brought my vehicle to your service department for a computer diagnostic test. After waiting approximately five hours, I noticed my vehicle had been parked far away from the designated service area, which I found unusual. After leaving your dealership and while driving on the highway, I discovered that the lower front bumper was dragging on the road. Upon inspection, it appeared that the lower bumper had been broken and then pressed back into place, apparently to conceal the damage rather than report it to me before I left. I immediately attempted to contact the dealership that same day, but I was told the service department had already closed at 5:00 p.m., despite your website indicating service hours until 8:00 p.m. Because the bumper was dragging and posed a serious safety hazard, I had no choice but to temporarily secure it using too.much internal and external glue and tape to prevent further damage and to make the vehicle safe enough to drive. When I returned to the dealership to report the damage, your staff refused to accept responsibility. Instead, they claimed that because I had used glue, the damage could not have occurred while the vehicle was in your possession. This is unfair and ignores the fact that the glue was only a temporary emergency repair made after the bumper was already damaged and dragging on the highway. There was also a remaining piece of my bumper guard strip attached to the damaged area, which further supports that the bumper had been impacted while the vehicle was under your care. The dealership took photographs but refused to review surveillance camera footage or conduct any meaningful investigation. I entrusted my vehicle to your service department in good faith, yet my concerns were dismissed without any effort to determine what actually occurred. During my visit, I explained that the loose bumper remained a safety hazard and asked for assistance. After an argument, Carlos reluctantly provided only a small piece of paper tape, which was completely inadequate and did nothing to make the vehicle safe. I am requesting that the dealership: Review all surveillance footage from the date and time my vehicle was in your possession. Conduct a proper investigation into how the damage occurred. Accept responsibility for the damage caused while the vehicle was under your care. Pay for the complete repair or replacement of the damaged bumper and any related components. I trusted your dealership with my vehicle and expected it to be returned in the same condition. Instead, I was left with a damaged vehicle, a safety hazard, and a refusal to watch the cameras and investigate what happened. I expect a prompt and fair resolution After discovering the damage, I attempted to speak directly with the office Manager. Je Unfortunately, he stated that he did not have time to speak with me and referred me to Carlos instead. Despite explaining that my vehicle had been damaged while in your care and that the loose bumper was creating a serious safety hazard, Carlos did not provide any meaningful assistance. In fact, after your staff removed the temporary glue and bumper guard tape that I had applied to keep the bumper from dragging, they were prepared to send me away with an unsafe vehicle. I repeatedly begged Carlos to provide tape so I could safely drive home. Only after a lengthy argument did he reluctantly provide a small piece of paper tape, which was completely inadequate to secure the damaged bumper and did not eliminate the safety hazard. What disappointed me most was the lack of concern shown by management. Rather than listening to my concerns, reviewing the evidence, or investigating what had happened while my vehicle was in your possession, the Service Manager simply redirected me to someone else and refused to address my complaint personally. My experience with the previous Service Manager was very different. The previous manager took the time to listen to customers, treated them with respect, and worked to resolve concerns. Unfortunately, my experience with the current management has been the opposite. Instead of taking responsibility for a serious complaint involving customer property and vehicle safety, management refused to investigate and left me without a satisfactory resolution. I hope that senior management will take this matter seriously, conduct a proper investigation, and ensure that other customers are not treated in the same manner. Advice to Other Customers Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that every customer thoroughly inspect and photograph their vehicle before leaving it for service and inspect it again immediately before driving away. Taking clear photographs before and after service can help protect customers if damage occurs while the vehicle is in the dealership's possession read more

I visited 5 dealerships and talked to many more on my car buying quest. I deal with many, many condescending salespeople who thought I didn't know how math worked or what was a fair price. BUT! My two positive experiences were with Hanlees Nissan and Hanlees Kia. After lots of research, Jason and Shak at Hanlees Kia made me a great deal all over text message and one 5 minute phone call. I did the pre approval online. I got to the dealership after work at 5:45 PM and was driving away in my new car at 7PM. That is unheard of!! They had the car washed and gassed up waiting for me when I got there, brought my kid snacks and even took me down the street to return my rental car. The paperwork was quick, the price was more than fair, I didn't feel overly pressured to buy all the extra warranties and best of all they were really nice. Buying a new car is stressful. It's so much money and the whole process is overwhelming. I brought my Kia Sportage to Hanlees Kia in Davis for a qualifying engine failure. While they did replace the engine, the experience afterward was deeply concerning. When I picked up my car, there was a loud rattling noise the moment I started it. I brought it to their attention immediately and was told their technician had not heard anything, but they agreed to take another look. I was then told it was a problem with the tensioner that would need to be replaced within a month and, between parts and labor, would cost around $1,200, though it was "safe to drive." Wanting a second opinion, I brought the car to my regular mechanic a week later. He found the tensioner was completely fine. The actual issue was loose bolts on the engine torque strut mount, left untightened by the Hanlees Kia technician after the engine replacement. Not only did this dealership misdiagnose a non-issue and try to charge me for an unnecessary repair, they also overlooked basic safety checks. I notified the service manager, Jessica, and filed a formal complaint with Kia corporate. This kind of negligence is unacceptable, especially from a certified Kia dealership. Just left today - rudest experience of all time. I was ready to buy an EV6 Wind or GTLine. I had spent 6 months researching knowing we'd need a new car, and this made it into my top 2 choices or so. I wanted to see an EV6 inside first to actually get the feel and possibly test drive it though, because my partner had seen it, not me. Every bit of research I had done seemed to show it would be the car for us. But the sales experience was horrible. The salesperson asked - before any other question - are you here to look or buy? I was shocked. I said both - If I like it, I may buy. He then vaguely pointed at an area of the lot and said they were over there. He said any comparison to other cars on the market we should do online like he does. We went outside alone and looked, and he joined us quickly. I said we were looking for a GT Line or Wind trim. He looked, and there wasn't one in the lot. We spent 5 minutes in the driver seat of one car, no offer of a test drive. He went back inside. That was it. contacted Hanlees Kia on April 10, 2026, to apply for a 2026 Kia Niro. I only authorized them to submit the application; I was never informed that I would have 46 hard inquiries on my credit report. After several hours, the salesperson called me to say that I had been approved for the vehicle in question. She explained that my down payment would be $2,000--with $1,000 paid upfront and the remaining $1,000 due in two to three weeks--and that my monthly payments would be $450 with a 20% APR. Upon learning the APR, I initially refused to accept the offer. However, after thinking it over for a day--and having received advice from a third party to refinance after a certain period to lower the APR--I decided to accept the offer. I contacted the dealership to ask if the offer was still valid, and they confirmed that it was. I also asked if I could refinance through my credit union, and they again confirmed that I could. Following this, I decided to purchase the vehicle; throughout the entire process, the conversation had always centered on a 2026 Kia Niro. When I arrived at the dealership--having traveled all the way from Sacramento to Davis (a different city)--I fully expected to be picking up the Niro. However, when I asked the agent what color the vehicle was, he became nervous and began to hesitate. Another agent then supposedly went to retrieve the vehicle; when he returned, it was not a Kia Niro at all, but rather a used Toyota with damage to its front bumper. I never authorized a credit check for that specific car; I was lied to from the very beginning, fed false expectations and misinformation. Now, upon reviewing my credit report, I see a total of 46 inquiries listed. It is worth noting that on the Saturday I visited--April 11, 2026--the salesperson I had originally spoken with the day before was not present. I called her today, April 13, 2026, to ask what had happened; she explained that her managers had provided her with that information, and that she had simply relayed the details she had received from them. Car buying can be excruciating, the back and forth games that sales people sometimes play, the add ons that are forcefully pushed upon you, the wasted time spent to just get to a final price, but that was not this experience -- far from it. Fredric was pleasant to deal with, he understood that we had a budget that we needed to stick to, and he did not try to steer us to more expensive add ons. I have never experienced worse customer service ever. This spans months. First they did not want honor the extended warranty we purchased with our. It was like pulling teeth to have that resolved. Then they tell us they have to see if the part we needed was covered by the warranty and they would call us back. 2 months later, we call the warranty company and low a behold it's covered. Car is supposed to be done by Wednesday. It's now Friday. They call my wife to come and pick it up at 230pm. It's 5pm now and she's still waiting. No one calls back for updates during the week even after multiple attempts by us. I call and no managers were on site to speak with us ever. We have officially been told someone will call us back 10 times. Not one return call. They'll take your money in a heartbeat, but when you claim what you paid for everyone is non existent. They leave their receptionist out to dry. She was the only one who would try to help. Stay away if you can. read more

I have taken my Kia to Hanlees over the last 5 years and have had mediocre service initially and the last several interactions made it to the point where I will not be going back. My car was taken to the service department and sat for over a week before it was looked at due to being short staffed. I only received an update after calling several times and being told I would receive a call but I never received a call back. I was quoted a price for a repair and when I called a repair place that only uses OEM parts their price was about 1/3 than Hanlees wanted to charge me. When I asked where my car was parked I was told it was somewhere in the back probably in the first 2 isles and to use my key fob to set off the alarm and find my car. My car ended up being on the opposite side of the building so I was walking around the building like a crazy person hitting my alarm button. I was told that Hanlees had new management and that it would be better but it seemed like the same behavior as before. read more

Warning!!! NEVER purchase a vehicle at this location. This is the worst most poorly run dealership I have ever come across. I purchased a Niro PHEV from this location in 2022. Last year the vehicle came up for a recall based on the potential for a fire. Yikes!!! Ok. Bring it back to Davis and they take the car and have it for 77 days. When I initially dropped off my car, Tony the service rep took me to Enterprise Rental Car down the street with whom they have a partnership/account. They had me rent a car and PROMISED (text and email) they would pay the final amount because of their deal with them. Great! It took a long time but at least I have a safe car. Unfortunately, last month I get a call from Enterprise telling me that I owe them $4689.11. What?!?! This was supposed to be handled. I rush to Kia and Jessica the service manager tells me that they simply didn't have the paperwork and not to worry. Ok! I give them everything I have from Enterprise with the assurance it was handled. Fast forward a week later and now I have an actual charge on my card for the amount. And Jessica has now changed her tune. Maybe they will pay it but its up to Kia Corporate. WHAT!?!? Try to speak with General Manager Joseph.... He is never "in". Mailey the service rep TODAY tells me pretty much, good luck but they won't make good on their promise. Where's Joseph? He's not in. Maybe he's in a meeting ... maybe he's gone ... not sure. If I could give negative stars I would. The experience at this place was just awful. I took my Kia Telluride in for an oil change and to have two trim pieces looked at that were falling off the front doors. Not only did it take them over 2 hours, they charged me 250 dollars, and they told me that one of the pieces couldn't be replaced under warranty because it appeared as if I tried to fix it with glue and there was nothing wrong with the second piece. They then gave me an estimate of 750 dollars to fix the trim. Mind you, I never tried to fix the trim piece because I knew I had a warranty and the glue they saw on the broken clip was literally the way the clip was made. This place is a scam and the employees are as rude as it gets. Save yourself money, time, and patience and go anywhere else. read more

Vehicle listed on their website "Final Price $21,855" I called ahead and spoke to Nora asking if it was in stock and available. She said it was and to make the drive (long) to come and take a look. So I drove up to them. Took it for a test drive, and walked inside. Please note, when I entered I explained to Nora I was not financing, and didn't want to waste there time or mine, simply let me know their best price. (I had a check and was planning to purchase, I also know in todays market place they don't like customers paying cash.) She assured me she understood and would take care of it. Nora "handed me off" to the "scum bag" deal maker. I say "Scum Bag" based upon what proceeded to transpire. Scum Bag sits down and hands over their "best price" Please read this number carefully.......$37,038.24 Yes you read that right. I had to laugh out loud. I asked Scum Bag as I showed him their website why there was such a difference. "Their are no cars, market shortage.....insert excuse here." I specifically asked him if he would sell the car to me for what they had advertised. He went to the manager and came back and said they could not honor the pricing on their site. (I'm pretty sure this is illegal.........?) I told them I did not appreciate them wasting my time and trying to screw me. I left. 15 minutes later my cell rings with Nora stating that she was trying to make things right, and they would meet the price that they had advertised. (I'm thinking the reality of the illegal advertising thing had kicked in...?) Regardless, you tried to screw me. You wasted my time, with questionable legal standing, all to make a buck. In this case a LOT of bucks had I been stupid enough to accept their "best offer." This is the kind of treatment that you get at Hanlees Davis Kia. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service dept! Do not take your car here. My 2025 Sorrento hybrid broke down in the middle of the lane on the freeway so we had to get towed to this hell hole. It was a holiday weekend so we placed our key in the drop box. I saw on my Kia app that they unlocked the doors Tuesday (which I assume they were working on it). No one reached out to me so I called and left two voicemails that day. No response. I called again Wednesday and no answer again. Finally got a call back Wednesday after noon telling me I can pick it up. When I asked what they found they said nothing. They don't know why it stopped running. I shared my concern about picking up the car that has just left me and my daughters stranded on the freeway with out knowing why it happened so he said he can keep it a couple more days to see if they could find the issue. Apparently they aren't smart enough to know that these cars come with kia connect and I can see on my app when they unlock doors, where it's driven, etc. they never touched my car again! They hadn't done anything with it since the first day! I called on Friday to let them know I was picking it up Saturday (we live an hr away so I can't do it during the week with work) to take to another kia dealer. Never got a call back. Showed up Saturday to find out they are closed on Saturdays! No one in the sales department apparently has keys to the service dept so I ended up having to leave my car there to drive back home to get the spare. Total shit show. The fact that they lied about working on it for two more days makes me wonder how much they did to it in the first place. read more

Do not buy a car here nor take your car to get serviced. First off the service department never answers their phone. On 11/4/24 10am we had an appointment for my Kia optima to get serviced for a recall. Tony from the service department helped us. Long story short they didn't have the part. How do you not have the part when we made this appointment over a month out?! He looked into it further and he said they can use another part from a person who never came in. Later, we got a call from the sales department asking if we are interested in selling. No we weren't. So we are trying to get ahold of Tony with no luck. It's already 5 pm. He calls a little after 5 and tells us they didn't have the part after all. We brought our car in at 10am. Why did it take him the end of the day to tell us this. We kept calm and he told us they can get it the next day (that was Tuesday). Friday hits we haven't heard anything. I had been trying to call the service department this whole time and nothing. Finally I call his cell. He calls me back and tells me it's going to be done today(Friday). Uhm I can't just drop everything and get it. So I tell him I cannot pick it up until Sunday. He says ok. Sales department will have the key. Sunday I pick the car up. The guy I pick it up from keeps saying, "if there's anything wrong with it call Tony ". He said it four times. It made me feel a certain way. We brought the car in and nothing was wrong with it. We pick it up and it's making this loud noise. I couldn't really do anything about it because I had no time to deal with it. Today (11/13) my partner took it out, as she was coming to a stop the car didn't stop. So it's making a weird noise and it's not stopping. We just got work done on it including a transmission. There was nothing wrong with the car before we brought it in!!! I call Tony around 7am. Leave him a msg. I did let him know I'm extremely frustrated. He calls me and he came in HOT!! Extremely unprofessional and didn't let me talk. He talked over me and was defensive. He also told me he did us a favor letting us pick up the car on a Sunday. They didn't have our part when we arrived, had horrible communication and he did us a favor?! Wow!! He proceeded to yell at me and tell me that I'm calling him after hours and he doesn't start until 8am. Well that was his choice to call me back. He could have waited until he got into the office. This guy has no idea what professionalism is and is very reactive. My car was perfectly fine. Getting back to the end of our conversation. I say, "how can we fix this?". Do you know what this guy says!?! "We are busy this week". He just chewed me out because I left him a msg after hours and he's not in the office yet, but he knows that they are too busy to look at my car!? He didn't care. I don't let things slide. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau along with other agencies. After him telling me he's too busy and not having a calendar in front of him I gave up. I also want to emphasize that without even looking at the car he was very adamant that they didn't do anything to the car and it wasn't their fault. How does he know!? I bought my 2017 Jeep Renegade brand new. Had really great service with them through the years UNTIL...The very LAST service I had with them was just a simple oil change and tire rotation. Here's why I gave the service department one star. They don't have ZERO stars on Yelp...They must have changed service management. The manager came out and showed me a "mangled" lug nut off my Jeep. They wanted me to purchase another lug nut! Excuse me? Why should I buy another lug nut because it's their fault they screwed up! I refused to buy a set of new lug nuts from them. They quoted $60 for a set! I call "BS". Plus the manager said then you will have to run on three lug nuts! I also called "BS" again because the Renegade has "FIVE" lugs and not four. We had the absolute craziest experience with this dealership. Neither my husband nor I have that much experience buying cars, so when the salesperson asked us to put down a $500 deposit for the car we were intending to buy before completing the sales process later that wek we thought that was reasonable. Days passed and we heard nothing. Then we showed back up there to see what was going on to learn that the salesperson along with EVERY SINGLE OTHER PERSON WHO WORKED THERE HAD QUIT. What? So the new people working there said actually the car costs $6,000 more than the price we'd agreed on because it's coated in some invisible coating (the opening scene of Fargo!). We obviously said no and they said they'd return the deposit no problem. That was months ago. Periodically they tell us the money is coming. It never does. I call about it and they just hang up. This is, I think, legally fraud. I'm not sure what to do about my situation, but to anyone else considering this dealership please be careful! read more
