger and a marble-sized glob of wasabi hiding in the mix. Glad I avoided being surprised by that. I took the photo after I'd eaten so you can see how much rice was still in the bowl. The waiter was super sweet. He'd do better at another job. I'll stick to Zen Fish. There everything is fresh and vibrant and the choices are more exciting. Plus, their mixed greens are actually 'mixed greens'.

First of all, the AC was not working on the night we visited so things did not get off to a great start. It was warm in the dining area. The lighting was dark (maybe to not add to the heat). We enjoyed our Thai ice teas and seaweed salad appetizer but found our entrees (angel hair special and marine couple) just okay -- nothing special. The scallops in the marine couple were pretty tasteless. The owner came by and chatted with us a little bit, which is always nice. We've had tastier food at other local Asian restaurants so we'll probably pass on coming back soon. We wish them well.

The staff are incredibly friendly and hardworking, and the atmosphere feels both welcoming and authentic. All items are affordable and with reasonable prices! It's the only legit dim sum place near Chapel Hill/Carrboro, about a 25-minute drive for us--and we gladly make the trip almost every week. We simply can't get enough of their food! Warning: Everything on their menu is dangerously addictive. You've been warned! Our Favorites 2. Pork Dumpling (Siu Mai / Siomai) -- Steamed pork in a wonton wrapper, perfectly juicy with just the right balance of pork and vegetables in every bite. A delicious classic done right. 6. Beef Onion Dumpling in Chili Sauce -- One of the best dumplings we've had--and we've been to dim sum spots all over the world! The beef is flavorful and juicy, wrapped in a thin, perfectly chewy skin. The chili sauce complements the filling beautifully without overpowering it. Generous portion, amazing value, flawless execution. 9. Steamed BBQ Pork Bun -- Soft, fluffy buns filled with mildly sweet BBQ pork. Comforting, classic, and delicious every time. 11. Egg Yolk Bun -- Lightly sweet custard filling inside soft steamed buns. The perfect bite of dessert to end your dim sum feast. 16. Bean Skin Stuffed with Pork -- Juicy, lightly seasoned pork wrapped in delicate bean skin. Flavorful but not overpowering--simple and satisfying. 27. Crispy Shrimp Ball -- Juicy and lightly seasoned shrimp goodness inside a crispy ball. They disappeared into the void of my stomach as soon as they touched our table. 28. Crispy Taro Puff with Chicken -- Think of these as bite-sized empanadas with savory, well-seasoned chicken inside--like the best mini chicken pot pies! Crispy, flavorful, and completely addictive. I could easily eat 30 of these! 41. Crispy Beef Onion Pot Sticker -- Pan-fried to golden perfection for that satisfying crunch. The beef and chives inside are juicy and flavorful, and the portions are generous. I dream about these dumplings when I'm asleep. Absolute perfection. Take all my money! The Finishing Touch Dim sum is meant to be enjoyed with tea, and they offer a simple traditional brew that pairs beautifully with every dish. If there's one downside--it's that they're only open Friday through Sunday. We wish they were open all week! Everything on their menu is so good! Best Dimsum and service in Durham!

I don't think they allow reservations, it's just first come first serve or I think you can also call ahead to put yourself on a wait list. Fantastic ambiance, really attentive service and fresh ingredients. It's not all you can eat, you order by plate. Which is nicer, you don't feel so bloated after eating there because you can portion control easier, and it's more cost effective. I'm personally a big fan of their beef cuts, tripe, lamb, even some more niche cuts like the ox aorta are good too. The side dishes are great too. Particularly a fan of their fried rice cakes. Highly recommend coming here for hotpot!

I also enjoyed the potato appetizer the most! Definitely my favorite thing there. And the Thai tea was perfect for me! Now the service for me was okay not the best service I've had. While their noodles are definitely a standout in terms of texture and chew, some of the dishes we ordered this time were a letdown... Between the three of us, we tried two noodle dishes (hand pulled noodles with spare ribs & shaved noodles with bean paste aka zha jiang mian) and two regular dishes that came with rice (eggplant with garlic sauce & Hunan roasted pork aka hong shao rou). Outside of the regular menu that comes in a giant booklet, we also ordered the salted egg yolk lava buns off of their separate dim sum menu. In terms of the good, I absolutely LOVED the texture of the shaved noodles and also really enjoyed the texture of the hand pulled noodles, though I personally prefer a wider noodle which would be the shaved ones. Additionally, the eggplant with garlic sauce was solid and so were the salted egg yolk lava buns! Now in terms of the not so great, while we understand that Hunan roasted pork comes with pork belly which can be fatty, many of the pork belly pieces in this dish were pretty much all fat with no lean meat (basically inedible) which I have not seen in this dish at other restaurants. Also, the sauce that came with the shaved noodles was very one dimensional and just tasted of sweet bean paste with very little savory / umami flavor.
