    Double cheeseburger and fries

Absolutely delicious hamburgers, made fresh and to order. Onion rings and fries were great too. My kids enjoyed the chili fries. Staff was friendly and attentive and food was made quickly. Super cute historic building too!

A full dining room full of happy customers.

This place was packed, but I'd say they could seat about 50 to 60 people probably. There.was.no wait and the service was really good. My wife had the BBq burger and fries and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and a side salad. I didn't get photos of the food because it was so good I forgot all about needing those for my review. The side salad was huge and get this....not only did it have delicious bacon (real bacon!) on it, but there was not a single piece of bad lettuce. Not a brown spot, not a crusty brown end, nothing- which is pretty rare these days anywhere you go. Every single piece of lettuce, bacon, cheese and tomato was fantastically fresh! The burger was made with good beef and was loaded up with cheese slices and bacon and the cheese was actually melted. The chicken salad was amazing - it was cold,.fresh, with tiny little pieces of yellow bell pepper. The owner came.over and talked with us for a bit and when asked, said that the chicken salad was his wife's own recipe. He told us that today was the end of their first six weeks as the new owner and we told him that Tanners and Wartburg were very lucky that he and his wife took over.we didn't get his name, but maybe when we go back....because we will absolutely be back!!! They have done an amazing job renovating the old building and brining Tanners back to its glory days!

The food here is very good! I have gotten the wings and few times ever since the new owners took over and they are amazing! The owners are very friendly and interactive with all the guest! This place is really a hidden jem and is going somewhere for sure!

Cute little bit of historic Wartburg! I finally visited and made sure to try the much recommended burger and fries--delicious! Next time will be the ice cream. Service is straightforward and down to business. The ladies were very nice and helpful with everything.

Really nice find! I always look for these little lunch spots on the square in small towns. This one is a perfect example. Run by women who have good chicken salad, chili, and ice cream specialties. Well done ladies! I will be back. PS: As I expected the bathrooms were spotless! I suspect the kitchen is as well!

The wait is worth it if you get there before 8 am. The omelettes had a lot of filling and were very good. The buckwheat pancake while thin had a really nice texture. The pot roast eggs Benedict was good but the biscuit is so thick and soft and the meat is soft that it would be better with an English muffin for a texture factor. Place is cute log cabin vibes and very busy.

People are frustrating--especially on vacation. But, if you are irritated, do not assume that you won't be understood. I speak 3 languages well and understand more. The wait was awful, but to be expected. And our waitress was helpful and friendly--though not super attentive. She was busy, though, not lazy. The food was decent. Not earth shattering. Bottom line...if you want BIG food. And you have 1.5 hours to wait for food...it is a great tourist spot. The biscuits were light and fluffy. The cinnamon roll bread is well done...but the flavor was tame and the glaze was not good. My son loved the Aretha Frankenstein pancakes. However, if you want good food, there has to be a better spot.

Best food I've had on this Tennessee trip! We drove about 35 minutes from our airbnb to eat here…read moreand it was SO WORTH IT! Quaint breakfast spot with very kind staff. The BEST scotch eggs I've ever had and served with a mustard aioli that just completes the dish. The Fred eggs Benedict was delicious. Thick piece of ham that was like cutting through butter. Paired with the cheddar grits, which were also amazing! If you're in the area and a foodie this place is a MUST! They also had chocolate gravy... yes that's correct... chocolate! We didn't try it but I'm sure it's great. Fun fact... there's a QR code in the front at the hostess stand and in the bathroom for 25% off your first meal if you sign up for texts! Make sure you tip good, this place is well worth it! We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Cumberland Biscuit has always been my go to breakfast place for visiting family and friends. While…read morethe service remains great and the restaurant is always clean with a friendly atmosphere, my meals during the last 3 visits have been disappointing. First visit, I asked if my waffle could be served later because I like it hot and fresh. I was told that's fine, but when they brought it out it was cold. Server offered to make it fresh and that was great. It was obviously warmed in a microwave and was floppy like a pancake when she reserved my waffle. Second visit I decided pancakes may be a better option, but when they brought them out they were hard and rubbery. This time I mentioned the previous incident and was told to specify making them fresh upon request, otherwise they remain under the warmer which makes them hard and rubbery while still warm. Makes sense. This most recent visit with family, two of us ordered the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was so watery it soaked into the biscuit making it soggy. The usually very tasty home fries were simply cooked potatoes with no seasoning (they've always been very flavorful) and the over medium eggs had runny whites. The coffee had a burnt taste which is not the norm. It's usually hot, fresh and tastes better than the average cafe coffee. The recent inconsistency in the quality of the food is really disappointing. Willing to give it another try in the future, but definitely taking a break for a spell.
