On February 20, 2025. I bought a 2018 Land Rover Discovery from City Auto Center in Davis, Ca 95616. The ower Sam was so nice and polite, instructing me how to get a check from my credit union, and pay it off. Women, don't listen to any of those guys at City Auto Centers. Liars and liars and more liars. The alternator went out on the Land Rover on March 16, 2025. Not even 30 days after I purchased the vehicle. To be exact 25 day later. Sam and demons want you to buy a warranty on the vehicle. Why? Help me understand why would I give them almost 17000, and then purchase another insurance warranty for $4000. Well, ladies, the vehicle are no good and they know it. Most dealerships target women because of our willingness to trust what the sale men tell us and the lack of knowledge about cars. My brother and I came to this dealer to check out a 2017 VW Tiguan. We drove from the bay area all the way to Davis based on this dealers' words. We had spoken with Ramsey and he met us there. We had spoken multiple times prior and he assured us that the car was in perfect shape. As a professional dealer, we took his word on this. Over the phone, he told us that the car was in pristine condition and that the car had never been in any accidents. Not only did he say this, he also stated that the car was in 'like new' condition. Here is the issue: The car was in a terrible state. We ran the carfax and there were a couple accidents on there. The vehicle looks like it was chopped. The body work on the car was repaired cheaply. The paint on the fenders didn't match the hood. The quality of the paint was terrible. Not only this, but the engine wasn't running properly. We checked the oil, and it was less than the low. As the car idled we noticed that it was spitting oil and water out of the exhaust! We couldn't believe that we had been deceived by this person. Thank goodness we didn't buy this thing. Now I know why they were pushing for us to purchase an extended warranty on the car. I think they knew there was a problem with the car. We since went back and got the extended warranty to have the repairs done that it needed. We were asked to not take it in for repairs for a month. We have since taken it into the shop to be repaired and found out that the car was not the model we were told it was. We paid for a higher model then the car really is. First off, I hate buying cars. I can't stand dealerships and I can't stand car salesman. When I saw an ad for a Kia Soul, it just happened to be the car I was looking for. I called and arranged to look at the car, in Davis, at their show room. I am an engineer and extremely skeptical by nature. When I saw the car was significantly below the Kelley Blue Book value my spidey sense was going off. Yet I looked the car over very carefully and everything looked great, except for a chip in the windshield. I asked if I could test drive it and was given the keys. I was dealing with Nadia at this time and she just smiled and said, "have fun!". This was a new experience because I'd never had a car dealership just hand me the keys and let me test drive the car by myself. This was a first indication that this may not be the typical used car salesman nonsense. I took the car for a drive and it drove perfectly, sounded great and had no issues. When I got back to the dealership I was introduced to Sam and we began discussing the sale of the car. What was really surprising to me was that at no time did Nadia, nor Sam, ever actually tried to SELL me the car! I asked if we cou ok could look at the Carfax online, together, and we did. No issues. Tgen Sam recommended we look at another site that records car data. Both sites had essentially the same info - records of routine mx and other DMV records. Afterwards I thought, Sam didnt need to offer to look at the other site. What if it had something negative? It could have cost them the sale. I got the feeling he just wanted to do everything he could to make me feel comfortable buying this car. And he did. There was no promoting of the vehicle, there was no trying to tell me how great it was, there was no trying to tell me how great the deal was. Nothing. They listened to the concerns I had and answered them honestly and openly. I basically had to tell THEM - yes I would like to buy the car at the price you have it offered. Sam said OK and immediately set about doing all the paperwork right then and there. There was no being sent into the business manager's office and where they try to up-sell you warranties and all sorts of added junk you don't really need. When it came to the issue of the crack windshield Sam said, "I can't get a quote right now because its Sunday, but how about we add $150 on to the cost of the car and I'll get the windshield replaced for you? Now I know you can't buy a windshield and a have it installed for $150, so I know he was giving me a deal on the windshield as well. We had the entire paperwork done in about 20 minutes. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it never happened. At the end I jokingly told Sam, "you need to learn how to be a car salesman Sam cause you've made this way too easy on me!" I mean, that's the way I felt. There was no salesman nonsense and no pressure. I just went in there and bought a car and walked out happy about an hour later. Nadia and Sam were just a pleasure to deal with. They are nothing like your typical car sales people. I never, ever, thought I would say this - but they actually made the process of buying a car enjoyable. read more

I have been driving for more than 14 years, and I have bought and sold some cars so far. So I have a little experience about used cars. However, I moved to the U.S. recently and hadn't had a car here. I looked for a used car with good price and reliable condition. I search through different sources and find many different dealers, private sellers, and wholesales. They sell the cars with high price or hesitate to provide enough information or I couldn't trust them based on my instincts. Eventually, I found auto city center on Google and started to look at their inventory. I found so many good cars, with fair price. I look up the kbb for comparing the prices and found their price really fair. Besides, they provide Carfax report freely on their website which was a good sign of honesty. So the only thing that I had to do was to go and check their cars in person. I met Mike there. He kindly talked about their cars even told me which brands are better which are not although they have both of them there. So I became more confident that they are not looking for just selling and try to behave trustworthy. On the other day I went there and met Ramsey and Sam they were both friendly and cool guys. I did a test drive on some of their cars. They also allowed me to take the car to my mechanic for inspection. So after I chose the Ford Fusion Titanium before finalizing it I took it to a local mechanic. He inspected the car and as Auto City Center guys told me the mechanic certified that the car is in good condition and even the oil and filters are still in half of their age and the car needed no service. So I bought it. They behave so kindly and informative. I definitely recommend them. I bought the car two days ago and I love it. Notably, recommend this place to UCD student. I, as a student, am aware of the limitations and occupations of students in terms of time and budget and these guys will understand and help you. They didn't force me to buy their cars in any of the many times that I went to their place. If you check their inventory they bring cars that have a good condition with a decent price. If you find a car somewhere else, make sure to check Auto City Center price for the same car if they have one in their inventory. Based on my search and experience they offer you the same brand and model with much lower price with probably slightly more mileage but still good shape and let you save thousands of dollars. If you see this comment without any update make sure that I have been totally satisfied with my car so far. Thanks, Mike, Sam, and Ramsey. In the end, I want to mention that always be aware that you are buying a used car and no one is a fortune teller to be able to accurately predict what is going to happen to the car in future.
