    Chicken teriyaki
    Juz C.

We went here on Friday lunchtime. We ordered the chicken teriyaki, and beef yakisoba. Apparently I guess not alot of people do dine in here. So they don't even have tap water for dine in customer. The old guy was asking us to buy our water. Anyway the food was so so nothing interesting really. I asked if they had miso soup since it was in the menu nope they do not. Also no calamari even if it was also in the menu. Far disappointing really, and it seems it's run by one old guy. He is the cook, the cashier and probably the owner too.

Not much to look at, but don't let that fool you. This is the best teriyaki place around. Chicken is grilled to tender, juicy, savory perfection. Can't argue with flavor!

Spicy Garlic Chicken (a bit too sweet; left) and teriyaki chicken & calamari lunch combo were surprisingly decent.

We decided to try this place since the Hawaiian food restaurant in the same area was closed. One guy seems to be handling everything from taking orders to cooking, so you gotta wait 5-10 minutes. We ordered a Spicy Garlic Chicken (a bit too sweet; left) and teriyaki chicken & calamari (right) lunch combo and they were surprisingly decent. The sauce is a bit too sweet for us, but maybe we can ask for less or the sauce on the side next time. For around $12/$13, you get pretty good portion of meat as you can see in the picture. We'd come back here again.

Update! Always amazing and on point!! Seriously don't know why people don't come here more often! Chicken katsu has never been bad! Iv always enjoyed coming here since I was a kid, pretty good place! Service is friendly and good too.

Really good food! We were a bit wary to try this place because of the reviews, but some reviewers commented on the katsu and how good it was, so we finally took the risk. So glad we did. We got our order to go, and the person that took our order was pleasant and prompt. Ordered a side of gyoza, delicious. I had chicken teriyaki and short ribs. I got them both spicy and I found it to be flavorful, and a generous portion. Husband ordered the chicken katsu, which he also enjoyed. Take the risk and give this place a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Sushi Koushi is a tiny spot tucked inside the mall -- the place was pretty clean, nothing too fancy about it. We ordered Green Tea, Unagi Nigiri, Jalapeño Bombs, Dragon Roll, and the Koushi Roll. Let me start by saying -- everything we ordered was pretty amazing! A note: We are a pretty hard family to please when it comes to sushi. So far, we've only had one go-to sushi place for the past five years. This one? Even my daughter loved it. The flavors were beautifully balanced -- nothing was too overpowering. The quantity was more than sufficient for a family of three. Usually at other places, we end up ordering one more roll, but not here! I especially loved the Koushi Roll, which had seared salmon -- absolutely delicious. For the Jalapeño Bombs, we requested they replace the tuna with crab, and it was perfect for our taste buds. Needless to say, my daughter finished most of them! The service was really quick -- we were in and out within 40 minutes, which is impressive for the amount of food we ordered. Overall, a really nice and pleasant experience. Super glad we tried this one out -- highly recommend!

They are nice, friendly, and very efficient at their work. All of them, not just the servers but busers, janitor, cooks, everyone. The owner and managers must be very good at selecting the right staff and training them well. As an example, when I pulled out my credit card to pay, a server was there in literally 3 seconds to present me the bill. The restaurant is very cozy and not too loud. First time trying the Redmond location and it was just as good (minus the wait). If it's your first time, go for the rosu or hire cutlet. I've tried the premium cuts like iberico and kurobuta, but honestly didn't find a huge difference in taste. What stands out is the texture--super crispy coating with juicy, tender pork inside. The sides and condiments are well thought out too. I'm a big fan of the tomato & cheese add-on. The curry add on, on the other hand, was too overpowering in flavor and masked the pork's natural flavor. Definitely a Seattle staple and worth checking out if you enjoy pork cutlet!

Yet, it's disappointing to say that we've been sourly disappointed the last 2-3 times we came here. Not sure if it's management change or something happened, but Nakagawa lost its magic with us. 1. The service has been terribly slow and just not inviting anymore. After ordering, we waited easily 35-40 min for the food. I know it takes time to meticulously prep rolls, but after 30 min of just sitting and waiting, you can't help but start feeling hangry. And this isn't just a one-time occurrence - this happened multiple times for us. 2. The bento box quality. I LOVE bento boxes - it was such a treat to dine on so many different Japanese options, like a sampler box of goodness. Ranging from nigiri to sushi, from tempura to the soup, bento boxes have a special place in my heart. Yet, I feel like Nakagawa's bento boxes have sadly missed that mark. The protein (chicken teriyaki/katsu) tastes old and oddly mushy, and the portions are quite small, just leaving me wanting more. Don't get me wrong - the fish is still good. Solid place for seafood, paired with a lengthy wait. But Nakagawa just lost its touch with us, and driving that 30-35 min trek is not worth it for us anymore.

It's a lot of money but all the food was so good and we left super full and satisfied. My favorite was probably the A5 wagyu course and my husband's was the clay pot rice with black cod. The rice was huge and they sent us home with leftovers which was enough for another 2 lunches! The different price points have a similar amount of food with some subtle differences in ingredients. Based on looking at other parties that were dining around us, the main upgrades we got were king crab instead of salmon in the hot pot course and black cod instead of sardines in the rice course. If I come again I might pick one of the lower price points because I don't think the differences were that significant, but overall really delicious meal and I would be interested in coming again.
