homey little snack shack on the main drag just down the road from the auto repair shop. signage says 51 years in business and I expect they'll be here a while longer. friendly faces and smiles and a waitress who understands 'old guy diner schmooze' sign on the wall says the special is four handee burgers 10.59 and comes with taters and a beverage. it's special so I'll go with that, sub tots for fries. burgers are like krystal (white castle?) but less corporate and are served on a plate with the pickle on top. they eat pretty well at a fair price point, coffee is black and hot and fresh so yeah, I would totally eat here again. read more

Great food, service, place was loud but it was packed to the gills so to be expected. Cheap and good sliders and best onion rings I've had in a really long time read more

Fantastic servers. Great location. Awesome food. Go by and enjoy. The chuck wagon sandwich is one of my favorites.

This place is a hidden gem!! I was in town for a business meeting and drove by this place on my way to the meeting. As soon as I got finished, all I could think about was grabbing a burger and immediately I thought of this cute little restaurant. I absolutely adored the atmosphere, and the small town feel! The staff were incredible and the food was delicious. You can bet that I will be coming back again! read more

Handee Burger - Cheeseburger and Fries - Burgers Near Me - Kingston, Tennessee

Wow! They were SUPER packed at lunch & for good reason! Even with it being so busy, I was in and out in MAYBE 30 minutes. The ladies at the grill were working their tails off and getting orders out very quickly ( andddd made it damn good) . The older gentleman ( and he was just that, a gentleman!) apologized for the wait but with food this good, most definitely worth it . If you haven't yet, please stop by and give these folks a visit! read more

I was passing through town and pulled in for a quick lunch. Place was packed the lady invited me to sit at the counter and I demolished a bacon cheeseburger and fries that were both cooked to perfection. It didn't seem to matter that the place was so crowded as my lunch came out within 5 minutes of me ordering it. Doubtful that I will pass through this town again but if you're in the vicinity and you're hungry I give them my fullest endorsement. Delish. read more

I have liked this place ever since I was a kid. It is just hard to catch them open. Still like it.

Friendly fast service and breakfast was right on point. I was just passing through, but this is obviously a local favorite. Delicious

Best little burger joint. We used to eat here all the time while working in the area. We always joke about giving us the poops every time but we always come back for more. They taste great and will definitely clean you out if you're clogged up back there. ;) read more

I live in Kingston and we go to Handee Burger all the time! Love the Handee burgers, they are so much better than Krystals! The fries are always spot on. The larger burger and chicken sandwich are also good. Their hours are 6am-2pm weekdays and I always wish they were open on weekends and at night. Better food and service than just about anywhere else in town. read more

Best burger place in Roane County. Fresh burgers, onion rings are amazing! The quality of people they have on there staff is off the chain! Great restaurant and great people! read more

Great people great service and amazing burgers.I love there breakfast too recommend the hash browns

It takes way too long at all of them. Must not have enough help. Some of their food of okay.

For breakfast good local breakfast. And the people treated us like family We like that every thing is home made. The biscuits try it you'll go back read more

Family owned and operated. Great at what they do.... Hamburgers! Attentive and prompt service. Very clean.

Very good local diner. Jess is an awesome server! Very friendly. Clean establishment and good food.

When you see a hometown burger joint that's family owned, you expect homemade. That's not the case at Handee Burger. The burger is a frozen patty (A very mediocre one), the fries are also frozen mediocre quality. The BBQ is pulled pork w/ ketchup and loads of sugar. The highlight is the friendly service and atmosphere. This could be a one of kind if they hand pattied burgers, hand cut ff and put some love and time into their BBQ. read more

One of the last remaining "original" businesses in my little hometown during my lifetime. Kingston has slowly grown over the decades and it's often joked about that Knoxville will eventually just bleed right on into it and suck it into its bowels as well. But that's another story. Handee Burger is a one of a kind stain that just won't go away. Their specialty is burgers that do their best to ape White Castle and any of its myriad spinoffs. The problem is that these burgers aren't known as "gut bombs" for nothing They're about as bad as you can get, with grease apparently being the main ingredient, with godawful onions following that, and then finally the beef itself. This is one of those places where you get a bag full of burgers and by the time you get home, your car seat is greased up and the bag your food is in is near transparent thanks to, you guessed it, all that delicious grease. I remember trying the fish sandwich there as well one time. What a bad idea that was. If I think even further back, I also remember getting a high score on their Asteroids machine, and seeing "Stars on 45" on the jukebox that was there at the time. One of the last times I ate at Handee Burger, it wound up coming back up on me a short time later. It wasn't surprising, then, when an acquaintence I knew wound up working there and getting food poisoning due to unclean utensils, and all that wonderful grease. As far as I'm concerned, Handee Burger should be bronzed right there on the spot and the community of Kingston instantly relieved from any more of its gastro nightmares. read more

This place was just a humble country diner. The food was ok but I would almost give four stars for the staff! The staff here made sure we were happy and comfortable. I wanted a to go coffee and our waitress grabbed an extra large cup and filled it up! When we paid, the waitress at the cash register went ahead and got my husband a to go sprite and said "for the road". Very sweet people and will probably go back if I'm in the area. read more

Handee Burger - Burgers Near Me - Kingston, Tennessee

Great little diner with fast service, friendly staff, and very nice owner who makes sure everyone is well taken care of. We invited friends to join us recently for breakfast and I discovered one of them doesn't like brown gravy lol I eat all colors of gravy if it's on a biscuit. Never a long wait. Patrons are friendly and will direct u to available seats. It's fun to sometimes eat at the counter and watch the cook. All in all a great spot for Roane countians. Go support our local restaurants to ensure we have options. Oh, and their burgers are great too! read more

8f your in Kingston this is a great place to get a burger. Very friendly staff. Sit at the counter and talk to them while they cook.

As one other reviewer mentioned, Handee Burger is known for their "gut bombs", and they're similar to white castle. They are what they are. That being said, the breakfast is phenomenal. They have the best breakfast around. The eggs are always fresh, the bacon is crispy, and they have awesome toast or biscuits. The BLT is great as well! For lunch, you can not beat the regular hamburger. I get mine with cheese and all the toppings. It is the best burger I have ever eaten. It isn't over the top huge, and I can actually bite the thing, unlike burgers at fancier restaurants that require cutting with a knife first :). The service is also great. The ladies are courteous and quick. I can always go to the Handee Burger and grab something to eat knowing it will be awesome. read more

It is a typical small town restaurant serving gut bombs. But that's a good thing! I was eating here before I ever heard of White castle.

I may be biased because I haven't been to Kitrell's Kitchen on Gallahar Rd. but Handee breakfast is the best in Kingston. By far better than any of the fast food places. read more

We live here and also eat in or get takeout from Handee Burger almost once a week. The food is great and the staff is friendly. If you are passing through this area and want a good meal that's fast you have to try it. But get there before 4 PM closing time as they just serve breakfast and lunch and are closed all day Saturday and Sunday. read more
