    Reuben
    Susan C.

My spouse ordered the popular tasty Vol Burger which is a good deal for $10.99 as it comes with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, a pickle and French fries at no extra charge. Piled high on a brown bun with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand island dressing, my Reuben for $9.99 was equally tasty. It also came with a pickle spear. Sodas cost $2.99 each. A small sign posted on the window reads Cash and Checks Only, so that's the drawback especially when a majority of folks carry only debit and credit cards. However, a lone ATM sits inside the front door for those without "green" in their wallets. The atmosphere is casual with plenty of seating in orange "booths," and the walls are filled with UT memorabilia and several tvs that broadcast college sports.

My new favorite! Cajun grilled chicken sandwich with hot pepper cheese!

My family and I have been going here for years! This is my new favorite sandwich, and I think I'm going to need it once a week!

I have lived in Knoxville for 8 years now. I can't believe I I just found this place. This little dinner is Best kept secret. From the atmosphere in the friendly staff members I can't believe this place doesn't have a line around the door. Truly a family diner because they know almost everybody walking on the door. They're known for their cheeseburgers but I decided to get a rib eye sandwich made to order. So big I have to take half of it with me. Best thing I tasted in a long time so good. My daughter had chicken fingers and they were just as good as the ribeye. When my daughter was done with her dinner the manager or owner I'm not sure gave my daughter a candy bar. This is truly my new favorite place.

They can split your burger in half, if you'd like.

It's a great place to go to get a lot of southern comfort foods, some with nice twists as well, and it has a full bar, and open for all meals I believe. We went years ago to the first location in Knoxville, maybe a few times, but felt "been there done that" as more and more good restaurants came downtown. Happy to see this new location, closer to a lot of things we do in west Knox. I had a GREAT lunch. Bloody Mary, then one of their low-cost specials ($11 for a half sandwich and side, basically). The sandwich was hot chicken with ranch and pickles and it was scrumptious. I had a problem choosing sides- so many great options including brussel sprouts, fried okra, Mac&cheese and salads.....I finally chose the green beans with bacon. Oh, they were soooo good. I could have made my meal just that and some cornbread. Next time I may get a veggie platter or just get extra sides, gotta try the others to see if they are cooked as well. So how can I not give that 5 stars?

This is the place that officially made me a fried chicken fan -- and no fried chicken has ever come close to Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken! Address: 126 Lovell Rd, Farragut, TN 37934 Food: 6/5 My go-to meal is the 3-piece Chicken Tenders with French Fries and Baked Beans, with an added Chicken Breast. Gus's chicken is the best fried chicken I have ever had. It's perfectly cooked with an incredible crunch on the outside, while staying moist and juicy on the inside. The spices are absolutely delicious! I've been here over 15 times, and the consistency has always been amazing every single visit. The baked beans are also the best I've ever had. The French fries are seasoned perfectly with a great crunch while still having a fluffy texture inside. ‍Service: 6/5 The service at Gus's is top tier. Every server treats each table like they're the most important customers in the building. Special shoutout to Daisy -- the last few times I've visited, she has been my server, and she remembers me every time. She even knows my order by heart now! She is genuinely one of the nicest and best servers I've ever had at any restaurant. Atmosphere: 5/5 I absolutely love the vibes at Gus's. I always feel right at home whenever I walk in. The design and menu perfectly match the restaurant's personality, and the place is always clean with plenty of comfortable seating. Value: 5/5 The prices and portions are both an A+ for me. I ordered extra food this time, but you can easily get a fantastic and affordable meal here. Final Thoughts I absolutely love Gus's, and it will forever be one of my go-to spots before going to a movie. This is some of the best fried chicken you will ever have -- if not #1, then easily Top 3 of all time. Bring your family, let Daisy take care of you, and enjoy an incredible meal! I felt it was kind of tough and not crispy enough. Like a dark, over-fried version. Sides were okay. I like that they had collard greens. Goes well with chicken. Overall: Seems way overhyped. I like CM Chicken better. For Southern style, I've had better as well.

It was about 3:00 and the restaurant was on a 45 minute wait. We decided to sit at the bar and have an appetizer while we waited for our table. They were unusually busy because of college graduations. We had a shrimp appetizer which was recommended by the bartender. It was delicious! It had the right amount of spice for us. Our table was ready right as we finished our appetizer. The hostess was very polite and asked us if we were celebrating anything special.. We were promptly greeted by our server Elisabeth who was wonderful. She told us the specials and inquired if it was our first visit. We ordered the espresso rubbed ribeye w/ a baked potato & Caesar salad. We decided to share a steak and ordered an extra wedge salad. Everything was delicious. The steak was a perfect medium. The butter that is served with the bread is heavenly. I was thrilled with my Caesar salad that had anchovies on top. My wedge salad was amazing. This was one of the best steaks we have ever had. We would highly recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner. 5 ask for Elisabeth if you want a wonderful dining experience!

We're not expecting ultra-authentic Mexican food everywhere, but if you can't even get close, maybe don't put tacos on the menu because this felt genuinely insulting. We ordered the "small" taco board that we were told would feed 2-3 people, and it came with bland shredded chicken that tasted boiled, plus carrots, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, and corn scattered across the board like stir-fry vegetables. It also included the smallest portion of steak with chimichurri (Argentinian not Mexican), bland green salsa, terrible store-bought tasting red salsa, and "homemade" tortillas. There was almost no seasoning or flavor in any of it. The photo attached is just the chicken portion of the board because honestly the rest wasn't even worth photographing. The $15 guacamole was also extremely underwhelming for the price -- tiny portion of chips, one tiny lime wedge, and we were brought salt so we could finish seasoning it ourselves. Service was okay, but overall spending around $75 for two beers, guacamole, and food we barely wanted to finish was frustrating. Sadly, the ambiance and decor were the best part of the experience. Safe to say we will not be coming back.
