Licks: 4 scoop sampler (8) -didn't ask for samples. This place is so good wow! And I don't even really like ice cream. We got the chocolate dipped banana (it's milk chocolate) and the banana cake batter ice cream. It was insanely delicious! Okaaaaay Handel's has some seriously GOOD ice cream and milkshakes. I appreciate the unique flavors, you can sample some before you decide which one you like. The staff is super nice and has cute simple decor, bright welcoming vibes. I got the buckeye and cheesecake Oreo, along with milkshakes and a banana cream pie quart to go. Newest addition to downtown Livermore and surprise, surprise it's an ice cream shop! Parking is all along the streets and timed but not metered so that's nice. The outside of the shop has a couple of stone "benches" to sit on but that's about all there is in terms of "enjoy your ice cream here." The inside is relatively large, you line up and can try some flavors before making a choice. While I tried the banana cream pie (and it had great flavor) I instead opted for the vanilla with Oreos in a waffle cone. I didn't look at the price since my husband paid, but it was a single and there were enough scoops to knock me out for the rest of the day. Overall, Handel's is a place to return to, but in moderation. I wish they provided outdoor tables for seating especially with the lovely weather! read more

Great addition to downtown Livermore! I've been to their location in Irvine and am happy to have a location near home. Love all the different flavors and my fave is the chocolate peanut butter brownie. It's so good with the chunks of brownies and peanut butter. Big and clean inside with lots of employees. Service was fast and friendly and they offer samples. There was a line when I arrived but it moved quickly. No seating inside and nothing outside. It was a warm day with lots of people standing around outside or sitting on the sidewalk enjoying their ice cream. Some benches would be great. Enjoyed my ice cream but wish it was more firm. It melted quickly but no problem. I ate it quick and I'll be back for more! read more

With the weather warming up, Handel's opened up just in time. There were a ton of different flavors to sample, but ultimately my friend and I were set on the ice cream we wanted already. There were so many flavors to choose from that I couldn't decide but they give the option to sample them. Even with the option to sample, we couldn't decide exactly what we wanted so we ordered the 4-scoop sampler. The scoops were relatively big and only for $8!! We tried the vanilla with oreo, chocolate peanut butter brownie, orange dream cream, and ooohh...dough! All were delicious, but my favorite was the oreo one. Had some time to kill before meeting friends for dinner, so my partner and I figured we may as well start with desert. What an unexpected surprise! The line was short and moved quickly, the staff was very communicative and attentive, and my taro ice cream was really incredible. Creamy, flavorful, and a perfect texture. Today we tried the newly opened homemade ice cream shop in Livermore, Handel's. Let me just say... before they even opened this morning, there were more than 30 people ahead of us in line! I ordered the 4-scoop sampler for $8 and chose Sticky Fingers, Horchata, Vanilla, and Strawberry. Every single flavor was delicious! I'd definitely go back again... just maybe not until next month, otherwise I'd be packing on the pounds! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the shop was clean. The only exception? Some of the best ice cream I've had. I first went to their shop in Roseville, then Huntington Beach & am exceedingly happy they've now opened this store in my town. Fresh, handmade ice cream with a variety of unusual flavors made using the highest quality ingredients. One of my favorites I believe is the blueberry cobbler one that has chunks of pie crust in it. Handel's is a very clean and bright looking ice cream shop, with a wide variety of flavors. There were 6 people in front of me and the line moved along quickly. An employee greeted me and quickly took my order. I had pistacho and horchata flavors and both were excellent. The ice cream is creamy and I have never had that many nuts in pistachio ice cream anywhere. It's the best I've had to date. I will definitely go back and look forward to trying different flavors. The price was very reasonable for the size of scoops. My only recommendation is that they add some seating. read more

I am so excited there is now a Handel's in Livermore. I like their ice cream better than Loard's and the dairy. They have so many flavor options. I reccommend the 4 flavor sampler so you can try many and figure out what you like best, at $8 it is a good deal. My 2nd time back I got a small in a waffle bowl $7 good potion. My biggest complaint is the lack of any indoor seating, apparently there are lines out the door sometimes but to use that as a reason for no seating in the heat of summer is a bummer. If it is nice we go sit at the picnic tables by purpose built. Also the music is a but loud sometimes but overall a good experience and great servings and quality for the price. read more

I was in the mood for ice cream and found Hansel's from a yelp search. I walked in and really didn't know what to order as there was vast amount of options. An employee by the name of Serafina provided excellent service. Serafina explained the top customer and her favorites which helped me narrow do my choice, mint chocolate chip flavor by the way. What was most impressive also was how Serafina not only helped me but other customers at the same time. I had a great experience at this particular Handel's store and will be a weekly customer. read more

After waiting in line for 10 min, we were told we could not change any toppings on the banana split, which was the only reason we came for ice cream. We've been there probably 15 times since the grand opening. Always a friendly staff and the scoops are good size.

The service was fast, and everyone was friendly. I was excited to try the pistachio ice cream, but I found the amount of pistachios to be a bit overwhelming. I've had pistachio ice cream at other places where there's a better balance between the creamy ice cream and the pistachio flavor. We were able to walk right in and order our luscious ice cream. Staff were friendly and quick. You do get a lot of product for the money. That being said, this isn't soft serve cheap.
