Mojarra al mojo de ajo ... great flavor ... the rice and beans so good took some to go

Definitely a must try ... get a group and go do some karaoke... food is super flavorful and delish

Grupo de amigas con el chef. Pedimos conocer al.creador de tan excelente comida.

The ambiance is fantastic. The food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, not the typical Mexican food you find in Chicago, this is truly like being in Mexico. Great menu, I have tried the chicken and beef tacos, the mojarra frita, guachinango frito, camarones empanizados, camarones al ajo y quesadillas. The rice is freshly made, you can taste it. So are the beans. The staff is also great, very professional, engaged and committed to you. Always with a nice and authentic smile and kindness. I fully recommend this restaurant. Absolutely amazing!! And last but not least, the prices are budget friendly.

Carne asada, you must try it

If you're looking to have a great time with friends, I highly suggest their wine tasting. It gets…read morecrowded in the bar area, so expect to wait. I loved how knowledgeable our bartender was of their wine selection and each glass was better than the last. The dinner left a bit to be desired. They were out of the short rib risotto, so I swapped to a chicken and mashed potato dish that lacked flavor. The skillet cookie had way too much chocolate and was incredibly salty. However, our server was great and super friendly.

Unfortunately we had a pretty mediocre time. The evening began with our waitress struggling to get wine tastings to our table. When asked for a white, we received a red after about 20 minutes. At that point two of our party asked for different beverages since obviously getting wine at a winery was proving to be an issue Then, the white wine tasting didn't show up until the food arrived. Water was never refilled despite promises to do so. And since we were waiting so long for the wine tastes, you would think the waitress would have asked if anyone else would like to order a different beverage in the mean time... Nope. When the food came out with a runner the waitress stopped and asked if the food was alright, but we had just seen it. She didn't stop by again until it was time to order dessert. Still no drink refills We ordered desserts, and one came out. We waited. And waited and waited. Nothing else came out. Our waitress was very inattentive, to the point we seriously considered just leaving when it looked like we were never going to see her again. We waited 45 minutes. I finally flagged someone down and asked for a manager and one never appeared. Another member of our party went to the restroom and spotred the waitress and explained the situation. We had been there three hours, and we were all very annoyed at this point. The restaurant comped the desserts and got them to us in a to go bag, and provided one bottle of the wine. The manager never appeared. Check had to be revised twice. Overall a very frustrating experience.

We had heard about First Watch so once we picked up the rental car we decided to make it our first food stop. The restaurant is located in a shopping center so parking was super easy. As soon as we walked in I noticed how comfortable and family friendly the atmosphere was. At first the setup gave me a little IHOP vibe but once the food came out I immediately took that comparison back! We were a group of four and were seated right away. Our server came over quickly for our drinks and the food came out surprisingly fast. Everything was hot, fresh, flavorful, and seriously delicious. The staff was friendly, the restaurant felt welcoming, and even the bathrooms were clean which is always a plus. If you're in the Chicago area and looking for a good breakfast or brunch spot, First Watch is definitely worth a stop

The hostess understood the assignment. She had us wait a few minutes and then nabbed us and seated us a a very nice roomy booth. Coffee all around except for a lemonade for the little guy. Their coffee is exceptional. Food, I had the Godfather which was way too much food. My husband had the chilaquiles which he said was good and spicy. Son had a side of grilled chicken breast that he devoured in no time. We also had the pumpkin donuts which were amazing for dessert. Server was very nice and helpful throughout our meal. Hope to have her again next time we're out there.
