A trip to Culver's is always a treat. If dining in, you will place your order at the counter. The staff is friendly and patient especially with first timers. You'll receive a number to place on your table and the staff will deliver your selections to your table. While it's being freshly prepared you will have time to stop by the fountain to fill up your drink. I highly recommend the root-beer. I think it's really a great place to eat. So the past few times I went to Culver's I noticed that the price had went up a bit which was VERY disappointing. I always get the same thing so I wanted to see if there was a way to make it cheaper. And I found it. I always get two chicken tenders with BBQ sauce and fries with a drink and that's now over $8. I looked at the menu and they have the EXACT same thing as a kids meal except the drink is smaller. So I ordered it that way and it was literally the same thing I always get. And price wise it was $7 and change. Not a huge difference but every penny counts. The custard is now just over $5 so I'll have to see if I can make that cheaper but kinda doubt it. I do love to get a small size and don't really wanna compromise since I don't have a location where I live. But oh well. I love the custard so I'll still get it. We never eat in, but traveling with littles that just have to eat krinkle fries. This was the perfect stop. Definitely need to try a smash burger, we always get the deluxe but ask for a single. The milkshakes are the bomb my only issue. If you get regular chicken tenders they are more of a breaded type. Wow! My first time at Culver's, I've been hearing the hype and while in town I had to try it. The burger was so juicy and delicious, I even added bacon. We love Culver's and are excited about our Scoopies we earned after getting enough kid's meals to earn Scoopie tokens. After eating there, I would say the ranking is well deserved. The food was delicious. Their cheeseburger was one of the best fast food cheeseburgers I've ever had. While Culver's offers reliably good food, the young staff often don't know the menu well or just don't bother to enter orders right. The last two times I have been through the drive-thru, my order has been wrong. Today one of the butter burgers had cheese when I asked for only meat, lettuce, and tomato on the bun, and the two chocolate sundaes I ordered without the nuts were brought to me as just cups of chocolate custard. It was too late to send anything back after sitting and waiting for the order, but it was disappointing. So about 15-20 years ago whilst visiting my wife's relatives in Iowa, I was turned on to Culver's. After living many years in the Los Angeles area, I was previously addicted to In-N-Out burger, and I thought their burgers were the best. Then some time later when I found myself in Texas on business, I was turned on to Whataburger. It was a close second to In-N-Out for many years. But having just slammed a Culver's Double Deluxe Butterburger, I have to add Culver's to the top three. It's actually #2 for the past 20 years in my opinion. Not the same style as In-N-Out, but just as delicious. (*In-N-Out fries are the best of all chain burger restaurants regardless.) In a side note, several years ago, I wrote to their corporate office begging them to open a store here in Knoxville, Tennessee. I actually wrote them several times. Then 4-5 years ago they opened their first in East Tennessee. I'm not saying my begging had anything to do with them opening the first store in Ktown, but I personally think it might have made them think about it! In closing, it's ALWAYS packed. And their classic Culver's family recipe tartar sauce for the fish, and butter for your roll. During Covid-19, the restaurant doesn't have a dine-in option, Just drive-thru. It also doesn't look like they work with any of the delivery services like UberEats. They have 2 drive-thru lines - honestly I'd recommend the outside lane b/c the left turn is a little sharp if you're on the inside lane. After placing your order and then paying, they'll hang a number sign on your door handle -- then you drive up and wait for someone to bring over your food. I think I waited less than 5min. Very efficient process, and all the staff at each point of the process was super nice. Culver's is well-known for their burgers and shakes too -- but our family favorite is their fish-n-fries. I cane in yesterday to the Culver's on Kingston Pike. My Mom recommended their fish. I asked the assistant manager (looked 17yrs old) if the fish was wild caught or farm raised. She looked at the other two kids next to her (managers as well ) the little girl on the end said "ours comes from a farm". So I ordered some cheese curds potatoes and broccoli, I only eat wild caught fish. called my mom and she's like "NO" look it up. so I googled it and found out The MANAGERS, of the Culver's do not even know their menu or where the fish comes from! 90s girl here, we had to know when I worked in fast food and I wasn't even a manager, ours were all adults! so I go and kindly show them the google report that their fish is wild caught and I wanted fish until I was given the wrong information, by 3 managers! 3! my food had already came and I told them I would not have ordered cheese curds if I knew their fish was wild caught, and I'd like them to make it right! one of them comes to my table about 4 minutes later and hands me fish and literally takes the cheese curds from in front of me and tells me, there's a 2.00 difference but we won't make you pay it. Culvers in Knoxville TN, this must be one of the happiest places to work at on earth, everyone was Sooo Nice, first time in a Culver's we were heading back to DFW and stopped overnight to rest here, and saw they had a Culver's asked the wife and kiddos if they wanted to go so we went, and it was all a very positive experience, even after our order was messed up a bit, they corrected it immediately and even gave me the price difference back in cash, the food the wife loved the cod basket, the Culver's burger was great, we are a Culver's family for sure, can't wait ro try the one here in The Colony, TX. There ain't no staffing shortage at this Culvers! Went in at noon on a Sunday and there were 7 employees behind the counter. Mostly young teenagers, and mostly bumping in to one another. But they were there, and they were doing what teenagers do at fast food places, make mistakes on your order. They didn't disappoint on this order. Sure enough they left out my onion rings. That's 3 bucks worth of mistake young ones. I'm not too upset though, I made some doosies when I was under the influence of teen years. Like when I lied about my age to get a job at a movie theater. You needed to be 18, and I was barely 16. My stint at the theater was going well until I came in one day and found that the new attraction was X rated! No one under 18 allowed. I shouldn't have seen what I saw up there on the silver screen. I guess that's why I married young. If it had only happened once or twice I would think it was an accident, but we're going on 15 or 20 times now. Why would they do that? Because the double deluxe with cheese costs more.
