HH had the Chicken Fried steak it was very tender with tasty gravy , not to forget the "rustic" fries he said. (TX toast he passed onto me.) I had "Spud #1" and it was huge! YUM... with Butter, sour cream, bacon & chives. We started out with the "Cheese Curds" (huge serving) and requested the regular Ranch dressing instead of the spicy ranch. The staff did a amazing job of working with my allergy to all bell/chili/jalapeño peppers! Maddi was our server and deserves a RAISE! She was one of the best I have had in a long time!!!! They have customer WiFi but it doesn't work so your cell service is very limited and that is very aggravating. Searching WiFi and it says they have it for customers. Click on it and it isn't available. Restaurant was recently remodeled and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was good. Our young waitress did a great job and checked on us a number of times. The food wasn't over the top like I expected. The restaurant was out of many things on the menu which included salad dressing. My wife got the salmon and baked potato and said the salmon was just ok. I could tell the baked potato was heated in a microwave and my wife said it wasn't completely cooked. I got the bacon burger and home fries. The burger had two small pieces of bacon and they give you a pack of mayo. The patty was a frozen patty and I expected the bun to be toasted and it wasn't. I love a good bacon burger and give this burger a 4 out of 10 score. The home fries were from a bag and heated, not really that good either. We sat on the deck overlooking the water and marina. That was the best part of the whole visit

There are also stalls on the back side of the building. There is one ordering sign between each pair of stalls, so you make sure you are on the correct side if you do not have passenger. The menu is pretty extensive. There are several burger options along with hot dogs and chicken sandwiches. The prices are very good, especially for the baskets which include fries. Oh, and they only take cash so make sure you stop at the ATM before you drop by. When you are ready to order, push the green button. The server answered immediately and read back out order afterwards. Our food came out in about ten minutes. It was served in a bag with lots of ketchup packets as well as some salt packets. There was only one carhop and she was quite busy but greeted us with a smile and made sure we had all we needed. Unfortunately, both burgers were average at best. The double cheeseburger had two thin meat patties which had little to no taste. The veggies were fresh and crisp and the bun was fresh and soft, but the meat simply did not add anything to the sandwich. The Carl's Fat burger was no different. The meat patty was thicker but really did not have much taste. The curly fries and regular fries were pretty good. Both were hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. While they were certainly busy and seem to have a large local following, the burgers were a disappointment. This would be a place to stop for fries, and the milkshakes sounded delicious.

All these years we lived about 30 minutes away and never have been there... that changes now! It is worth the drive. HH & I arrived at 11:30am Thursday and the place was packed! Great sign for us. So while we waited by the door two men sitting at a 6 'top' table heard we would need the bigger table so they moved to a two top and gracefully gave us the 6 top. Very nice of them! Our server was the adorable MISSY! What a hoot! The visiting cousin was with her new fiancé and we were just meeting him that day. (He is a GREAT guy with a funny sense of humor... we approve;) Missy and David (fiancé) hit it off and she knew who 'pick on', and we all had great laughs! So much so that I think other people were leaning in to hear the jokes and fun stories! Cousin is GF and Missy was terrific in following up on her requests. Cousin & Fiancé each had the same breakfast eggs & meats plate that looked yummy! HH & I enjoyed our food as well. I had the Club Sandwich with tots. It was perfect!
