Very rare for me to give just 1 star, but Happy Boy has earned that 1 star in my experience. I've been here four times in the past few months for lunch, and only because it is conveniently close to one of my work locations. I've had burgers, fries, breakfast, and a carne asada burrito on my trips there. The food itself is probably 2 stars; it's edible, but no way I could call the food "good". The portions are fair, and the prices are on par with other grill/burger/Mexican food places like this. For example, the burger/fries combo is about $10. The staff are okay, friendly enough. But the inside of the place could be cleaner. I've been in for a late lunch and found half the empty tables still need to be cleaned. The reason I knocked Happy Boy down to 1 star is that two times they got my order wrong. On my most recent visit there, I ordered a hamburger. No cheese. The woman taking my order even confirmed "no cheese". And of course when my food arrived at my table, the burger had cheese. So, despite the convenience, I will not be going back to Happy Boy. I gave them 4 tries, and all 4 tries led to disappointment. read more

My entry to happy boy grill was amazing, walking in I was greeted by trumpets and the sound of a Victorian Orchestra. Looking at the menu everything seemed appetizing, the aura was so strong, My wife was talking about some "Nobu" but she knows damn well we got Happy Boy Grill around the corner. There was a few flies and a few homeless tweakers but it's ok. The ladies were very professional and had no problem making my order in a timely manner, My sandwich was so exquisite it tasted like it was crafted by the finest of ingredients and Michelin star chefs. When I sat down to eat some tweaker was ranting about fake charges made on his credit card but it's ok. When I finished my meal I was satisfied, I ate everything including the napkins. The meat is comparable to A5 Wagyu in terms of quality, it tasted like those 5 star restaurants but cheaper and better. The soda fountain was quite dissapointing, I wanted a Strawberry Fanta but it got diluted because it was 85% water. But its all good, just get rid of the flies and fix the fountain. read more

I ordered for pick up via grub hub. It said it won't be ready till an hour, but when i called, the food was already ready. Thank goodness! I tried the chicken breast melt. Wow!! So good! The toast was super buttered, and toasted perfectly. The flavor of chicken breast had a hint of oregano and wasn't bland. It has fresh lettuce, tomatoes and avocados. We have used the Del Amo Station several times, usually weekends, and this place is across the street on the corner. They have a large diner menu. The food has been spot on each time. We've had breakfast items- French toast, breakfast burritos, hash browns- all the way you like it, hot and fresh made. Today we had the carne asada tacos (carne, cilantro, onions on corn tortillas). These were hefty tacos with excellent flavor! Both the salsa verde and the salsa roja were exceptional! Had them with cold bottles of Modelo beers- yum. Value was good too. Sorry no photos today. Tonight was the first time trying this place, with my wife and daughter and I was very pleasantly surprised. First of all we were warmly welcomed by the counter lady Vivian. We ordered and we're served promptly, Vivian brought our food to us. I had a double cheeseburger combo, my Ladies had pastrami combos. The burger was perfect. Fries were crispy and fresh. The pastrami was done just right and not greasy. After we ate we chatted a bit with Vivian and the other staff Vivian proceeded to give us samples of their chili and chili verde. This place has good food. My one star review it's because I ordered two days is a row and both days the order was missing food. The first day I ordered asada fries with two burritos and two drinks. I was missing one burrito and a drink. The second day, I ordered the BOGO cheese burger combo plus and extra burger combo. When I received my order thru Uber I only received 3 burgers and 3 drinks , which should have been 5 burgers and fries with 5 drinks. Being that I was on my lunch brake it was very upsetting. This place is the closest to my job and I regularly order, I used to go through drive through but I hate the long line that is usually there at lunch time.
