Where do I even start. My wife and I hired Handyman based off of all the positive reviews and our interactions during the quoting process. We asked to have a room converted back into a bedroom after the previous owner had tore it down. They said it was a very simple job, put up a few walls, hang a door, etc. and that it would take 5-7 days to complete. Handyman hires subcontractors and assigns them to a job, we were assigned Ro. He was very nice and had a good personality, but was extremely unprofessional, always late, skipped days without notice, quality of work was very poor, always lied, over promised, under delivered. The total length of the project was over 8 and a half weeks. 40 business days or 56 days of people in and out of our home, which was far more than 5-7 days. Each week we received a note that stated it would be completed by end of week, which was a lie each time. Job started 4/8 - Job ended 6/4 Ro would have random people at our home on any given day, some of which I'm not sure if they were licensed as he claimed one person was his "brother" and that gentleman seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. Example would be this man painted all of the was with paint that had no primer in it and did not primer first. So the following day when it dried, the paint started to flake and peel off in chunks. Ro would also leave piles of trash at our house and construction debris in our walkway, which in our contract it said he would take it every night. Did not mask off the room correctly, got dust in every crevice of our home, and made it impossible to walk through with the way he hung it. In total we had about 12+ people (contractors?) work on a job that was claimed to be simple and only take a few days to complete. Durning these agonizing 8+ weeks, I was in contact with Travis the owner. I was expressing constant frustrations and concern of quality of work. He would always over promise and under deliver, along with zero follow up. For the duration of the job I felt as though I was the project manager on his behalf. It wasn't until his GM Jeff returned from vacation and I demanded and in person conversation that Ro was removed from the job and the rework began on all of the things he messed up. Jeff was good to work with and has much better communication. But anything is better than almost nothing. Rework was as followed: Door was framed wrong and had to be removed and replaced All walls needed to be skim coated (they did this close to 6 times?) walls still uneven. Floor had to be torn out and redone a floor guy laughed at how bad it was done the first time Baseboards were removed and replaced but have gaps everywhere. Drywall damaged after install, replaced and fixed Fan was wired incorrectly causing the circuit to trip All the door trim was installed with wood screws and was over filled with too much wood fill A bunch of damage happened to things unrelated to the job that I asked them to fix. They painted 3 times as they kept having to fix things I'm sure other things but this was all I documented After all the rework and continuing quality issues of work being done we told Travis and Jeff that it was fine to call the job "completed" and please cut us an invoice. Even with us not being satisfied with the finished product, we wanted them out and our home back. We received a muddy invoice that we had to verify as it was a mess, once confirmed we paid it and moved on with our lives. Now everyday I look at that part of my house in regret of hiring this company. I'm writing this review in hopes that you can avoid what we went through and I would encourage you will find a better company to work with, as we have. Dealing with owners is great, but mixed feelings about work done. I paid about $2k to have some floor repair done and I totally got the B team sent out and am not happy with the work at all. Paid to have squishy floor shored up. B team put down real thin plywood. I brought it to his attention and asked to remove it and put down thicker, more solid plywood, but he just put down another thin sheet. B team assured me it would be fine. LVP installed and bathroom done, and my floor is still squishy and LVP is separating and cracking in spots. That said they were the only ones I could find who would do subfloor repair, so that's something. read more

Contacted Handyman Rescue in need of a full exterior painting done ASAP for 2500 sq ft 2-story house. Not only were they able to schedule the job immediately (middle of busy season, so competitors were 2+ months out) but the quote was at/below market. The painting crew was extremely courteous and accommodating - our family really enjoyed working with them without disruption to running errands, yard work, etc. And not only did they finish faster than estimated, the quality/detail of their work was excellent. You can definitely tell they are craftsman who enjoy and take pride in their work. This was a much better experience & quality of work than prior contracting/painting we have had done in the last 20+ years on this house. read more

I, unfortunately, wouldn't recommend this company. We settled on a 9am meeting. I stayed at the agreed upon location until 9:30. No one showed up. I called the Handyman Rescue at 9:15 and spoke with a (super lovely) receptionist who told me I would get an urgent call back. I finally received a call at 9:34, when the handyman had shown up at the site. He said he was stuck in traffic, and the appointment was from 9-10am-- but that would still mean the appointment begins at 9. If someone would have called to inform me that the handyman was running late, I would have given some forgiveness. read more

Travis was friendly and professional. I originally had a Mantel Mount that used to go on drywall but I removed it when we moved and needed it installed on brick at our new place. Travis did the measurements and gave me his honest opinion about mounting it on stone. Because of the nature of the stone being uneven and the extra weight with this mantel mount, I heeded his advice and went with just a regular mount. Plus the fact that we no longer had a mantel that needed the TV pulled down for. This allowed us to mount the TV lower where we wanted it. The whole process took about 2 hours or so and we had the TV correctly mounted. I 100% recommend Travis for your TV mounting needs. read more

He listened to my concerns and got my color choices. He had an opening early the following week. I found Handyman Rescue Team via Yelp. I just moved to Seattle and bought an old house that had been remodeled but needed several projects completed to make it my home. The projects were pretty diverse: installing a vanity, recessed medicine cabinet, and cat door; moving a closet door that required a bunch of framing, drywall, texture, painting, and trim; and fixing some drywall where an electrician had to cut in. Communication, payment, and the work itself has all been flawless. Pricing is fair, especially for the quality of the work and professionalism. I can't find enough good things to say about Handyman Rescue Team (HMRT)! I work full time and recently bought a condo in Downtown Seattle, I had about three weeks to get several projects completed before moving in. The inspection report pointed out a few things I needed to fix and I reached out to HMRT for help. Travis responded quickly and sent Jeff, who I've requested that he come back 4 times now to help with other projects and to fix something a plumber messed up. I ordered a rangehood from amazon to replace my microwave/rangehood combo. I did some research and attempted to try it on my own, turns out not as simple because it involves cutting the drywall and fitting the new air tunnel to the existing vent. I recently replaced countertops with granite in 2 bathrooms but the granite place doesn't do any plumbing. I search YELP and found Handyman Rescue Team- they had great reviews so I sent out my S.O.S. And Travis got back to me in a reasonable time. He gave me an price and we set the appt. Shortly before the appt, I discovered the undercounter drain didn't line up with the new sink holes and Travis said they would adjust or replace the pipes to fit. 09/02 Jeff arrived on time, evaluated the pipes, installed the faucets and added new pipes. Scheduled an appointment for 9:00AM on a Monday. At 9:30AM when no one arrived nor called regarding a delay, we contacted Handyman Rescue. The receptionist took my phone number and said she would reach back out once she spoke to the scheduler. Didn't hear back from the company until 11:05AM when the contractor was "in the area" and able to stop by. No thank you. This company clearly doesn't value your time as we needed to rearrange work schedules to accommodate the original time slot. I understand things happen, but expecting someone at 9AM and getting no update until 2 hours later is unacceptable. read more

Whatever you need done, these are the best guys you could possibly hire. They are reliable, responsive, incredibly good at what they do, reasonably priced and an absolute delight to work with. Before I went with them I shopped around and, really, there is no comparison. They are THE BEST! I had wanted to put shelves in around a large bedroom window for books. I contacted maybe a dozen other contractors and, in almost all cases, the job was either too little to be of interest or required too much skill and planning. They contacted me in a day, I explained what I wanted and how I wanted it done and they came up with a plan. They communicated incredibly quickly along the way, contributed a lot of suggestions that really showed how skilled they are, and hand crafted shelves for me that are beyond my expectations and are just absolutely perfect. I was very pleased with the work that Jeff did at my mom's condo. Grab bars were installed in her shower and the bathroom fan was repaired. He was able to easily accomplish both jobs with within an hour. While I appreciate that the work was done very expediently, I would have to say the hourly rate was quite high, however, I did agree to this price before scheduling the work to be done so it was not a surprise. Perhaps it would be more cost effective to do more jobs at one time--I will have to inquire with Travis. Carlos and Miguel really were the handymen to my rescue! I haven't had great experiences with handyman companies before, to put it mildly. Carlos came and gave an estimate and was not only very personable, he clearly knows what he's talking about. He gave me really good advice on what to fix right away vs wait. He arrived with Miguel right on time this morning and together they spent the day painting, fixing gutters, patching walls, and repairing trim. I am so impressed with the quality of the results and how pleasant they were to work with! They weren't even finished with the project before I'd already recommended them to my neighbors. I don't think they would have done anything differently had it been their own homes. I called this company Saturday morning to have our TV mounted and possibly a few other jobs such as moving furniture (due to being 5 months pregnant, I cannot move a sofa on my own). By reading their Yelp reviews, they seemed like a great company. There was no answer, so then I received a text message about what kind of job we needed done right after the call. I understand they must be busy handling different jobs over the weekend, but it took them 5 hrs to reply. We just bought a house and wanted to take down a non-load bearing wall, patch the drywall, refinish the trim, and repaint the wall. We got several quotes and went with Handyman Rescue Team because they were the best rated and gave us the most reasonable quote and were able to come out within two days. They had many payment options available (check, Venmo, credit card, etc), which was extremely convenient and easy. Chris and Vasea came out to work on the house - they were so fast and polite. We were told up front the estimated cost would not include material, but the material cost came out to only about $150, which didn't feel marked up. After a few hours over three days, we can barely tell there was a wall there before. They did such an excellent job it looks like the room was designed this way. I'd been trying to get a hole in my ceiling fixed for a while and decided to give Home Depot Home Services a try. At first, it wasn't encouraging. Most of the pros I was referred to wanted me to duplicate my effort by entering everything in their websites instead of, apparently, reading the request submitted through HD. Of those who responded, one didn't show up for scheduled work and the other submitted a ridiculous $3000 bid. I decided to submit a second request and see if I could fare better. I hit the jackpot on the second try with Handyman Rescue Team. Scheduling was efficient and easy, the rates quoted were very reasonable, and the pro who showed up to do the work, Thee, was excellent. He showed up on time, was friendly, professional, and skilled. He completed the job in less than 3 hours, including the supply run. I can't even see the hole in my ceiling anymore, unless I'm looking for it, and once it's painted, it will be non detectable. Speaking of painting, I asked Thee about having the interior of my house painted, and he gave me some very valuable tips. I will definitely reach out to Handyman Rescue Team the next time the need for a handyman arises. read more

I get that business for tradespeople is REALLY booming right now but some kind of follow-up is better than nothing at all ---- even if it's just to acknowledge the contact by sending a "thank you for contacting us. We had a great experience with Handyman Rescue team for a project in June. They installed a new bathroom fan in a bathroom that didn't have one. Handyman was very responsive and we were able to get an appointment quickly. They had quoted replacement of a fan so when Jeff came out and realized that the bathroom didn't have a fan, he explained that they needed to update the quote for the additional work for electrical and venting. Travis did an incredible job mounting my 60" tv on drywall. He was thorough in looking for studs, setting the mount to be level, and making sure that I was happy with what the placement of the tv would be. He even vacuumed drywall dust afterwards.
