Oyster Pancake was probably the best I've had for a very long time - it was filled with oysters, not too doughy, not too saucy. The rice noodle soup came out first. It has a sour smell immediately which was intriguing and unfamiliar. The soup itself is fruity and sour but not sweet. It has a pleasant peppery heat and fresh herbaceous element. These flavors all work together and create a unique flavor profile. The noodles are slippery and bouncy and there was some unexpected surprises lying underneath, like strips of hot dog. I saw some photos online that made the stir fry look fairly light on the beef, but my portion seemed larger than what I was expecting. The strips of beef are combined with mango, bell pepper and slices of kumquat. The mango is very soft when cooked, and its sweetness is tempered with salt and the savory beef. The peppers were also soft and the little slices of kumquat provided an extra punch of sour flavor. My complaint about this place is that I found the beef in both of my dishes to be subpar. I believe it's an issue of low quality product and not one of cooking. The pieces in the soup were dry and unpleasantly chewy and I avoided them all together. The pieces in the stir fry appeared to be some sort of grisly off cut. The long muscle fibers were sliced with the grain instead of against, which provided a chewy and unpleasant eating experience. The interior is well decorated and while others have mentioned how small it is, I had no problem finding a table and didn't feel very cramped at all. The service was extremely friendly and kind despite an obvious language barrier.
