Our trip to this restaurant was a sad reminder of how differences continue to divide us in this world. Here at this restaurant, in Amsterdam, the home of previous Nazi occupation and Anne Frank's hiding place, my family and I experienced some of the worst racism and hostility we have ever experienced. Having read the good reviews about the food, we were excited to get a taste of local Dutch cuisine, only to be turned away. The waitstaff refused to serve us and while it was only 7:00pm and the restaurant closes at 10:30pm, they told us that there was no way they would be able to serve us that night. There were several other parties who had arrived after us, but only we were told that they could not accommodate us. I am so disappointed by the reception that we received at this restaurant, and I only hope that the restaurant and its staff will read this review and reflect on their own behaviors and prejudices. read more
