Station Square is apparently a Youngstown institution as it was celebrating 40 years! The restaurant is incongruously attached to a Super 8 motel, but don't let that throw you. This place is big, but it is well run. The staff is friendly. I sat down and my server appeared promptly and my food came out quickly, even on a busy Friday night. I had the salad of tomatoes and peppers, which is exactly what it was with a little oil and vinegar. Nothing fancy, but good. I had the chicken Parmesan with angel hair pasta. Very good. Regardless of the reason, customers should not be seeing roaches crawling around while waiting for their food. By that point, I was already uncomfortable because I had been watching what was happening behind the counter. I noticed some employees handling food without gloves, while another employee wearing gloves repeatedly scratched their nose with those same gloves and continued working without changing them. That is not the level of cleanliness or food handling customers expect when ordering a meal. Between seeing a roach in the dining area, the questionable food-handling practices, and the number of excuses that were offered instead of genuine concern, I completely lost my appetite. Although they refunded my money, that doesn't change the experience I had. Cleanliness and sanitation should never be optional in a restaurant. Based on what I personally witnessed today, management has serious cleanliness issues that need to be addressed immediately. This LOW QUALITY Buffet started nicely a few weeks ago, but turned out to be one of the WORST places I ever visited. They had ONE person that was nice and respectful to the customers and now that person left them just like 5 others that came in , worked there for a few days, and left in a rush! Apparently their food is not clean., Not fresh, and the kitchen stuff may do other things to it!! They encourage their female waitresses to fondle male customers like it was a Brothel!! They have people who work there that have been involved with stealing items from Walmart!! They are LOUD , and Scream in Chinese NON STOP!' How can anyone sit down to eat in a place like that??
