My 2017 Chevy Malibu had a strange leak in the trunk, where gallons of water would collect in the tire well after heavy rains. I noticed mold forming in my trunk and the entire car smelled musty after this would happen. It was a manufacturer defect and GM had issued a no cost service adjustment several years ago. However, when I brought the car into Hanlees in January 2023, I missed the service adjustment window by just a few days. German and Jennifer advocated on my behalf to GM and got them to perform the fix for free despite the fact that the original recall had expired. Fixing the leaking required them to bring in an outside specialist and unexpected labor, but I paid zero dollars out of pocket. They saved me hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in repair costs. I'm very grateful for German and the entire team for troubleshooting the issue and finding a solution at no cost to me. read more

A+ service at Hanlees Davis Chevrolet service dept, I spoke with German Franco over the phone and asked to make an appt for a later date because of recently having COVID, but they were more than accommodating during this stressful time and I was able to drop off the truck for a Mis-shift on my 2019 Silverado that the original dealer wasn't able to find a problem with. He guaranteed they would take the time and try to replicate the problem in which they were successful and is now working like a new truck again. Saved me from the possibly having to trade in the truck. Amazing group! Any future GM vehicles will be purchased here. read more

I bought a 2013 Chevy Camaro v6 from Hanlees Davis Chevrolet last summer and it was the worst decision I could've made. It was a used car with 75,000 miles in it and they told me that nothing was wrong with it so I bought it trusting them, then literally a month after I bought it I got into a huge accident where I literally was so close to dying but thankyou to god I made it out alive, after my accident they examined my car and told me that the cause of the accident were because my brakes were at 1%. The service department is 100% clown shoes lead by Bozo himself German. A check engine light went on, being that I don't travel with my OBD reader and it went on right by a Chevy dealer I pulled in to find the problem. German, the incompetent "manager" he is, was overwhelmed with all 3 customers in line at 8 AM and was turbo flustered. After listening to him argue with an employee about rotors not looking the same when comparing it to stock photos and the other employee repeatedly telling him that "its stock photos, not actual Camaro rotos" it was my turn to get lied/up sold. I asked him to get somebody to check the code and then the lies started. He said it will be a $200 charge (fine I get it), and it would take 2-3 hours to read the code, then it got bad. I questioned why it would take 2+ hours to read a code and he said "its not that easy to read the OBD codes (what a lie), and to take that long is insane! The check engine light was on so I felt I had to keep it there. I ordered a Lyft and the truck was in the shop even before the Lyft driver picked me up. Fast forward to 4:30 PM I get the call that the diagnostics was complete and there was 1 injector plugged up and they wanted to replace all 8 for the low price of over $2000! I told him that I will be there to pick it up and I'm not paying $2k for injectors then ordered a Lyft. While waiting for my ride, I called a different Chevy dealer in Elk Grove and they said they can do the same for less than half the quote of the afore mentioned clown show. When I arrived at the circus German looked at me as if he had no clue I was coming to get my car, even after I told him I was less than 30 mins ago. When he was closing out my ticket, I asked him if he read any google or yelp reviews about the place and he said no. When I said he should because they talk about him, by name, he said "ohh well, that's their opinion". I also informed him that people read the reviews and if they don't go there he won't have a job. He blew me off, lied to me about my car being taken apart due to the diagnostic, extremely unprofessional and I left. Long story longer, DON'T GO TO HANLEES CHEVY! They suck read more

Great customer service, I wasn't too sure about what I wanted and if u was going to get a car that day, but I didn't feel pressured into making a deal right then and there and with a car dealership that can be the biggest thing that turns you away. After getting the used car they detailed it and accidentally put on 4 brand new tires! They said their mistake was my reward and gave them to me rather than make sure they were off and never telling me. Hanlees Service had my 2021 Z71 for over a month, needed a new engine after 20k, no offer of a loaner, no help with rental costs, dealership never called me to update me or even tell me that they were replacing the engine. I had to call week after week, where I was met with unprofessional customer service. It's not their fault that the engine had the problem, but they represent the manufacturer and clearly they aren't putting the customer needs first. When I was picking up the vehicle I asked the service manager to call GM with me to raise my concerns about my rental car bills he indicated he didn't have the time. To add insult to injury, the car was parked outside and was covered with a thick layer of dust when I picked it up, I asked about a car wash and they informed me that it wasn't something they offer. Dropped off the truck for oil service at 7:30 am. Came back at 3:30pm they said it's not ready yet, it's just a simple oil change. So I asked to be dropped back at location that was 10 mins away , they said they don't drive out that far and it's only local. And declined to dropped be back off , so I ended up requesting a Uber and paying extra to get back to the location I Uber from. The shuttle driver was lazy to drive out simple 10 mins. read more

It was not disclosed to me that my vehicle did not come with a remote key, until after I signed all of my papers and was ready to drive off the lot. When I asked my salesperson about it, I was advised Hanlees didn't have a remote key and I would have to contact the service dept. I contacted the service dept. and they want $257.00 to program a remote key. I asked the service dept for the FCCID so I can have someone local do it for me, and Hanlees still wants to charge me $160.00 just for the code. I won't go into the rude customer service I've received when I do call them. I will never go back nor recommend Hanlees to anyone for a vehicle purchase. I'm feeling straight bamboozled!! read more

New in the Davis area. This Chevrolet is tripled the price for every service than the last Chevrolet dealership charged me in Central Valley. Oil change cost me $90. Changing the head light cost me $200, the last dealership charged me only $40 for a new headlight and installation. Such a rip off. Awful customer service! To begin with, I spoke with Jessica on Monday to request information & pricing for a 100,000 mile service. She said she would email me the information right away. Wednesday I still did not receive an email, so I called again, and spoke with Jessica again. She said she forgot to send it Monday, but would send it right away. About an hour later I got the email with service details, for the wrong vehicle!! Either that or they were trying to make $$ off of people's ignorance. There were services listed (total of 1700$) that my vehicle doesn't even have that part, it's a 2wd truck and they listed transfer case service, front differential service and other services associated with 4wd vehicles. I decided to take my business elsewhere for most of those services, but to still book an oil change and tire rotation. I booked the appointment on their website the following Monday, for service that Thursday. I received an automated email confirmation from GM, as well an email from the service manager, Christina Mendes. At this point I thought all was good. I then called on Wednesday afternoon to confirm my appointment, and the lady I spoke with couldn't find me in the system and told me I didn't have an appointment. She then explained that Christina "doesn't look at the schedule" and that those confirmation emails were just confirming that I requested an appointment, not confirming the appointment itself. What? I have attached those emails to see if anyone else can gather that they are not actually confirmation emails. As of now they said they will try to get me in, but no guarantees. I would say just stay away from this dealership. I came by here in person 3 days ago to check out a truck and was told it would be $34,900 plus tax/fees for the truck I was looking at, online has it listed as $34,765. Today I call Dave to get a price for out door, (taxes and fees included), and he responds back to me with $38,316 with the $2k trade in incentive. How does a $34,775 truck turn into $40,316, that means $5,551 in taxes and fees. I was told this includes a spray in bedliner. Why wasn't this disclosed prior? Why would you give a quote to a customer and be like on hey btw you have to pay extra for a sprayin bedliner. I tried calling and texting to get some more information but have not received any response. Customer service and communication is very poor. read more

I'm overall very pleased work the service and patience the staff had. Noemi was great at addressing my needs as was everyone else on the team. They washed my car too! Update 11/15/17 I wanted to extend my gratitude to Christina (manager) for exemplary customer service. She handled my concerns with care and was very helpful in working with my school schedule to get my car in ASAP and arranging for Jordan (shuttle driver) to pick up my car to take it to the dealer. Christina is always smiling and spreads her wonderful aura to her team members. Jessica (reception) was very nice and helpful in explaining the issues with my car. In the end the staff did a great job figuring out what the issue was (t-mobile device) and gave me printed information about the issue. Dave (shuttle driver) was forgiving of me being on the phone when he picked me up --I was complaining to T-mobile about the faulty device. I had a very frustrating experience with the service department. It seems that the workers don't communicate with each other well.

Service staff is pretty good. I haven't had many problems. However, they like to wash your car without your permission - when I spend thousands of dollars a year on taking care of my paint I'd prefer if they'd at least ask so they don't wash over my recently detailed car. They also tell you your car is ready when it isn't, very annoying when you are on a tight schedule. The check out person I had was very rude and hostile. To the point where I may never return to this dealership. UPDATE: Some kind soul (I didn't catch her name) called me to apologize for my experience with the hostile employee. She also told me that she would do her best to ensure they asked everyone if they wanted their cars washed. When it comes to getting my vehicle fixed it's really hard to find an exceptional mechanic who will do the job at a fair price. But after my experience with Hanlees Chevrolet it was well over what I expected, I was like "whohoo!" Rewind to a few days back when my check engine light came on. Took my car into a different dealership, they told me it was problem XYZ and it was going to cost a small fortune. As I always do I proceeded to get a second option, and that's where Hanlees Chevrolet came into play. After taking it in the mechanic, Pedro I think his name was, explained to me what was the culprit and what exactly needed to be done to correct it. The level of expertise and professionalism presented me was clear and concise, way beyond what the other guys were telling me. I originally got an email asking what I was looking for and a follow up email giving me options to buy I responded to the email asking for a time to come out. And got no reply. I called and was told that person was off so I had to wait. I emailed two more times and called again only to find the car had been sold. I have been looking for a very specific Audi and finally found my car on the Handlee's website. The car was at their Davis location, I am in the Bay Area. I took the train and they picked me up at the Davis station so I could test drive my car right away. When I bought my beautiful Audi I also purchased the Drive Forever Extended Warranty with premium wrap coverage. I am so happy I purchased this warranty. But I am more grateful for the continuous support the Handlee team provided me after my purchase. There were several significant repairs that needed to be made. The Handlee's team, from finance to service went way beyond what I thought a car dealership would do to support a used car purchase. In addition, I really appreciated that they kept me calm while working with the warranty company to ensure my repairs were made under the coverage of my contract. They stand behind what they sell. Even 6 months out and when the repairs were made by another company, they still helped me. I am extremely impressed and would definitely buy another car from them. read more

Bought the car here and that was fantastic. Easy, did most of it by email/phone and went well. The Service Department tried very hard to kill us recently (I kinda joke) so I have to come down on them for that. We were driving from Sac to Northern Idaho over the holidays. Took the car in before we left to get serviced, wanted new wiper blades but they didn't have any. Day before we left got a low right front tire reading so we went to a local place, had it checked and no problems with the front right tire. Got up into Oregon and heavy snow, terrible visibility and our windshield wiper fluid wouldn't work. Struggled through 2 days of driving in terrible winter conditions (counted 5 semis and 20 cars sliding off the roads) with barely being able to see. Stayed a week, had tire problems checked again before we left because sensor still going off - didn't find anything. Had tired checked a 3rd time in Bend after a day of driving, they found a nail in the right rear tire - turns out Hanlee's didn't reset the tire sensors last time the tires were rotated so the wrong indicator light had been going off all along. One disaster averted. Drove the last day home with again barely any visibility because the fluid wouldn't work. Took it in to Hanlees the next day, they confessed they put water in the wiper fluid instead of actual wiper fluid to save money. In other words my wiper "fluid" had been frozen the entire time even though I kept trying to refill with actual windshield wiper fluid because it was water/ice. Hard for me to support a business that puts my family's life at risk because they want to save $10. read more

I have been more then patient waiting for a returned phone call about my complaints, they obviously do not care what I have to say which I was trying to not have to put them on a social media site- But to warn others it might be the best bet to put on YELP about taking you vehicle in for service/repairs. I will have to write my 4page complaint on here I guess as it is the only way to express my concerns. I Have been trying to get in contact with the GM and owners with numerous emails and phone calls as well as voicemails. Unfortunately they do not respond and do not care about taking care of their customers nor do they care about making sure your vehicle is OK to drive especially with children in the car. They have done so much damage to my vehicle since MARCH of 2018, I should have never taken my vehicle there as I was originally warned by multiple people who have either took their vehicle in for repairs or by people who have worked there. While driving from Los Angeles to Davis, my vehicle had some front end suspension noise that was supposed to have been corrected at a dealership in Los Angeles prior to my trip. We live in American Canyon, CA. Your dealership in Davis, CA. has a 2019 Ford F-150 listed for sale. My wife and I drove up there on Saturday 03/20/2021 and test drove the truck. The manager Cheryl Krajcar said that your dealership in Richmond had certified that all systems had been checked and were working properly when they received the truck. I drove the truck and the air conditioning DOES NOT WORK. She said that I would have to pay to have the air conditioning fixed . We drove 130 miles and spent four hours to look at a truck that does not work right. I feel that we have been the victims of a bait and switch ploy or at least very sloppy work in certifying that all the systems work. This experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I feel that I can not trust this dealership at all. I also contacted the Richmond main office and was transferred to an un-monitored voice mail recording. I also sent them an email and got no response. So much for this dealership group. Take your car literally anywhere else. Had my car for weeks and did nothing with it. When it was finally fixed they told me they had to put a few miles on it. When I got it back there was over 350 more miles on it!!! By my definition that is not a few. The mechanic's phone was programmed into my Bluetooth stereo as well. This is unacceptable. I would give zero stars if that was possible. They told me it was ready and I went to pick it up and the guy there said it was not ready. No communication between departments or to me personally. After it was fixed I had to take it back again because my car still didn't work right. They charged me outrageous prices for more problems even though they should have fixed them in the first place. Jessica was prompt checking me in and set me up with our shuttle driver Hope. Hope, my shuttle driver, was pleasant to ride with, drove safely, and offered me her business card to call her back when the truck was ready. Their service was top notch. I am going to make this a two part review. The first is about the positive experience I had. First of all, I dealt with a great salesperson there, Johnny Fuqua. He was low pressure, sincere, fair and helpful. I enjoyed working with him and I trust him. If you go there, I recommend Johnny highly. I also have dealt with Mario a couple of times. He is a mechanic. He's a cool dude and an excellent communicator. So for those two, a thumbs up. Second: I bought a Mini Cooper at Hanlees. That was, in hindsight, a mistake. They were not prepared to sell or explain much about a Cooper. I got a decent price but soon after I purchased it, a warning light came on. Long story short, I got the car looked at (buyer beware!) and there were some issues. After a lot of haggling, Hanlees finally took the car to Niello and said they got it repaired. But I got NO PAPERWORK. Sure, I am sure they did take it to Niello, but what was actually fixed, I don't know. But guess what? It's been two weeks and the same warning light just came on. So they did not get the car properly fixed. Next time I will only buy a pre certified car from a dealer who has experience with those models. I am not happy with this purchase but there is nothing I can do about it now. read more
