Hangry's has always been such a delightful place to dine-in or take-out. If you're looking for a place for comfort food with a large variety, come to Hangry's! Whether it is pasta, burgers, or even a sweet treat, Hangry's got it all. It is a hidden gem in Chicago, and that is something I cherish. Service has always been very kind. Just recently, the server gave us a sample of the Pumpkin Spice Horchata before we decided on ordering it. This is super generous of them (they gave a big sample haha) and we fully appreciated their gesture. Dining area is spacious enough and we came in around 6:45PM. There was still plenty of room to dine-in or for those who are waiting for their take-out orders. The Chicken Diabla is probably one of my favorite pastas from Hangry's. It is not your ordinary alfredo, but rather an alfredo with a spicy kick and mouthwatering flavor Each time I visit Hangry's, I never fail to order an horchata slushie. My all time favorite is the Ube Horchata Slushie. It has the right amount of sweetness with a flavor that you'll never find anywhere else. Well this is the first time trying hangrys cuz I keep seeing it's near where I live. Food was decently delicious I ordered the chicken alfredo however for the portions and how much I spent almost $17 I think it's a bit overpriced. The staff was nice enough to let me try samples of their slushies in cups. They had slushy horchata, pineapple and some other flavor I'm not familiar with but it's very fruity. Ambience was semi-formal casual you pretty much order up at the cashier and if you're going to dine in. Again the food was not bad in the service was not terrible but the reason for three stars is I think it's just too much I could get originally going to Lou malnati's King Louie chicken alfredo and it's cheaper at $13 and you get more portions with the same good quality at Lou malnati's. it's ironic that they call it Hangrys despite small portions lol. I also ordered the tiramisu. I would most likely come back to trying their hamburgers but their pasta I wish they would give more. The tortilla soup too for a side dish was a little cup. Again the quality was good but I expected a little more portion wise for paying almost 17 plus for alfredo. I could have gone to Elmwood Park and they give you a lot more for 20 bucks and their quality was just as good for their chicken broccoli Alfredo. First time here, and pretty long drive from the far south-east side of Chicago but I was glad it was worth it! The parking lot was pretty full and busy due to a lot of pickup orders, which I understand, luckily, we found some street parking close by. We walked right in and were greeted and seated right away and it was pretty busy but not completely full yet. The service was great, friendly welcoming, helpful and even gave us free samples to try the original Horchata slushy which of course we loved and ordered it in 3 different flavors - (Original , strawberry which was my husband's favorite so much he didn't want to share! and Ube, My Favorite! The waiter even let me try it first to make sure I liked it! ). I also ordered a watermelon and lemon slushy which was incredible!! I hope it's available in the Summertime! The food came out fast and fresh and everything we had was great. The cheese sticks were good but could have been a bit hotter (no cheese pull) but not a big miss. All the food and drinks were so good we ordered chicken wings to go to eat at home with the BEARS GAME. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back! I've tried this place a few times when we visit family in Chicago. The food is consistently good! The horchata slushy was phenomenal. Sweet and cold but not too sweet. The wings were delicious. The famous Horchata slushie was excellent, and the two pastas we ordered for takeaway - chicken arabbiata and shrimp Alfredo - were more than decent! Both pastas had huge portions, enough for 2 meals. The Alfredo that my spouse ordered did taste like it could use more salt but that's just me. What stole the show for me was the tortilla soup, a hearty and light bowl with chicken and I think sliced parsley. Take note that if you come during the lunch hour you might have to wait about 20 to 30min for your order. While waiting, the staff was so nice to give us a sample of their guava-hibiscus slushy. Phenomenal! I'm from Malaysia and the guava was a favorite fruit I missed, and I found it amusing that our national flower ended up in a slushy. Highly recommend. read more

I had read that this place was more of a takeout spot. So when I planned to order some burgers from here, I placed the order online with the intention of eating the burgers in my car. When I arrived to pickup the food, I notice that it was actually quite spacious with a lot of tables available. I was able to switch my order to dine in without any issues. This place was packed and it took a while for my order to be ready, but the staff was still great and very welcoming. The wife ordered their Bacon Burger and I ordered their Piggy Back Burger. They pretty much tasted the same since they both had cheddar cheese, bbq sauce and crispy onions. The Piggy Back came with pulled pork and with a pretzel bun. Everything tastes better on a pretzel bun, but both burgers were good. The fries were also really good. Theyre hand cut and tasted freshly made. The food is always flavorful, hot, and yummy. I cannot get enough of the wings. I've tired about 5 flavors so far, and I cannot figure out which one is my flavor. So I'll keep trying them until I find out my favorite flavor. I've tried the the Belmont Cragin, Korean, Lemon Blaze, The Bandit, and Lemon Pepper. Ordered takeout. Got the diablo shrimp pasta ; wow! It was delicious! I am craving it thinking about it now. The garlic bread it came with was super tasty dipping it in that delicious diablo sauce. The place wasn't too busy, I didn't expect it to look so casual inside, but I like it. Customer service was good, the cashier was patient with me. I asked for the burger without pulled pork as I wasn't in the mood for pork. The fries were crispy and delicious. The burger was tasty but kinda hard/tough to chew. I think that they use a really lean ground beef and that could affect the texture of the burger or they hand make the Pattie's and they manipulate the beef too much which can cause the burger to be tough and dry after it's cooked. I really liked my ube horchata slushy. That's a new one! I've passed this place so many times and I never tried it. Overall I enjoyed my food and I will return. read more

We came in right at opening, and the service was very attentive at first, but once it started to get more full, they kind of forgot about us. We got 2 burgers & fries to go. The cheesyburger was pretty good. Medium rare was more like medium which was great. 1/2 lb so it's pretty big. The piggyback (pulled pork on top) was really greasy, but I guess that's what I asked for, so how can I complain? The fries though, they were very limp and greasy. Maybe it's because they were in the to go container for 15-20 minutes before we opened them and started eating. So besides the unsurprising greasiness of piggyback burger (the pulled pork was VERY tasty) the fries are my only complaint, but I need to go eat in the restaurant before I really judge them fairly. Hangry's is always solid as a greasy spoon option with great service and a parking lot just big enough to always have room for one more car. I've had many of the sandwiches at Hangry's and never had a bad experience. We recently came in for lunch with my kids, and I have to say that we need to celebrate how well Hangry's does as a family-friendly business. The staff treated the kids exceptionally well, and by the time my son's grilled cheese came out with bacon on it--a funny suggestion by the staff that turned out to be magic--my kids were in hog heaven. The fries are always perfect. The pasta is done just right, with pasta on the side or served right on it. The kicker were the shakes. I like them thick, and Hangry's still impressed me with coming in just a little thicker than that. We try to go here about once a quarter, and across maybe half a dozen visits, I've always left satisfied. read more

My rating is a 3/4 solely based on my experience being delivery. I've wanted to try this place for so long now, but I want to try it again but dine-in. I ordered the 24 piece chicken wings with fries and a side of their buffalo chicken nachos. Chicken wings: Chicken wings were not bad. It would've tasted better if it wasn't delivered obviously. The flavors we got were the Belmont Cragin and korean. Both really yummy! It came with fries, however, they were not good. They were so soggy with no seasoning. I also found they put carrots underneath the french fries? Like why did they have to put them in the same container underneath all the hot food? They could've easily just put the carrots separately on the side. The carrots ended up being gross too. Buffalo chicken nachos: These were gross. 1 star from me. These were definitely a catfish from the picture on their website. Poor presentation. It was soggy by the time it came to eat it. I really wished they packed it disassembled so the chips wouldn't have gotten soggy. What also threw me off was the beans. I was not expecting refried beans, especially with buffalo chicken. It felt like this was just thrown together and it was not that good tasting. Based on their website, their food looks delicious. But it's definitely one of those places where the food looks way better in the pictures than in real life. They also need to do better in terms of packaging for takeout/delivery. read more

Good portions, the fries appeared to be from potatoes, skin on. Nice and friendly service, well staffed and quick. Small, but free parking lot. Came here on a Saturday night and had no issues.
