    Front of the house

We hired Phinney Ridge painting to paint our house a year ago. We've been very happy with results. The house is about 100 years old and it had a lot of bubbling under the old paint layer. Other painting companies told us that we'd have to replace the siding or the bubbles would come back. Only Phinney Ridge said they had a solution that could remove the bubbles without requiring replacing siding. ( a competitor even mention Phinney Ridge was the only one that could do this). It was definitely expensive, but worth it as the bubbles haven't returned in the areas that were shaved down. House looks beautiful and we've got a ton of compliments from our neighbors. Phinney Ridge was also able to install some dental detailing, which took the house up another notch. Ryan, Lalo, and Elder were all awesome to work with. Perhaps what's most important is that they stand behind the quality of their work. Small bubbles have popped up in a few areas that didn't get shaved down and they've come back and address them as part of their service, no charge. We are very happy we chose to go with Phinney Ridge painting!

Disappointed is the word I'd use to describe my recent experience with PRP. Nik came out to the house. He was charming and personable. He provided detailed explanation of what the job would entail. He even furnished me with two other local companies so I could compare + contrast bids. He told me he'd send over a detailed bid and a few days later he did. The bid was a bit higher than expected. I had two more companies come bid the house. One was higher. One was lower. I wanted to discuss the bid with Nik so I called the office and spoke with Jason. Jason said he'd pass along the message. It's unclear if he did because I never heard back from Nik. A week later I sent Jason a follow up email and cc'd Nik. Still no response. Hence the disappointment. Hence the two star review, because per the description, it "could've been better."

Great service and workmanship from bid to completion of the project. They are obviously busy for a reason, do plan ahead for best results.

Our painter was Sam Licio and he did a wonderful job despite the fact that we had a slightly offbeat paint scheme.

We approached Ryan to make a walnut trestle table for our dining room, and it is freaking gorgeous. He was professional, collaborative with regards to design, and was able to stick to a reasonable schedule despite the madness of a global pandemic. Not only did the build out take forever (7 months), but since picking up my van on my first/second use, I have had roof leaks because they didn't install the "C" gaskets right for the AC unit, I experienced multiple leaks in the pressurized plumbing system (see pictures below) which caused wood damage to the cabinetry due to poor PEX seals, I still have no relief from the misbehaving (and Rydawell recommended) Ecoflow electrical system, I discovered they failed to insulate the sliding door, they actually plumbed the gray water lines into the BOTTOM of the gray water tank using the same penetration point as the drain (this caused water to back up into the shower pan when using the sinks (not to mention it would fail completely in freezing weather) and I discovered that the Rixen heating system was installed against manufacturer recommendations (to name just some of the issues). This has caused me thousands of dollars to get repaired (so far) at another (competent) van builder. While his hourly rate may seem cheaper, it takes him much longer to accomplish work items. As an example, his quote to install a 2nd battery (which he was supposed to have left room for) was twice as long as I was able to get it done elsewhere by professional van builders.

Knowing this was going to be a good size job, we got a few quotes before starting the work. Daniel was one of the quotes. While he was not the cheapest, I was impressed with his knowledge and the thoroughness of the estimate. He also gave us a sheet of references and after calling some we picked him for the job. Right away I knew we made the correct choice. He did an excellent job guiding us through the process of picking out the doors and letting us know the type of hardware. When it was time for the work to start he was very communicative as to what he was going to do and when. He also sent me a few photos of the work in progress during the day so I could see what was going on. It was a nice touch. When the job was complete it came in on budget and was well done.

Well, very small turned out to be not-so-small and we needed a contractor to help. Many of the contractors I contacted never returned my calls or emails. Of those who did, only Daniel asked lots of questions, came out to meet us and see the house, and stayed in contact without aggressively selling to us at every turn. Daniel was a pleasure to work with in every respect. He communicated frequently, was straightforward with us about options and cost and delivered a quick, professional result. He was friendly and respectful even though our little job and house are much smaller than his normal work. We're so thankful that we found a good contractor on our first try and will definitely work with Westbrook Restorations again! (Note: Westbrook Restorations isn't going to be your cheapest option, and it may likely be the most expensive, but it's absolutely worth it).
