Tom was absolutely amazing and so helpful! My regulator on my driver side window broke and he was able to fix it for me the next day. He was super accommodating and provided clear and consistent communication, and the price was so incredibly fair. I had the same issue happen with my window about five years ago and I got it repaired from a dealership. Not only was it four times the price, but they installed it incorrectly and that's why it broke again. Thanks to Tom, my window is working better than ever! I highly recommend using Davis Mobile Mechanic Service for whatever you need! read more

Absolute A+ professional, Tom is a great guy and superb mechanic. Affordable and fair pricing, transparent communication, and quick work can all be expected when working with Tom. He diagnosed and repaired rodent damage in both mine and my partner's cars and did a thorough test to make sure both cars were right as rain. He saved us a ton of money compared to going to the dealership. We will be checking with Tom before any others for all future car problems! read more

Tom gave us excellent service at a great price. He came out in February to replace our car battery. When we had an issue with it recently, he came back right away and took care of it for us. Really appreciate the follow through. read more

No answer by phone when we called and we question whether still in business. Was not able to use service.

Overall an excellent experience. Tom was quick to reply and schedule a time to meet with us. His assessment was thorough and communicated during the inspection. He sent pictures of the work he was doing and worked clean and efficiently. Will definitely reach out to him again if needed. read more

Tom was really nice and responsive! Thank you so much for helping me as soon as possible! Saved me the trouble of getting a tow when my battery gave out. read more

Super friendly service and was available even after the workday was over. Definitely recommend!

Tom and Beverley aren't just the best kind of service providers, they are the best kind of people. I called and left a message well after business hours on a Friday night, and surprisingly not only got a call back, but was able to arrange for Tom to come out the next day on a Saturday. Not only did he communicate perfectly throughout the experience as far as timing, scheduling and meeting at my parked vehicle, he came prepared, executed the repair with precision at a FRACTION of my other quoted prices, but he and Beverley were charming, polite, respectful and just a pleasure to be around. Wish I could give them 10 stars! read more

My car wouldn't start and I was stranded, I called Tom and he came out same-day and quickly diagnosed the problem. Tom's very knowledgeable and down-to-earth. He even offered a jumpstart free of charge the next day if I needed it, thankfully I was able to start it the next day before heading home. Very reasonably priced as well, quick fix. Tom's phone number is now saved in my contacts. Thanks! read more

Last night, we drove to Cache Creek and noticed our battery light flashing red--definitely not a good sign. Thankfully, we made it to the casino safely. We immediately called AAA, expecting to get a tow back to Elk Grove since we pay for premium service. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. AAA refused to send a tow truck and essentially left us stranded. After the initial shock and frustration wore off, we moved to Plan B: Yelp reviews. That's when we found Davis Mobile Mechanic. Tom answered right away and was out to Cache Creek within the hour. He diagnosed the issue immediately--just as we suspected, the alternator had failed. He removed the broken alternator, picked up a replacement from O'Reilly, and had everything installed in a reasonable amount of time. Tom is a genuinely kind, honest person doing what feels like godly work--helping stranded people get back on the road. His pricing was fair and his labor was very reasonable. Most importantly, thanks to him, we made it home safely. If you ever need help out in that area, I highly recommend Tom at Davis Mobile Mechanic. Thank you again, Tom! read more

Excellent! Tom is terrific a pleasure to work with. he is my go to when things go wrong.

Pulled into work this morning in Woodland, CA. Immediately heard a hissing noise as I got out of my car. Went to the back rear tire and sure enough there was a chunk of metal protruding from the tread with air gushing out. I was already 5 minutes late for my morning meeting, it was pouring down rain and I had a full day of work. Got back to my desk an in between meetings Yelp'd "Mobile Tire Repair". Davis Mobile Mechanic Service came up. Only a few reviews but they were almost all very positive. I gave Tom a call, he was super friendly and made it to Woodland in less than 30 minutes. He had my tire removed and was off to get it repaired very fast. He made it back before my lunch was over and had the tire placed back on the vehicle and repaired right at my work. Very reasonable pricing, was super-fast and was just an all-around nice guy. Would highly recommend. read more

Tom is truly a kind, generous and straight-shooting mechanic who knows cars. One day he heard a noise under the hood of my 1999 Ford Escort with 300k+ miles and knew immediately it was my tensioner. Another day he went out of his way to pick up a part at the local O'Reilly's and then went back and exchanged it when they gave him the wrong part. His rate is more than reasonable and he'll work with you on an arrival time. If he doesn't do the work you need, he'll point you to a good local mechanic. Don't expect a super chatty exchange or exuberant personality; what you can expect is an honest assessment and recommendation at a great price (he doesn't mark up parts 50-200% like many shops). Oh, and a little kindness thrown in for good measure. read more

Tom is an amazing guy who came to see me as soon as possible. My car hadn't been starting and since I'm not from the area I had to go on yelp. I called every mechanic, hoping I wouldn't need to have my car towed. Luckily after calling everyone Tom had called me back and told me he'd come out to see what he could do. He finally told me I need a key ignition replacement and knew just the guy to fix it. Might I add this guy had an amazing price. Tom is very honest and knowledgeable. I recommend him to anyone not from the area or someone who's not so knowledgeable about cars. Thank you Tom!! read more

Tom was awesome to help me feel confident buying a new car. I live in Oakland and went to Davis to buy the car. Saw Tom on Yelp and the good reviews and called on a Saturday. He agreed to meet me at the dealer if I liked the car. True to his word he was there in 10 minutes and did a thorough mechanical check. Super reasonable price and what a pleasant and kind person to deal with. Highly recommend Tom. He was also able to confirm a positive reputation of the dealer where the car was. Happy now with my new car!! read more

I called Tom when my car wouldn't start and he came out and narrowed down the possibilities to just a couple, and let me know of all of the possible problems he'd eliminated and what he'd found. The repair needed was going to take him longer than he wanted so he referred me to a few repair shops. And since he "couldn't get me up and running", he insisted on not charging me! He even offered to talk to the repair shop if anything went wrong and advocate on my behalf. What an upstanding guy. I gave him a healthy tip for his time and expertise, and would call him again in a heartbeat. read more

I came home on Friday to a flat tire. Called Tom and he let us know he was available Sunday morning. He came out to our house, on time, super friendly, got down to business and had plugged the hole in my tire and left within 2 hours. Easiest flat tire fix I've ever had. I can't thank Tom enough!! VERY reasonably priced, as well. Thank you, Tom!! read more

Our band was on tour from Oregon and pulled into our gig in Davis and the van promptly refused to start again. It was a Sunday afternoon, we were ready to throw up our hands and accept that we live in Davis now when we discovered Tom and this mobile mechanic service. I was passing through Davis when my car window wouldn't roll back up and called Tom. He was able to set up a time same day for him to inspect. He did a great job at assessing the issue and tried to roll the window back up for me manually. Upon further inspection, he let me know that it would realistically be a multiple hour job at a mechanic and gave suggestions for next steps. Really appreciated his time and his nice demeanor. read more

The short: Tom was communicative, responsive, thorough, attentive, and clearly cared about my satisfaction as a customer. My car had an issue with the clutch switch, which Tom fixed. Highly recommended. The long: I was in Davis to study for the bar exam. I knew nothing about the area and no one in it. All I did was go from my subleased apartment to the library for 12ish hours a day and to the grocery when I could - that's it. Then my car died. Rather than have it towed and lose time from studying by lifting/ubering to and from the mechanic, I looked up a mobile mechanic to diagnose, and if possible, fix the car on the spot. It was in the parking garage at the law library. Tom did everything I could have wanted or needed him to do, including: driving to and from different locations to get the best prices on parts I needed, follow-up with me when the original work did not fix the issue, work on a Sunday and late at night, and do the second round of work without charge (which I felt was fair since the first round did not actually address the issue - and the second round did). All in all, he was very helpful and made a stressful situation a lot less difficult. He seemed like a genuine and fair dude who really cared about customer satisfaction and doing a good job. Thanks sooooo much, Tom. Highly appreciated. read more

Car broke down Friday evening in traffic. I was driving down the highway when my steering went out. I thought it was the power steering system. I pulled into a gas station and came to find a broken serpentine belt. I called Tom and he was there in 20 minutes. He identified a wobbly idler pulley as the likely cause of this wear. The parts needed were not carried at either of the stores in Davis but they were able to order them. In the morning, Tom returned to save the day and get us back rolling again. read more

Thank god for Tom! Whether you need a mobile mechanic, or just a mechanic at all, I highly recommend Tom for any car issue you're having. My baby car stopped starting all of a sudden and I was trapped with my car in the street. I could either call and get it towed to a auto shop or find someone to come to me. I searched through Yelp and found that Tom had wonderful reviews, and decided to give him a call. He answered my message within minutes and told me he could come by later that evening. He stopped by my house around 6 pm and diagnosed the issue within 20 or so minutes. Tom explained to me what exactly what he thought was wrong with my starter and called O'Reillys for me in order to check for availability of a replacement. The diagnostic was $75 and the work to put in a new starter was an extra $75 on top of that- what an amazing deal! He told me about the benefits/drawbacks of remanufactured vs new parts, how to get the part, and reminded me to bring my old starter back in to get some money back. The next day, he was around to fix my car and finished the job in about an hour. My car finally starts reliably (thank god) and I found my go to person for anything car related in the future. I highly recommend Tom for anything you need in the future! read more

Give this man a medal! In an age when "established" car shops can't seem to get you out the door for less than a thousand dollars, Tom is a throwback to an earlier time! He is honest and hardworking, eminently reasonable in price, and in no hurry to dispose of your problem and move on to the next opportunity. It is so good to see a mechanic focused on craft. I asked him to come fix an electric window in a cranky old Land Rover Discovery 2, which is not worth spending much on. He took his time - figured out the problem - helped me order a part - and all of it will probably be done on a very reasonable budget when he is finished. I can think of about ten other things I'd like him to do. He's like Lindbergh's lucky mechanic - the go-to guy you can trust! Thanks, Tom - read more

My son is away from home attending UC Davis and his car would not start. Before having the car towed to an Auto Shop, I found Davis Mobile Mechanic on the internet and asked my son to give them a call. A few minutes later my son called me back and said that Tom was nearby and would stop by and check out the problem. The car needed a new starter, my son bought the part and Tom installed it later that day. The car started right up. By the way, all of this happened on a Sunday afternoon. Thank You Tom, we really appreciate all of your help on such short notice. Sincerely, Craig R. read more

My daughter attends UC Davis and her car wouldn't start. We live in SoCal so she didn't have any familiar options to get help. After a brief conversation with Thomas, it was comforting to know that he would be diagnosing and fixing the problem. He also suggested replacing a worn part which was greatly appreciated since she was scheduled to make two long road trips. It's difficult when you can't be there with your student to advise but my daughter was comfortable communicating with Thomas and the cost was reasonable. read more

Definitely recommend Tom! I thought I was going to have to hobble my car one battery jump at a time to a mechanic 2 days before Christmas to hopefully have it done in time to drive the next day to see family. Tom was able to come to my apartment complex, figure out what was needed, and even made multiple trips to O'Rileys for supplies because my car needed some special equipment. I just needed to supply the alternator and he supplied the work for a very reasonable rate. read more

I had bought a car battery from Napa with some confidence that I could replace it myself. Once I started reading and watching YouTube videos on how to do it, I realized that I was sorely mistaken.
