About three years ago, I had my transmission replaced here on my 2014 Chevy Silverado, and the transmission cooler was replaced as part of that work. Recently, while diagnosing an A/C refrigerant leak, I removed the front grille and discovered that the bottom of the transmission cooler had never been properly secured. The lower mounting points were left unsupported, which allowed the cooler to move backward and make contact with the A/C condenser. Over time, that contact damaged the condenser and eventually rubbed/dented through it, causing the refrigerant leak I was trying to diagnose. I have pictures clearly showing the unsupported lower mounts as well as the damage and leak directly behind the transmission cooler. I understand that the repair was done three years ago, and I wasn't expecting anyone to blindly warranty an old repair. I had already purchased a new condenser myself. What I wanted was some accountability and help making the situation right, especially considering that the damage resulted from a component they installed not being properly secured. Mistakes happen. I understand that completely. What determines my opinion of a business is how they handle a mistake once it is brought to their attention. If I made a mistake in my own work that caused someone additional damage, I would acknowledge it and do what I reasonably could to make it right. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. The refusal to take any responsibility for the missing lower support/mounting of the transmission cooler is why I'm leaving a one-star review.

Affordable at first thought it was still an exhaust leak, but their attempt to fix it that way wasn't the cure. The second try was the charm as they found a bolt near the rear transmission mount that was too close to the tranny. It's all good now and I'm no longer embarrassed to stop at an intersection and have to listen to any noises that shouldn't be there.

Traveling north on I-505, just a few miles south of the junction with I-5, my wife's car broke down (steam was pouring thru the hood). We called AAA road service and within a reasonable period of time, we were attended to by a tow truck driver. He recommended that we have the vehicle towed to Precision Auto Care in Woodland (about 15-20 miles away). Not sure how the tow truck got there so quickly, but by the time we arrived, the car was already there and mechanics were beginning to evaluate the problem. We were greeted by a Service Advisor, Lorena Torres, who quickly gave us a best case/worst case scenario of the problem. She said they would have a better diagnostic analysis within the hour. We returned to the news that the worst case scenario had occurred. A cracked radiator led to damage to the cylinder head resulting in a partial rebuild of the engine. Long story short, it would take a week to 10 days to fully repair. We continued our trip to Oregon in one car then flew back to the Bay Area to await the completion of the repair. Throughout the 10 day repair, with periodic calls to Precision, were were kept fully aware of the progress of the repair by Lorena. And, as promised, it was completed in the quoted time and within the quoted price. Once the car was back in our possession and we were driving it regularly, the car functioned perfectly. We were delighted to realize that, with the new radiator, the heater worked better than before too. Something else, too, that no other auto repair shop has ever done for us...About a month after getting the car back, we received a call from Precision to inquire if everything was OK with the repair. We'll soon be living about 500 miles from Precision, so the chance that we'll ever use them again is pretty slim. Yet, they took the time to follow-up to determine our satisfaction. That is pretty rare in today's world. This last week, we attempted the trip to Oregon in this vehicle a second time. I am happy to report that it performed flawlessly. No one looks forward to a multi-thousand dollar car repair, but we justify it as being better than having months of new or used car payments, as we pride ourselves on taking really good care of our older automobiles. Thanks to businesses like Precision Auto Care for performing such a high standard of repair that we can continue to justify our preferred method of transportation.

As a former Ford Dealership mechanic and race shop owner/builder, I rarely have work done by others…read moreand am particular when I do choose a shop, because the only reason I am bringing my auto into a shop is I don't have time to do it myself, due to my own volume of work and don't want to have to bring it back or do it myself. Tony and I spoke on the phone and he gave me a reasonable estimate and choice to use factory parts for my hub bearing on my 2003 Ford 7.3 Powerstroke diesel 4x4 and gave me a quick availability appointment. I had a number of referrals that spoke highly of his service and several were from other shops and ASE mechanics. Ironically, the one other time I had taken this truck was for it to get a pre-purchase assessment as diesels are not my specialty, so I took the truck to Red Label based on good referrals, but they missed that the brakes were almost metal to metal and the hub bearings on the way out at 154k miles, which later the medium bearing howl became a loud howl in just a few miles down the road. Those referrals to Red Label were accurate based on past experience when the owner and his core crew did the work but that has obviously changed the quality of service done in my experience and confirmed that with others who used to go there. Tony did the job on time, did better than the estimate and showed me the old hub so that I could see how the seal on the back side had dried out and let dirt and water foul the bearing and grease despite me lining it right after buying the truck, so it was a long time ago this issue started and is known to occur around 140-200k miles on this big, heavy work beasts. Unfortunately, due to the limited availability of Ford parts, Tony was only able to replace the driver side as none was available for the passenger side, in the Bay Area at that time. As I told Tony my chassis ears electronic sensors had just recently sided and I was awaiting new ones, so requested he do a diagnostic to pinpoint exactly where the bearing howl I could hear in the truck can was coming from, as chassis sounds bounce around and can sound like it coming from the left but is actually from the right. He confirms both front Bearing hubs were howling and the rear differential was howling also, (which I had hoped was just a pinion bearing and not the ring and pinion gears as that is $350 vs $3500). For the differential inspection (cover removal and back play measurement) Tony referred me to Jaws Gears in Sacramento, knowing so did not have the time or shop space to do it myself. That referral was spot on and also saved me from driving the truck any longer and taking a chance on a catastrophic on road failure that would have been much more expensive and a hassle! I spoke to the other mechanic about my Banks Monster package and Sinister aftermarket upgrades and found him very knowledgeable. I will be coming back as the mechanical knowledge of these trucks at this shop is well established, the price and accommodation of schedule are all excellent and I also am proud to support a independent and Veteran owned business!

I'd been dealing with shops who were trying to run up the bills and didn't care for their attitudes. My very first impression in dealing with Eddie, at this point I know was nothing short of heaven sent. I absolutely needed my truck to be fixed and up and running so that I could get to my very ill father. I set a budget and explained to him the situation. While I will keep our very near and dear conversation private, I will merely say this. The conversation we had made such a lasting and genuine impression on me that even to now, I cannot put into words. I dropped my truck off the very next day, gave him all the parts I had, and let him and his crew get to work. Eddie not only kept me updated on things he also was able to diagnose that the new gearbox I ordered was faulty, sent pictures and said he'd stand behind me if the company gave me any grief over it. In the meantime, he would order me a different one and just throw it in there so I could get going with no downtime. We finalized the bill; he sent it over and after putting the front end back together my power steering pump and hydro booster began leaking. You know what he did? He ate the cost and labor on those parts because he honored what his cost was when he sent the original bill. Think about that for a minute. The man ate the entire cost of two parts because he didn't want to change his quote due to no fault of his own. Ever heard of a mechanic doing that? I haven't, but it gets better. Grab the truck. Oops The alignment shop forgot to lock the steering wheel out when they aligned it and we were getting ready to head over and have them fix it. I noticed my AC was still blowing warm when it intermittently decides to go cold then hot. They'd already done an evac and recharge on it and it apparently decided it wasn't happy with it. Julian and Eddie start trying to trace and track for leaks with dye and didn't see any. Figured okay blend door actuator. The AC compressor on the spot grenaded itself on the spot Freon everywhere like we hit the G-spot singing Alice and Chains Nutshell on it's way out. All three of us stand there laughing saying wtf. So, I stand there thinking shit, gonna take a bit to get a compressor. Not 10 minutes later, here comes Orielly's with a brand new one, and Julian slaps ol girl in there with ease, recharged, and good to go. Colder than a witches tit in a brass bra now. By now, the alignment shop is closed so he asks me to swing back by Tuesday, no sweat. On my way I go. I get about 30 minutes down the road, felt a shudder, battery light pops and no power steering, "shit there goes the new belt". Yep, pulley on the new pump slipped and went for a walk like a blindman with no cane. The pulley is my fault, I tried to cut corners, and they put the original back on. Mind you at this time, Eddies shop is closed and he made his way to a family function. I sent a text just to let him know what was going on, not expecting anything. He immediately responds saying Julian on his way, sit tight. Julian, lemme tell you. This kid is as solid as they come. Just a solid person. Don't let his age fool you, kid knows his shit but stays humble. He made a call to Eddie told him what he needed and motion is set. Keep in mind Eddie is at a family function and ready to have a relaxing weekend. Julian starts parts to make room. An hour later, Eddie not only left his family function, he drove two hours roundtrip to get the pulley I needed from the only Orielly around who had it. He shows up, and they get it put back together. Know what they charged me for their time, roadside and Pulley? Nothing. This shop and the people who work here are some of the best human beings I've met. I'd trust them with a newborn baby with a soft spot on its head. If you read otherwise, those are just assholes looking for the world to do them a favor while being assholes. They usually drive Corvettes. Customer for life. Btw, we all agree my truck is cursed, so if you're in the market for a 2004.5 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a new front end, and pulleys, holla at ya boy.
