Reached out Hanlee's online to purchase a new 2025 Sentra in February 2026. Discontinued body style plus Nissan had some decent rebates. The quote I got back was a joke. Whatever decent discount they were giving was offset by the over $2000+ in nonsense add ons they added to the quote. I think it was a gps system, vin etch & door guards? I asked them to remove it as I wouldn't pay for that nonsense. They refused so I ceased contact. This is just another dealership trying to take advantage of buyers with overpriced add ons they don't want in order to increase their profits. They then proceeded to text me, call & email me several more times to try & convince me what a great deal they were offering & to come on down for a test drive. One of their texts actually arrived right in the middle of me signing the purchase documents on the Sentra at another dealership that was willing to sell without the BS add ons. Lol! read more

This place used to be amazing but things changed in service. My fleet Nissan blew its motor out of nowhere 60 miles past its warranty. It sat there for months, didn't move, all they did was stick a code reader on it and charge my employer $500 for diagnostics. When I came to empty the car, I found that the car started (much to their surprise because they never tried to move it). Pretty clearly just a head gasket but they didn't seem to want to put in the effort nor would they honor the fact that it's barely off warranty. We eventually scrapped the car and shortly thereafter a recall was issued for a total motor replacement on the same symptoms. The car unfortunately is long gone. Even though it was a work car, this caused tons of headaches for me that are still ongoing. I really loved that car, but the experience I had in service in both this incident and the months leading up have really turned me off. We were preparing to replace both our personal cars with Nissans and I was trying to convince my company (10,000 vehicle fleet) to look closer at Nissan as the primary choice. This experience, however, has turned me off so much that I'll never consider them again and I've 100% abandoned my efforts to change vendors. read more

I bought a used car on 9/5/25, and the transmission died within the first two hours of me driving it. I brought it back to Davis to get repaired and have received little to no communication from the dealership. At first, they tried to give me a different car instead of repairing the car I bought. They offered me a 2011 Subaru Impreza that could not get up to 65 mph, had scratches everywhere, and had a cracked rearview mirror. After I refused that car, they agreed to repair the one I bought. I've been told for the last three weeks that my car will be "ready by this Friday". I was told last week that it would be ready and delivered to me by today (10/20/25) and had to call them myself because I had received no communication from them. They told me that they are still waiting on parts and that it's looking like it will not be ready until Friday. I'm sick and tired of this, there is a severe lack of communication to customers who paid a good chunk of money for a car that should be able to function. Zero Stars - Extremely Unprofessional and Frustrating Experience I had one of the worst car-buying experiences at Hanlee's Davis Nissan in Davis, CA. I truly wish we had walked away, and I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this dealership. From the very beginning, their customer service was a disaster. Over the phone, I spoke to someone who clearly wasn't paying attention -- they kept repeating the same questions, missing basic details, and offered little to no helpful information, despite me explaining that we live over 2 hours away and needed clarity before making the trip. When we finally arrived, the salesperson stood directly outside the dealership door just watching us as we parked and got out of our car. It was awkward, uncomfortable, and frankly, invasive. We were barely 3-5 feet away and it felt like we were being surveilled instead of welcomed. Inside, things didn't improve. As we went through paperwork, the salesperson told us there was no warranty, even though the online listing clearly stated a 3-month/3,000-mile complementary warranty included. When I asked about it, she brushed it off with, "We don't warranty European cars." That should have been a red flag. Then came the numbers. On top of the car price, tax, and license, they added in charges for "anti-theft protection" and a cosmetic warranty -- things we never agreed to. They had already enrolled the car in these programs without our consent, leaving us no choice but to accept the added cost. It felt incredibly shady and manipulative. We should have known and just walked away. But, we decided to move forward and paid cash for the car anyway. After the purchase, we started receiving calls offering "free maintenance" -- There's no way we'd ever want to deal with this place again, let alone drive 2+ hours for service from a dealership that treated us this poorly. But it gets worse. Today, I received a call from a private number saying they needed to discuss emissions testing for the vehicle we purchased. Turns out, they never smogged the car before selling it, as legally required in California. The person I spoke with couldn't confirm if it had been done but said the DMV now needs the certificate -- which, as I know, would have been submitted electronically if they had actually done their job. So now, I have to find time in my packed schedule to get the car smog tested myself, hope it passes, and then try to get reimbursed. And if it doesn't pass? I'm left holding the bag for their negligence. Bottom line: this dealership cut corners, added hidden charges, failed to follow California law, and treated us like we didn't matter. On May 23rd of 2025 I bought a 2023 Nissan Rogue from Hanlees Nissan in Davis. After less than 6 months it blew a head gasket. There was no warning light on the dashboard. The car was under warranty, so they ordered a new engine. That was in early November. They recommended that I get a new EGR cooler because they guessed that it was possibly bad or just really dirty. THEY STILL HAVE MY CAR. They have not even taken the EGR cooler out of the car yet to see if it's good or not. Either way, they are not replacing that part. They said they would replace the EGR cooler OR the engine. That was told to me AFTER the new engine was already there. They have told me numerous times, beginning in early December, that my car would be ready in a week or at the end of the month. it's still there. I purchased my car from this dealership. I have regularly taken it in for oil changes and other maintenance. My last experience was absolutely terrible. On 7/30/2025, I took my Nissan Versa in to get an oil change. Before I took the car in, I checked under the hood and noticed that the radiator fluid overflow tank was low and I left it to see if they would notice during the general inspection. They didn't. That is a lack of diligence on their part for not checking fluid levels. I pointed it out after the service to the attendant and he was a little taken aback but did take the car back for 5 minutes and put some fluid in the tank. I asked him if I could talk to the manager, to which he replied that the manager was not in. I told him that it was okay and that I would like the manager to give me a call. It is now 8/23/2025. No call. So poor customer service. The last complaint I have is the price. This simple oil change and air filter bill was $324.59. Wow, that is a major price increase. Stealership alert, predatory pricing. My wife took her car in for a CVT fluid change yesterday and was told that the CVT fluid I obtained for her was the "wrong fluid". I provided a receipt that specifically states that it is the correct NS-3 fluid for her year/model. The service advisor told me that Nissan generously extended the warranty, but you need to use their fluid. Make no mistake, you did not extend the warranty out of the goodness of your hearts. You did it because of a class action lawsuit because your transmissions have an exceedingly high failure rate. In any event, I have no problem with this--your warranty, your rules. I don't think you'd void a warranty for using Mobil1 motor oil instead of Nissan but sure, I'll buy your fluid. I ask them what the CVT service will cost with their fluid and they tell me $349. Hold on, you quoted $80 for just the drain/fill if I provide my own fluid, what does the fluid cost? They tell me that it's $23 per bottle and I need 5 of them. $23 times 5 plus $80 is nowhere near $349 so I ask if my wife can just walk over to the parts department, buy the fluid for $115, and come and still be charged for $80. Yes, she can. You want to charge about 80% more for the same service because she went straight to service? I know the service advisor is simply enforcing rules made by someone else but this dealership has some seriously misinformed ideas of why warranties are extended and predatory pricing practices. He will tell you that some work or test was performed on your car that actually WAS NOT PERFORMED. The lie he told me cost me almost $200 (FALSE DIAGNOSTIC service fee) and would have cost me over $800 if I had taken his repair recommendation. I ultimately had to have the problem with my car repaired elsewhere at an honest and competent repair shop. I bought a pre-owned car from this dealership last year. While signing the paperwork, my fiancé asked about having the tire inflator that was supposed to come with the vehicle (a standard piece of equipment for that particular vehicle) replaced since it should've been included anyway. The finance guy agreed and wrote it into the contract. We finished signing the paperwork and we're given a single key. It was never disclosed that the second key that was supposed to come with the car wouldn't be included in the purchase. About 2 months later, the starter in the car gave out. I called the dealership and asked what they could do about it. They suggested I tow the car 2 hours to the dealership so they could look at it, but they would have to charge me for everything. I also asked about the tire inflator and second key since I already had them on the phone. The guy I talked to said I would have to drive to them to show them the contract in person so they could verify the information. How can they not have a copy of the contract in their system? I asked if I could email a picture of it and was told that wasn't sufficient. Dealing with car dealerships is never fun for me, but they made my experience the worst I've ever had at a car dealership. Nine months later and I still don't have the tire inflator or second key....all I have is a car that's missing equipment, a lot of frustration, and a horrible feeling toward Hanlee's Nissan. read more

From the beginning of purchasing my car through the dealership, I let them know I would need a delivery as I work for the department of health services and 2 people on my team were awaiting COVID results, but were assumed positive. I asked about discounts for essential health care workers and recent graduates, I knew a lot of dealerships and manufacturers were offering them. This dealership did not. so I agreed to full listing price, because it was the car I was looking for, and I was tired of looking. They said they would waive the delivery fees. I appreciate this, because along with being exposed, I have been working 11-12 hour days for some time now, due to the crisis. HOWEVER, when it came down to it, because I opted not to purchase any warranties or Gap insurance. The manager told me they "if you dont purchase the Gap or warranty I dont have the little profit to cover the $200 delivery and fuel[$167]." I am purchasing a used car for $27,000. I find it very hard to believe there is no profit there. I am so tired, I give up. I am paying full asking price and decided that I will save myself the $367 and go pick up. Quite possibly the worst auto dealership experience-- and not in the traditional incompetent way, they just waste your time and energy which is worse than all customer service fails. I came here on Black Friday, since Nissan had a "special deal". It was me and maybe one other customer in the building. Almost all of the staff were on their cell phones-- some were briefly nice, but most were clearly slacking off. There were 1 or 2 staff that were nice and at least checked in. Don't waste my time. I was here for 3 hours waiting, with the sales employee and Finance Manager playing tag and confusing us. (I'd prefer to speak to just one person, not two) I came with clear criteria (trade in, no down). They tried to talk me out of the trade, asking if there were friends or family willing to take my car (Seriously? If that was the case, I wouldn't spend all this energy trying to trade it in). The real kicker was encouraging to leave at 5 claiming no one was left at the bank to talk to (you close at 8, that's BS). They said they'd call us the next morning with an update. The next morning? No phone call. We called at 4pm, they claimed they were busy, and an hour later, never called. Do not waste my time. I did not spend 3 hours in your building, divulging all of my personal financial information to then NOT expect a call back. If you don't want to make a deal, then just say it. There was an issue with a package that I bought, and when I called the office to discuss this, the staff gave me the run-around for 3 weeks. When a Nissan Davis staff member answered my call, they ended up asking their supervisor for help. They tried to put me on hold, but actually I could still hear what they were saying lol. Embarrassing... Afterward, they just ignored all my calls. I had to contact the main office in Texas and ask them for a refund. The main office said that Nissan Davis would be the ones to give me the actual refund, but I appreciate the main office for letting me know what the status of my refund request was. Hanlees quoted my wife $300 for a new rack and installation. We scheduled the appointment for this morning. I take it in this morning and confirm the price for rack and installation is $300. No problem at all. $300 for the whole thing. Got it confirmed twice. Bingo-bango-bongo ready to go. Then like two hours later they call me and say that installation is $300. I said, "Yeah, that's what we agreed, $300 for the rack and installation." And they're like, "Yeah, $300 for the rack. And $300 for the installation." And I'm like, "Uh, what? Are you saying you want $600?" And they're like, "Oh yeah, $600 is the right price. Your wife probably doesn't know car service and got it wrong." Um. Hold up. No way. They insult my wife and try to go back on their word? Not happening. So I give them a piece of my mind and tell them not to touch the car. I called around and learned the part price was in fact ~$300 and that Hanlees did mess up and forget to include labor in the quote. Deciding to try to make it work, I called back and asked if they'd be willing to meet in the middle. I'd pay for the 1 hour of labor instead of the 2, and then Hanlees is like, "Nope. You have to pay full price. We don't control the prices." LOL! Insult my wife, lie to me, and then try to claim you can't give a discount. Hanlees is full of fools. Then I go pick up the car and learn that they can't return the part and are stuck with this random $300 roof rack. They then tried to strong-arm me again, but I wasn't about to go there. Brought my car in for the 60k service at around 7:30am, 2/26/16 and was greeted by Noel. After getting the workorder paperwork set up, I requested that my tires were to be left alone and not rotated. I was then walked over to the cashiers desk to be set up with a rental. An almost brand new vehicle, not bad. After that is done, I quickly reminded Noel that I did not want my tires rotated and he said, "forsure". I returned at 3:30 P.M to pick up my car. Noel went through the work order saying how everything went on the multi-point inspectiom sheet and that they rotated my tires. I asked him why the tires were rotated even though I requested that they were not. He frantically checked through the paperwork and noticed that he did not clearly write down my request and instead came up with the excuse that the technican saw what was best and did it to their judgment. Complete bogus. I am following the manufactures and America's Tire recommended rotation mielage. Anyways, after signing all of the paperwork, I walked out to my car and saw that it was washed and vacuum, not an excellent job, but passable. I drove off. Later that night, I got into my car and to my surprise, my right HIDs quit working. It has worked just the night before and all of the sudden will not turn on. I tried turning it off and on again, but no luck. I did not appreciate driving with one headlight and I am not sure what they did, but I highly recommend not taking your vehicle(s) to their service department. It is like they do not care. What else did they "forget" to do, deemed "safe" to do or accidently done tomy vehicle. Or maybe it is too early? Or maybe I look gullible and unimportant? read more

Well, where do I start? Upon inspection of the car, we noticed numerous chips and cracks in the windshield. Question, why wasn't this fixed before putting it on the lot? They agreed to replace the windshield. It took 3 tries to get the correct windshield. I found one in 10 minutes. No detail done because the windshield was removed before they had or checked to see if it was the correct one. Then immediately after picking it up, I noticed a buzzing/growling noise. Took a dozen plus calls and emails to get thru to someone, did not get called back for several days. Then was told tough sh't! No warranty. But we had one and then they said wheel bearings aren't covered. Replaced it myself. The car wasn't safe to drive. I will never buy another car from this dealership family. NEVER HANLEES -- TERRIBLE PLACE, INCOMPETENT-SAFETY, BAIT AND SWITCH, NICKEL AND DIME... If Hanlees Nissan was a hotel, it would be a one star hotel that pretends it is a five star hotel... So do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. There are many other Nissan dealerships within 10 minute drive such as Nissan of Vacaville. So I took my car for an oil-change at a place in Woodland and was told that the car needs new brakes and that they charge $250 PER AXLE for both pads and rotors. So I made the mistake and called the Hanless Nissan dealership for a quote and was told by Chris that it is $350 per axle for both pads and rotors. So I figured it will be worth it to pay a little extra and to have the brakes done by the dealer, especially since both Hanlees and Nissan bombard me with coupons by emails, and I figured it will be worth it... It wasn't. While speaking to Chris, I inquired about a tune-up and other services and he suggested a free comprehensive "Multi Point Vehicle Inspection" (which they didn't preform properly and competently with major safety violation, see more below), and I agreed. So I left the car with Chris and received a receipt (see photo) indicating 1-brake inspection 2-multi point inspection 3-customer renting vehicle. The rental/loaner I got was a Nissan Kicks with only 100 miles on it. The car was FILTHY both inside and out. On the outside there was a very thick layer of dust and the inside had papers and stickers thrown in the backseat. Worst of all, the car had a very strong smell of women's perfume and the steering wheel (as well as doors, keys, etc) were very greasy from women hand cream which got all over me...(Later, when I returned the car, I was charged additional $90 for some dog hair found on the backseat- a charge which was justified and I didn't object. However, the cashier couldn't care less that I got a filthy car to begin with....) Later that day, "Zak" the service manager called to tell that only the rear axle needs brakes and that it would be about $600 (and not the $350 they quoted over the phone). When I asked why the price difference he gave me some cockamamie excuse He also stated that to change the brake fluid it would be additional $200. So having no choice since I didn't want to spend any more time going to a different mechanic at a different day, I authorized the work. As to the "Multi Vehicle Inspection" -- complete BS since I suspect that they didn't perform one on the day I dropped the car. Otherwise, they would have EASILY discovered that the AIR-BAG LIGHT is on from a previous bad repair/recall at Hanlees Nissan. Also, I expected them to use the electronic/computerized diagnostic tool which lets the mechanic see exactly what's going on with the engine. So according to Zak all they did was a visual inspection, and even then they missed the air-bag light was was on.... (So Zak, please don't reply with another cockamamie excuse...) So altogether the total was $893 ($808 for the brakes - which I could have done elsewhere for $250 and was quoted the price - for purposes of bait and switch - of $350, and another $90 for the few dogs hair found on the back seat which I believe was a justified charge). Lastly, for some odd reason the cashier refused to honor the electronic coupons I had since she claimed there is a sign in the front (which I didn't see) that states that coupons must be presented before the work begins.... BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS AT THIS LOCATION. The finance manager, RAJ SINGH, is extremely condescending and will absolutely take advantage of you. He is unpleasant, dishonest, and will not follow through on his word. RAJ SINGH charged me $3,395 for warranty on a pre-owned vehicle. $700 for window tint and $795 for back-up sensors. We recommend you go elsewhere. They charged us $175 to tell us they could not get the CD, that has been stuck in the player, out. When we asked them to reduce the price (not take it off) they were very unprofessional in their communication style of telling us no. We will be taking our truck to Prestige or Precision (both have excellent service and customer service) from now on. read more
